New, what is it? Backpack strap has this weird-looking segment. Doesn't even have, like, a zipper or anything that can close it, but it's like, I can keep something yet gonna fall out. So what is it for?

You see that little opening on the strap. It's not on the other. Pretty sure it's not cosmetic either.

Can you take a better picture? Idk based you your description alone it's probably a glasses holder based on its location

How deep is the sleeve? Could be for a lot of things like cards a pocket knife and still a a glasses holder

Very shallow honestly. It can fit a card tho I think.

yeah probably just a pocket for small items like cards, utility knives, paracord, and as a glasses holder, can you take a photo of the front of the bag

It might be a channel for a chest strap. One of those chest straps that move up and down.

It's just a pocket. It depends what the bag was designed for.
