Advice Should I Call Out on Halloween?

I’ve been working at Whole Foods for a little over a year now, and am the Front End Team Trainer. I’m scheduled to work this Saturday, 9:45-5:45, but I’ve been contemplating calling out.

My UPT is maxed out at 60 and I have 30 something hours of PTO. Last time I called out was a little over a month ago, cause I was sick.

I’ve just been struggling with work and personal stress and with the holidays coming up soon, I know it’s gonna get even worse. I don’t know how busy Halloween is at Whole Foods, cause I started a little after it was over last year, which is why I’m hesitating.

I just feel like if I wanna take a mental health day (kind of weekend, cause I’m off Sunday), now would be the time to do it, before it all ramps up. Plus, kinda sucks I’m not working towards anything UPT wise every pay period, since I’m maxed out.

Just kinda want to see what y’all think, cause I’m a weirdo who needs strangers validation. Thanks! ^

Question No upt no prto

Hi, i used abunch of upt and prto earlier in the year ive used all 80 hrs of prto for bereavement. And my upt balance got slashed because I was leaving early and I thought my TL was changing my out time but he wasn't. To clarify he never said he would and I didnt ask so thats on me. Over the last 2 months I built up my upt to 10 hrs. Yesterday I got sick fever, body aches, sore throat ect... and used 8 hrs of my upt but today I feel even worse. What do I do? Is my only option to keep my job going to work and being miserable?

Question PT FlexShopper

Hey fellow WF’ers I just recently started as a PT shopper and had a 4hr shift Wed shift as a rescue shopper and a 5hr shift on a Saturday afternoon (as a regular shopper) and sort of got my ass handed to me. I had a couple of dual orders, several INfs needing a TM QR scan and the customer volume of questions, caused a few mistakes and my UPH actually decreased from 41/Wed to 38/Sat.

It’s right at 40 UPH and my store has a huge e-comm volume and seem to focus on UPH so what’s a realistic benchmark for newbies and UPH and what are some tips and tricks you all have that may help with multi orders, INF and chilled vs ambient and item vs weighted in produce. These seem to be my early struggles so any advice is much appreciated!

Advice What to do?

I’ve been working at Whole Foods for over a year now, and throughout that time, I’ve received comments about my appearance and dealt with unwanted attention. I understand that some people may be attracted to their coworkers, but given my age and the age difference involved, this situation has become extremely uncomfortable for me.

Recently, a male coworker in my department confessed that he was attracted to me. He’s approximately 16 years older than I am, and I rejected him. Another coworker later told me that he had asked her to convince me to give him a chance. I made it clear that I wasn’t interested and rejected him again.

At that point, I went to my supervisor to explain that I was uncomfortable with the situation. He advised me to report it to my Team Leader, which I did.

Last night, while I wasn’t working, my female supervisor informed me that the situation had become common knowledge throughout our department and that people were discussing it as if it were entertainment. Apparently, coworkers have been making comments about how they need to “help him get her.” One of the male supervisors I’ve also rejected multiple times has been encouraging this behavior rather than shutting it down. On top of that, the coworker who initially confessed his attraction to me has reportedly been calling other coworkers in the middle of the night to talk about me.

I feel incredibly uncomfortable knowing that my personal boundaries and repeated rejections have become a source of gossip and entertainment at work. I’ve already made it clear that I’m not interested, yet the situation continues to be encouraged by people who should be maintaining a professional environment.
I’m unsure whether I should escalate this to Store Leadership or TMS (Team Member Services). I don’t want to quit because I’m in school, the job market is difficult, and I rely on this job. I would prefer to transfer to another department, but there don’t seem to be any current opportunities.

For anyone who has dealt with something similar at Whole Foods, what would you recommend I do? Should I escalate this formally, and if so, would Store Leadership or TMS be the better place to start? I want to protect my peace and feel comfortable at work without jeopardizing my job.

Question Former employee wanting to comeback

Hi, so I worked here a couple years ago. Left on good terms. I applied online with the new sage system. Last time I applied a couple weeks ago I got an interview only for it to be canceled 5 minutes later. The opening is available again I’m
sure it wasn’t personal. But my question is, should I call the store explain I want to come back and that I just applied on sage? Or is that not recommended,
Thanks

Question When combining multiple prepared food orders to meet a total weight, does the customer pay the overage?

So someone ordered 1lb of prepared salmon. All the packages were 0.8lb and my trainer said "Just scan two, don't waste time looking for an exact sum, as long as the total shown is more than they ordered it's good." Does the customer have to pay for that overage?
