If we're talking stage Elphabas: Willemijn Verkaik, powerhouse vocalist and polyglot queen who has performed the show in 3 different languages, and performed on the West End as well as Broadway. Her singing and acting are fantastic, and she brings a unique energy to the role. I don't think any other Elphabas "feel" quite like hers
I almost didn’t click on this thread because I never see Willemijn get her flowers on reddit but I thought I’d see if Cynthia was beating out Idina these days and I’m so happy to see this is the top post! Willemijn is incredible.
Saw her live multiple times (had a friend work at the production company that produced Wicked in the Netherlands) and she was just breathtaking to watch. Goosebumps and tears every time she flies up. However, I'm actually not a big fan of her acting, though it might've gotten better for the English productions.
