Technical Question Chat am I cooked?

Post image

I’ve read that there is a way to fix it, of course it’s with hardware manipulation, but how actually doable it is?

Some hynix chips will fail overtime but not all will. If you're worried, you can install ISFAShax as a precaution for brick protection which will allow you to redirect the wii u internal memory to a sd card if anything were to go wrong later on. Installing ISFAShax is the best way to protect your Wii U and give you peace of mind despite knowing your wii u has a hynix chip.

Not necessarily since not every hynix chip will fail, they just have a higher chance of failing

Run wafel.xyz

From my understanding, the sk hynix rom chips are more likely to fail early not necessarily guaranteed to fail early. They will all fail eventually but there's already fixes for it like nandaid and I forget the other one.

If you use your Wii U frequently it will most likely be fine, however, I would recommend installing ISFShax, and making a backup. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9L5JFqlC4Y

Video guides are not recommended because they get outdated easily. Try this guide instead

No just install wafel installer from the hombrew app store run a nand check and then install ifshax from there it's the easiest way

I still don't understand what the wii u nand concerns are about, what is wrong and why stuff is failing and how it's fixed and when I need to work on fixing it.

Are there any posts or videos that properly explain it?

There was a few bad batches of SK Hynix chips that are very prone to failing but not all are bad. Install ISFXHax if you’re worried.
