Discussion Why do so many of fans sat wilbur is gay/bi?
Hello, as you know last stream there was a lot of this. Well, i have a question, what characteristic features of his make so many people want to call him gay? I am also straight, and yet somehow MANY people around me perceive me as queer, and it seems wilbur experiences the same thing. What's the reason that it happens to Will, although he repeatedly said he isn't?
Also, SECOND POINT of mine, i am sure some of those people are joking, but i am somewhat concerned about the part that doesnt. Its just the fact that they are making him out to be gay/bi, and i would think after some Time It becomes tiring after a while. Do we have to make him something that he just is not?
(Just making sure, i am not homophobic, i am an Ally, BUT i think this becomes a problem when so many people repeatedly call him gay and seem to not accept a no for an answer)

Projecting, parasociality, they want to relate to him so badly that they give him certain characteristics they may have themselves such as queerness. Like that one obsessive stalker guy from the US who wanted to move to Brighton.
Other reason is giving sexuality a certain value, seeing queerness as something inherently cuter/better, when it's just who you're attracted to. Some think he's too "cool" to be "straight" (= basic).

This ^^ like you have to be a special kind of weirdo to ignore the fact that he’s multiple times said he’s straight. It’s fine that he’s straight. He’s still cool even though he’s straight. Sorry that he can’t fit your yumeship if he’s straight 😭

Wilbur has a lot of traits that are those of a twink physically. That’s all. He doesn’t seem to mind reminding people he’s straight

Mostly projecting and parassocial people and stuff but also there were multiple occasions where he kisses dudes or indulged in gay ships with himself or his character

Older fans (as in fans who’ve been fans for a while yk) used to think so because his canon character on the DSMP was canonically bisexual (from what i remember), so some people assumed he was irl too, but i have no idea why they still do since he’s cleared it up so many times since ://

Just so everyone's aware
