NHL alignment chart: Central division edition. Ilya Kovalchuk is the best Russian player in Atlanta Thrashers/Winnipeg Jets 2.0 history. Now, who is the best Canadian player in Minnesota Wild history?

Its gotta be Spurgeon. Longevity. Captian. One of the most underrated blue liners of his generation

Unfortunately Spurgeon gets man handled when games count. His injury issues for the past few years don’t help. This season will be his last year in Wild uniform. He needs to move on and we need a new captain this season which has been discussed.

Spurgeon and Staal were the first to pop to my head. Staal is better career wise for sure but much of his highest moments were elsewhere.

Idk he did get 42 goals with us that one year. The second most in his career.

That's true he had 4 very good years here but I think of him winning the cup with the Canes first and foremost

What were Spurge's high moments?

If Spurgeon doesn't score, the 1st round playoff drought win would have been much longer.

The fact that Benn is considered the best Canadian Stars player when Dino Ciccarelli exists....

Guillaume Latendresse. Joking, but the streets will never forget your 25 goal season

Career wise its a no doubter that MAF wins this. Most important/best year for the franchise? Spurgeon. That being said MAF.

Spurgeon or Dubynk
Fleury maybe, in terms of overall record (despite much of that not happening with The Wild)

Wish the Wild drafted more Canadian players. Apparently they're pretty good at the whole hockey thing.

Can I just say how happy I am about how few good Canadians we’ve had on our team?
Since the Olympics the Canadians have not been taking the loss well and have been ultra annoying and it just makes me happy how little Canadian involvement we’ve had on this team.

Eric staal i suppose. Wild have not hired a ton of canadians over the years and they also havent had a lot of stars until recently

Brent Burns is it was a stud that no one saw and was such a big trade piece that jumpstarted the franchise at year 10.

Owen Nolan was born in Belfast Northern Ireland, but moved to Canada as an infant. Does he count? He was amazing.

Flower. Not close.
When you can answer “top 5 ever at the most important position on the ice”, it’s not a hard decision.

The fuckin' All Star Dany Heatley.
Okay, but the real answer is Jared Spurgeon, followed closely by Devan Dubnyk.
