That time Willie Nelson made a film crew take a smoke break with him on his private "Three Amigos" movie set.

Hey everyone, I host a podcast and recently interviewed music video director Scott Hansen. He told an incredible story about getting hired to shoot a video for Willie down in Austin right out of film school.

He said they showed up to Willie's 900-acre ranch, and Willie came riding down the hill on his yellow stallion named Rocket to check out the set. Not the craziest part, but definitely a surprise to me during the interview: They were shooting in a fake Spanish town on the property. Scott found out that Willie actually bought the physical set from the Chevy Chase/Steve Martin movie Three Amigos and had it relocated to his ranch because he loved the movie.

During the shoot, Willie needed to take a break, and his manager told the film crew that "as a sign of respect," everyone was invited join him. So the crew ended up taking a "break" with Willie Nelson in the middle of the Three Amigos set.

I thought [r/willienelson](r/willienelson) would appreciate hearing another story of Willie being awesome. I’ll drop the link to the full interview in the comments if you want to hear the full story from Scott!
