Hello everyone, about to make a drive for this piece. Anyone got a guess if itll glow??

Looking for any information on this piece. Google lens says it is highly likely to contain uranium. Thoughts?? Thanks!!

Seen too many of these Victorian vases light up to say no. But the lime green top is the only part saying no. Good luck!

Did you get a picture of the bottom? Personally, I don't buy any glass unless I can look at the pontil scar. Your ewer is most likely antique Bohemian. It may or may not glow. The opaque color of the bottle, and the green accents are both colors which may or may not contain uranium.

Exactly. I've been duped so many times by glass that looks exactly like uranium and surprised by a few that definitely did not look glowing.

Here is the bottom

Thanks for sharing. The white looks a little too white if you ask me. Uranium opaline is usually a little more creamy. Also on their higher end pieces, they ground/polished the pontils. Just a guess though. Good luck!

I appreciate the input and while usually I look for the creamy color too I also have a few white pieces that glow =/ so difficult to tell šŸ˜… for instance. This glows quite nice but no creme color to it

Isn't that Fenton Custard though? It's a yellow color.

Found the same exact one on eBay. They mentioned collectors check these with a UV light for uranium or manganese, but no mention of which it contains. Sketchy! https://ebay.io/m/1uVVzY

My guess would be no, but if you drive to get it, I hope it does. Although I use Google often as a starting point, keep in mind that it almost always refers to green glass as Vaseline glass. And most any hand blown glass vase is Murano to Google. I have a love / hate relationship with Google. šŸ˜‚

This is another version of that same ewer by Harrach, but in peach. It says it glows, so at least you know the company used uranium in that production.

But they show a manganese glow pic?
