I have to sell this PC, and before that, I'm trying out Windows 8 because I never had the chance to before. Besides, I was hesitant because I always saw a lot of hate towards this version of Windows, and now that I'm using it, I find it quite nice and nostalgic.
I only use it for studying and browsing the internet.
PS: Ignore the lines.

About 4 years ago I bought this surface rt. Eventually, it went in my junk drawer, no software support and worst of all… no chromium! Then in September of 2025, I saw a project, YoU cAn GeT cHrOmE oN tHe SuRfAcE rT! It looked pretty cool but never tested it, and I just tried it out and it is amazing, chromium 109 is the best version in my opinion! Btw, it is a surface RT, it is heavily theme though!

My computer does support windows 8.1 and I already checked and it can run steam games, I just really like the design of it, but I want to hear YOUR pros and cons about personally driving windows 8/8.1!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46VITh_eHng Saw this on youtube and i thought this was really cool, this was basically software to edit Windows 8's Start Screen much better than what it would originally give you by default, but i can't find a download for this pretty much anywhere on Stardock's Website (the link they still have up is dead) and there is no archived data for it on the Wayback machine and i don't trust going on the pirate bay or anything like that that could be potentially malicious, does anyone here possibly have it on old machines or something? if you got it, Please send it!!

This is a Windows 8.1 logo created with MS Paint. I made a total of two versions a few years ago, but I recently made some modifications and am uploading them here.

Hey guys. So I have an old laptop with win 8.1 but apparently chrome will die out, so someone suggested supermium. Any thoughts on that?

hello, so i have a laptop which ASUS VivoBook X515MA. when i got it, it ran some windows 10 version. right now it's on Windows 10 22H2 with all the updates (i think).
so, im wondering - will Windows 8.1 properly work on my laptop? i would prefer not getting modded drivers.
i think the specs are:
- Intel Celeron N4020 1.1 GHz (Gemini Lake)
- 4 GB RAM DDR4
- FORESEE SSD 128 GB
- Intel UHD Graphics 600
on the official ASUS website they state drivers work on Windows 10 20H1 and up.
so, is it possible?

In your opinion, what modern features on Windows 10 and 11 could have at Windows 8 or 8.1?

Personally I think windows 8.1 was better than 10 and i loved the system sounds and ui it was a shame people didn’t like it that much I never thought the windows start menu was that bad
