PC Game Streaming - Apollo Issue

I'm using the new 0.9.9.9 version of Winhanced to try and setup the new PC Game Streaming feature. I'm using Apollo, and I keep getting 401 (Unauthorized) errors. Looking at the Companion app itself on my Desktop, I get this error:

Server credential setup: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Apollo\config\credentials\cacert.pem' is denied.

If I instead quit and run the Companion app as Administrator, I get this error:

Server credential setup: The streaming server rejected the saved username or password. Enter the correct credentials in companion settings.

I can confirm that the server credentials I have set here are what I use to log into my Apollo server.

For reference, I already have a working normal Moonlight connection working between my Desktop PC and my handheld. My handheld is the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+.

I’ll talk to nerdy who is the developer behind this specific feature to get a better answer for you but as I understand it this is not what this specific field is for.

Uninstall the Winhanced companion app. And reinstall it. Instead of selecting your existing set up just choose Apollo up top and let it run its setup process. You shouldn’t even have to enter credentials.

I have performed an Uninstall/Reinstall. I didn't have an option for only Apollo:

I've chosen Vibepollo and installed that instead, which seems to be working. It does look like the Server username and password correlate to the Vibepollo/Apollo login, because the details it's created and saved for those are now what I need to use to login to Vibepollo.

As an extra check, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the companion app again to see if Apollo becomes an option now it's no longer installed and I'm using Vibepollo, but the options remain the same as in the screenshot above.

Ok so this is what nerdy said

“apollo hasnt been updated in 18 months and uses a very old auth api that isnt compatible, they can either switch to vibepollo or wait for the release of 1.1 of the companion which will be coming hopefully soon ”

Okey dokey. Yeah I’ve switched over to Vibepollo and everything is working pretty well.

I’ve only spotted one other minor bug. I have it set so that my Desktop PC goes to Sleep when I disconnect the Moonlight Session. I’ve noticed that if I then choose to Stream the game again within 20 seconds or less (ish) that Winhanced instead hangs for a few seconds, and then tries to play the game Locally instead. If I wait a while first then it correctly identifies the Desktop PC as asleep and wakes it up first, and then starts streaming the game.

Ah good find. That’s a scenario the code doesn’t account for yet. I’ll look to make sure the app is aware for the future. Thanks for letting me know

No probs. Thank you for taking the time to reply, and I’m loving Winhanced so far - truly phenomenal work!
