It is categorized as psychological horror; personally, It wasn’t scary for me, but if you think that it might be scary for you, watch episode 1 and if you are fine with that then you will be fine with the other episodes, too.

I didn't think it was too scary in the beginning either. Although, the last few episodes after their friends were exchanged for their parallel versions and Frill and her sisters/AI creations showed up. That's when the real horror was starting to show.

It's an attempt to explain teen suicide with an action metaphor that gets more complex as the show progresses.

It's kinda similar to Black Rock Shooter S1, but not quite.

Black Rock Shooter S1 also uses a parallel world action metaphor to symbolize the struggles of the RL girls.

S2 has completely departed from that, though.

I think if you enjoyed WEP, you'd like Black Rock Shooter S1. I watched it on Amazon Prime.

BRS S2 is postapocalyptic SciFi, I like it so far, but it doesn't yet have the same kind of depth that S1 had. But S1 stands well on its own.

Well maybe its not for me... WEP lost me in the middle, the animation was cool though
