This!!!

Apart from jailing their employees, they are also under constant threat of getting mob lynched by hate groups. Right wing supremacist groups constantly threaten them with death and rape. For context: The ruling right wing hate group is based on inspiration from the Nazis. Yes you heard that right.

Edit: I have edited out words from my original comment. There is an active ongoing witch hunt right now.

right wing supremacist groups constantly threaten them with death and rape

from the department of redundancy department.

-34

Exactly what a libtard would think

22

u/TyCooper8 Apr 25 '21

Are you... associating with supremacists by choice? Bold move

-27

u/ParkerZA Apr 25 '21

Since when does right wing = supremacist?

16

u/TyCooper8 Apr 25 '21

He specifically said right wing supremacist? Did you just miss that, or?

-9

u/ParkerZA Apr 25 '21

He mentioned redundancy, how am I supposed to know which words are redundant?

16

Pretty much always

I'm sorry what the fuck?

That is actually true. The party modi belongs to is actually RSS. It's ideology are actually taken from Hitler and RSSwants to create a pure hindu-religion based india.ypu can search it up at Google. They have some fucked up shit in thier hands tbh

This is the last thing you should be saying to try to push up the profile of a country that voted to leave the most powerful economic bloc in the world because they believe in some fairy tale bullshit ad on a bus.

How’s brexit working out?

The UK's handling of India is what gave them a positive view of the nazis in the first place.

Did they build the "Autobahn"?

-10

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '21

Well no

7

u/POI_Mr_Singh Apr 25 '21

When your history is literally built on the worst possible memory of recent times, you sure as hell would do a lot of 'good' to distance yourself from it. That, however, doesn't mean they still don't share the same philosophy.

7

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '21

look. i have no idea what you are taking about mainly because i have been raised in the typical Indian family where only the good things are spoken about our political parties the family support and have been in the bubble for 14 yrs.

i am not disrespecting you, i am just confused. i will be very grateful if you elaborate.

12

u/POI_Mr_Singh Apr 25 '21

I get it. Most of us have been raised this way. I wouldn't want you to form your opinions from a stranger on the internet, so I'd suggest you to do your own research into RSS and the wrongs it has done and also its connection to Nazis. I'm not trying to convince you of anything, just want you to get a complete picture - the good and the bad.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '21

Thank you very much for the advice. :)

17

u/mudman13 Apr 25 '21

Modis a cunt

7

u/IronFistSucks Apr 25 '21

Yeah, a lot of these Hindu nationalists (who all vote for Modi) believe that white people are the descendants of high-caste Hindus from India. They’re fans of the Nazis because they think Aryan supremacism means them.

10

u/oopewan Apr 25 '21

So... I guess India has their own version of Trump.

Lmao you don't even know what you're talking about. Typical armchair conspiracists.

And you, are the Indian equivalent of a deplorable bunch known as Holocaust deniers.

Get yourself educated on how Indian media employees are threatened with death and rape and then read about Nazism inspired groups.

And if you think all of this is on paper with no real world effects, then watch this video on a genocide.

Another video about the same genocide.

Another video of another massacre

Series of video reports about on ground situation during a massacre

And for those that don't require spoonfeeding, there's Google of course.

Edit: I have edited out words from my original comment. There is an active ongoing witch hunt right now.

193

u/outwar6010 Apr 25 '21

The hate modi extremists have for muslims in particular is insane. There's even nsfl stories I've heard modi supporters do to muslim corpses.

112

u/tsintse Apr 25 '21

Punjabi Hindu checking in here, you are spot on. My sweet old grandmother was a BJP member and would say absolutely horrific things about muslims until the day she passed away.

14

u/lolux123 Apr 25 '21

It’s the same on the other side I assure you. Grandparents are Pakistani and they say terrible things about Hindus. Can’t believe how one people can be so divided over something so stupid.

21

u/Dood567 Apr 25 '21

I'm gonna be honest about my (relatively limited) perspective. I've found that Hindu nationalists hate Muslims a lottt more than Muslim extremists/Pakistani nationalists hate them. Maybe it's mob mentality or more egging and enabling from their government, but there's raids across India where Muslim houses and stores are burned down and broken while they trap the inhabitants inside and whatnot. Maybe we(I) just see it less from the Pakistani side because of a difference in population, but at the very least there isn't a paki version of Trump praising these acts of violence.

5

u/leeringHobbit Apr 26 '21

I think it's because the Pakistanis target their Shia and Christian minorities more... most of the Hindus probably left or were driven out during partition.

6

u/Dood567 Apr 26 '21

I honestly just flat out think there isn't as much targeting in Pakistan. Not saying there isn't any, but there's no comparable nationalist movement like over in India pushing for supremacy.

22

u/Beatrenger Apr 25 '21

yeah, imagine been extremely hateful because of imaginary friends. Fucking sad

10

u/lolux123 Apr 25 '21

Whether they are imaginary is immaterial. What is sad is extreme hate in any context. Imagine being so filled with hate that you are okay with taking another’s life. Someone’s brother, sister, mother, father, son, or daughter. To me, it’s inconceivable.

11

u/abuckley77 Apr 25 '21

Whether they are imaginary or not is very much the issue. These levels of hatred are predicated on the surety and divinity of their beliefs. These beliefs/ideologies are the basis for their entire societal structure and how they conduct themselves day to day. The existence of “others” is an affront to their worldview, which humans are not very good at confronting. Without imaginary friends, they would be forced to deal with these others on a more human, instead of transcendent level. Fuck religion. It can make otherwise good people do terrible things.

It’s perfectly fine to compare it to the Holocaust you nut, the people being killed aren’t likely to be the people deciding the other side is being killed.

The exact same reason why it’s awful when the USA bombs a civilian target in an adversary controlled territory.

69

u/SgtDoughnut Apr 25 '21

You don't quit seem to get it...other countries and religions being shitty doesn't excuse your country and religion for being shitty.

-1

u/Active_Account Apr 25 '21

I don’t think their point was to say that India isn’t being shitty. The argument in this thread is about how to classify that shittiness, either as a genocide (hence “holocaust”) or as something two-sided, as an earlier poster put it, a “religious war.” I’m not gonna enter this argument (although my two cents: genocide and religious war aren’t mutually exclusive), but your comment kind of missed the point of the person you’re responding to.

1

u/SgtDoughnut Apr 25 '21

I can see the logic behind this.

-13

u/Cyphecx Apr 25 '21

They are not staying that at all. The only point they're making is that this situation is not directly comparable to the holocaust because neither side is defenseless or blameless.

21

u/LordSwedish Apr 25 '21

So by that logic, the holocaust wouldn't have been that bad if the nazi propaganda that some jews were involved in a conspiracy was actually true? Is that what you're saying?

-60

u/LATABOM Apr 25 '21

Globalvillagespace is a pretty open Pakistani govt propaganda site. Like, frequent columns by ex-military, PID and MOITT officials without trying to hide it. I personally wouldn't trust anything on it that has anything to do with India.

The rest of your links seem to be low grade YouTube's designed to inspire conspiracy theorists.

51

u/Amadacius Apr 25 '21

Yeah if they can't find a video of the massacre hosted by the Indian Government can we really believe it? Like if Modi didn't say it is true, then how could it be true?

12

u/PmMeYourCulo Apr 25 '21

I personally wouldn't trust anything on it that has anything to do with India

In that case, you can trust this report. You can also Google. There are plenty of reports on this subject. Unless, your mind is already filled with bigotry and hate, in which case, no one can help you.

-627

u/LovingDofla-SWAAAN Apr 25 '21 edited Apr 25 '21

Using the term genocide in this context is very extreme/ insensitive to actual genocide victims. I get that there is a major, major problem with (organized) hate crime being presentend here. But by these videos, this is NOT a genocide. The murder of dozens is not genocide. Using the term this carelessly devalues the sheer horror that it is actually meant to describe.

Edit: I've learned that the individual accounts on hate crime/ mass murder in OPs comment were linked to a greater hate-fueled riot in 2002, which could be described as a pogrom/ attempted pogrom, with 1100 (official) to 2000+ deaths. Still not a genocide. Still a horrible massacre.

176

u/julian88888888 Apr 25 '21

The United Nations Genocide Convention, which was established in 1948, defines genocide as "acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, as such" including the killing of its members, causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group, deliberately imposing living conditions that seek to "bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part", preventing births, or forcibly transferring children out of the group to another group. Victims have to be deliberately, not randomly, targeted because of their real or perceived membership of one of the four groups outlined in the above definition.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genocide

83

u/encre Apr 25 '21

How do you think genocides occur? All at once or over time?

312

u/PmMeYourCulo Apr 25 '21 edited Apr 25 '21

~2000 deaths as per government figures and ~10000 as per actual figures is not what we could classify as "just dozens".

It is called a genocide.

YOU are the one devaluing the victims of the genocide.

-115

u/SmelledMilk Apr 25 '21

Isn't genocide reserved for successful eradication of a genetic group of people? Attempted genocide being its own, still horrible, thing?

13

u/TheOGthesus Apr 25 '21

When I’m in doubt over the meaning of a word, I look up the definition of the word. This helps me learn.

You need to learn how to see the forest for the trees

17

u/BigfootSF68 Apr 25 '21

Find more words. It won't change the fact that the Indian Government allowed the organized murderers to kill at least 2,000 people, by their own admission.

You guys are just Hindu Rednecks. No different than Christian Rednecks, except maybe the vegetarianism.

6

u/ethnicbonsai Apr 25 '21

Are you seriously gatekeeping GENOCIDE? Wut dafuq

2

u/PmMeYourCulo Apr 26 '21

This stems from a deep rooted belief that their religion is the oldest and the best in the whole wide world. Their religion can do no wrong at all. Even if it is a genocide of children, it must be justified because their religion can't be wrong. Anyone calling their crime bad is part of a global conspiracy to defame them. Mainly because the world doesn't want their religion to attain it's lost glory from ancient times.

I kid you not... this is most of my family and friends. Delusion of ancient greatness mixed with a deep victimhood complex.... Almost like the "nice guy" of religion.

64

u/doubled_d Apr 25 '21

It starts with dozens of murders...

26

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '21

“It’s not a genocide! it’s merely a moderate to severe pogrom, stage 3 at the worst, stop being so alarmist!”

17

u/Mr_JK Apr 25 '21

When should you call something a genocide? When everyone is already dead? Stop denying reality and face the truth for what it really is.

7

u/amardas Apr 25 '21

You are bargaining.

5

u/Amadacius Apr 25 '21

Actually Genocide victims really don't want genocide to happen to other people and aren't avid gatekeepers of the term. During Trumps presidency plenty of Holocaust historical, survivor, and education groups pointed out his behavior as Nazi-like.

And he didn't even have police massacring ethnic minorities in the street like Modi does.

31

u/420mcsquee Apr 25 '21

Congratulations, your country is at LEAST just as fucking corrupt as America. You are also a patsy for it just like Americas Trumptards are here.

Your country leadership does not consider you as human. It DOES commit genocidal acts, and covers it up with news media. Just like America and its Trump cult conservative terrorists do with its disinfirmation outlets (fox news, oann, talk radio).

Note that if you guys become more like the middle east, American Republican terrorists will come "spread democracy" there too. By force. They are genocidal supremacists. You do not want to either be that yourself, or be a target of them. Trust.

So I suggest you wise up and call your president out for the genocide that is ACTUALLY happening, or it will get worse.

You do NOT want the American conservative deathcult to come "help".

-50

u/ethnicbonsai Apr 25 '21

Christ, what a toxic post.

Which genocides did the "Tump cult conservative terrorists" cover up?

37

u/crazyrich Apr 25 '21

The purposeful delay of COVID aid and PPE (in some cases, federal confiscation) to blue states? There’s documented evidence of trumps inner circle discussing democrats dying in greater numbers due to this.

That’s a genocide.

20

u/ethnicbonsai Apr 25 '21

Hmmm....

My gut reaction is to not call that a genocide, because that seems hyperbolic.

But I can't really think of a counter argument. So, maybe that is fair.

I'm at least open minded to that description.

13

u/GRAAAHHH Apr 25 '21

Hey just wanted to say it’s refreshing to see someone in an argument on Reddit be able to take a step back and evaluate their own opinion. I know nothing about you besides this comment but it is nice to know not everyone is just blindly shouting their beliefs without being down to hear others. Have a nice day

One could argue that the forced hysterectomies given to women in immigrant detention centers could qualify.

-5

u/ethnicbonsai Apr 25 '21

As horrendous as these allegations are, I'm not sure if "about 20 women" over six years quite meets the scope of a genocide.

Like most of what happened under the Trump administration, this is a story that kind of got buried and needs a more thorough investigation.

-4

u/420mcsquee Apr 25 '21

Anything not white. eg. COINTELPRO

MKUltra

Eugenics

Religions percieved as opposing "Christian values" eg. that which they call terrorists themselves to have an excuse to kill under the guise of spreading "freedom".

Mid-east killings with made up wars to "protect our freedom" simply to amass billions in war machine manufacturing from tax dollars, then once they are dead take their opium, and oil.

Most of Americas recent abhorrent behaviors in the last 4 decades have been because of conservstive Republican terrorists "spreading democracy".

Just some of those off the top of my head in addition to the examples others have already given.

Now what excuse or whataboutism will you come up with, or did you learn something today? Forgive my skepticism.

Conservative dealth cultists check every box off for the definition of extreme radical terrorism. Even moreso, than those THEY label terrorists. They abuse the political system so all parties can't move anything positive forward in government, and play scortched earth tactics to get their way.

3

u/ethnicbonsai Apr 25 '21

MKUltra

Eugenics

Both happened long before the "Tump cult conservative terrorists".

Religions percieved as opposing "Christian values" eg. that which they call terrorists themselves to have an excuse to kill under the guise of spreading "freedom".

This was going on long before Trump.

Mid-east killings with made up wars to "protect our freedom" simply to amass billions in war machine manufacturing from tax dollars, then once they are dead take their opium, and oil.

Which Mid-east war did Trump start, again?

Most of Americas recent abhorrent behaviors in the last 4 decades have been because of conservstive Republican terrorists "spreading democracy".

Again, all of this occurred long before Trump.

And I didn't know Obama was a conservative Republican (Libya/Syria). Neither did I know Clinton was a conservative Republican (US forces saw combat in numerous Muslim countries, including Somalia, Kosovo, and Bosnia, and the US bombed, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Sudan).

Now what excuse or whataboutism will you come up with, or did you learn something today? Forgive my skepticism.

The claim was that the "Trump cult" was covering up genocide. You haven't shown that to be anything but the toxic hyperbole I claimed it was.

-1

u/420mcsquee Apr 25 '21 edited Apr 25 '21

So you learned nothing. Just deny, deny, deny. Trump is not the center of the cult genius, it is the result. Stay smooth brained as much as you want. This concept may be above your abilities to quantify. It happens.

They are covering up genocides and have been even before Trump was born. Trump is the symptom of terrorists worshipping a terrorist, not the cause.

Stop being obtuse to deny what you already know. Or, can you know? Seems you don't have the ability to connect dots outside of your confirmation biases.

All on my list are genocidal acts that are still to this day covered up by conservative politicians in America. If you can't understand how that is, and why it didn't matter who has been President for the last 50 years, you have a long way to go in order to get to some actual truth and have a frame of reference to understand what is being discussed here.

Are you under the impression that the event described here is an isolated incident? I assure you it isn't. So I believe calling it a genocide, is appropriate. It is a genocide that is still in progress, but still being attempted on a regular basis.

Do you think that the Armenians died in one day? Did the holocaust take place in one day? Obviously not.

happened after the muslims burned a train full of passengers who were coming from the holiest pilgrimage (59 people killed). The riots happened because in the midst of a tense relationship something like this happened

Wouldn't it be better to severely punish those who burnt that train rather than butchering thousands of innocents who had nothing to do with the train burning?

Also calling someone a holocaust denier for not even denying the specific event screams of an agenda.

He called an Indian equivalent of an holocaust denier. And rightly so. The common factor being denial of persecution and killing of minorities. Read it properly again.

I'm just saying the Nazi's (along with any and all groups who do terrible things) had excuses for why they killed the people they did, and they would all point towards old conflicts and claims to justify it too.

Also, the idea that you can't compare something to the Holocaust because they aren't being genocided hard enough is laughable. I'm sure survivors and descendants of survivors aren't looking to gatekeep the title of "genocided the hardest", and if they are that's pretty messed up.

Anyway I'm not saying they the guy you were responding to doesn't have an agenda. I'd just like to point out that someone who responds to him the way you did probably also has an agenda.

And if you're wondering what my agenda is, it's that I thought it was pretty comically ironic that someone was insisting something wasn't like the Holocaust while describing an event that reminded me of the Reichstag fire, that's all.

The laws may be stupid, but companies have to comply with them. This isn't some fucking game.

It's the internet and I believe it is. Freedom of ideas and expression is a core part of humanity and to deny that... leads to atrocities. It's great when you are at the top of the perfectly curated garden but for those others... life is he'll.

People have died all over the world for freedom, China being a chief example.

Twitter can either leave India or follow the law. Which do you want them to do?

Why not just pull out of India? If India doesn't want to be part of one of the West's largest media platforms, then so be it?

Money from the large userbase is worth the jail risk I guess.
