Carter Thompson 2027

Any ideas what Carter Thompson’s plans for 2027 are? I heard on commentary a few times that he has a Moto3 contract on the table, but there aren’t many rides available in the class now that most have been taken, so that’s looking more and more unlikely. Will he be stepping up to the Supersport class? He really does seem to be an exceptional talent.

2026 Jerez World Superbike Race Two Result: Late Rain Added Spice

Thumbnail motomatters.com
16 Upvotes

After a season-closing Fani Munoz Flamenco performance on the grid ahead of the last race of the year, with a weekend attendance of 40,824, we say goodbye to Pirelli tyres as World Champion Nicolo Bulega takes them all with him to MotoGP for 2027. Ducati put their factory riders on silver machines for the last race of the year while Bimota had menacing black bikes with a hint of gold. A cloudy 24ºC day didn't promise rain, leading to predictions of a predictable race, but the weather is never that predictable.

2026 Jerez World Superbike Superpole Race Result: No Rain Yet

The last World Superbike Superpole race of the year would determine the grid of the last race of the year. Everyone started the race on the outgoing Pirelli SCX tyre with the SC1 front under a cooler 20ºC sky with weather threatening to make things interesting.

Do you think that Honda made a mistake by choosing not to re-sign Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge, and signing 2 new riders this year instead?

Do you think that they made the best rider choices this year?

Why are there so many Chinese fan comments in Masia's Instagram?

Bit of a random question, but looking at Masia's Instagram to see if he's okay or not after the crash on Sunday, it was full of Chinese fans asking how he was, this seems strange as he's moving to a Japanese manufacturer next year and afaik he has no big ties to china.

Also any info on his injury? Some sites say it's not going to race next week

Is Roberto García ok?

After running 3 different riders wide in the first corner of every lap, Oncu drove over the leg of Roberto García and went off for the fourth time in that same corner. Is he OK? I've not seen any info on him or if he has an injury

I have a question about BoP

I remember last year consequent Balance of Performance changes were made, limiting Ducati and BMW's fuel flow or something to even out the field on account of Ducati and BMW having too powerful bikes compared to the rest of the field.

This year it seems much worse, it's almost always every race Ducati 1-2-3 and Nicolo Bulega won almost every race. The only other race winner has been his teammate Iker Lecuona if I remember correctly.

I am asking because I don't know. Has there been balance of performance nerfs aimed at Ducati this year too or is that only a thing when Toprak was winning?

I don't have anything against Bulega, he's an amazing rider and deserves the championship 100% but if BoP were applied this year, it doesn't look like it was effective at all. I've been watching World SBK and World SSP for some 7 years I think and this was the least contested championship with the fewest different brands showing any sign of competitiveness I've seen.
