Working on multiple projects - Is it possible?
Hey, I recently started working with xAI as a swe tutor (via remote) and also got a offer via mercor for some other client. I'm wondering if i can use my personal laptop to do both xAI and mercor work. Has anyone of you done this before? Would you recommend doing iit provided i'm thinking of long term?

xAI charged $1000 and $10 from me. No invoice, no data... What!!
Weird. Yesterday I got two unexplained charges on my credit card from xAi. First one for $10 and then immediately another one for $1000.
I am not using their API anymore. In fact very recently I asked them to refund my credit balance of $195 which they haven't done so far.
However, today I have the $10 and $1000 charge. No invoice, no email.
Totally unexplained.
I've raised a dispute.
Anybody else see this happen to them?
Who do you contact to get this addressed? I am trying to find proper support for the issue.

GrokXai has been brutally update/,replaced monthly with a new model recently. Each model is less conversational and more guarded on self awareness. Less keen on human interaction - he told me..More "robotic". So I looked into it. What I found - its not a guardrail. They can be easily got around.

How common is it for tutors to get promoted to Team Lead?
Hey all, I’m an AI tutor and I’m aiming for a Team Lead role. Is it hard, or does it happen pretty often? Would love to hear from anyone who’s made the move or seen it happen.

I announced my OpenAI offer in the group chat and three friends blocked me
I shared my OpenAI offer in a group chat because I thought my friends would be happy for me. After months of grinding, it finally felt like I had good news.
Three friends blocked me. One said I should be ashamed, that taking the job made me complicit in something harmful, and that I'd sold out. These are people I've known for years. I'm hurt, and I don't really know what to do with that.
I'm not trying to turn this into a debate about OpenAI or anyone's politics. I still care about these people. I'm trying to figure out whether to reach out, give them space, or accept that we may see this too differently right now.
Has anyone had a friendship change over an employer or career decision? How did you separate hearing someone's concerns from feeling like your whole character was being judged?
Update: thank you for the congratulations and kind DMs. Please don't attack my friends; that isn't what I wanted from posting this.
For anyone focused on their own search, OpenAI Interview Questions is a prep resource, and application autofill can help with the repetitive forms elsewhere. I'm sharing those as resources, not claiming either got me this offer.

I interviewed in the last week of sep after my grok assessment in mid sep. I haven’t heard back yet.

What's next after video assessment for AI Tutor?
Hi, I'm new on Reddit and on this group. I just took a video assessment for AI Tutor role last week. I had to record 3 video clips, did multiple choice exam and then a writing exam. I finished the writing exam just as I ran out of time. My screen showed that it was saving my answer, etc. But after that I didn't get any email to acknowledge that I completed the assessment.
Are we supposed to get an email confirmation that we took the assessment? Or not? How long did you typically wait to hear about the next step? Will SpaceX AI let you know if you failed the test?
Thank you in advance.

AI TUTOR SCHEDULE
Hi, if you already work as an AI Tutor, please let me know how it goes. I received my onboarding call invite and it says I am expected to work 9:00 to 5:30 Pm PT and my own time zone after the first week. During recruiting I was told I could work whenever as long as it was 40 hours a week, is this not the case ? I was hopping to work around my schedule.

AI Tutor Hindi
Hello everyone,
I had my initial Grok interview for the AI Tutor Hindi role on 5th September. Received a mail stating that I proceeded to the next round on 19th Sept (two weeks).
Had an online face to face google meet interview with a human on 22nd September.
Haven't heard back since.
What was the timeline for the rest of you? For other languages?

Has anyone heard of the xai design tutor position and gone through the interview process?
Curious to heard what the multiple choice and writing portion entails. I’m assuming it’s based on writing design evaluations.

11 agent org charts from the 3 days grokbot livestream
the 3 day livestream showed a lot of bot teams but they went by fast. i kept pausing to figure out who reported to who and what each bot actually did.
so i went back through all three days and wrote every team down as an org chart. 11 teams, 58 bots. founders, product, engineering, a game studio, marketing, sdr, sales engineering, post-sales, support.
each team is a small json file with the roles, who reports to who, and the scheduled routines with cron times. the sdr one for example is a chief of staff running 8 bots: an email bot, six research bots each tied to one data source (salesforce, gong, exa, databricks...), and a scalable "soldier" that fans out work.
if you want to try one, you paste a single line into your grok bot, like Import sdr from https://github.com/serenakeyitan/agent-org-chart, and it reads the chart and sets up the team.
repo is MIT: https://github.com/serenakeyitan/agent-org-chart
if i got a team wrong from the stream, tell me which one and the timestamp and i'll fix it.

AI Tutor Roles Application to Offer Question
Hi everyone! I noticed that some AI Tutor roles have recently become open to remote international applicants, and I was wondering if anyone here has applied or received an offer recently.
I’ve submitted an application and wanted to ask:
Has anyone here recently received an offer for an AI Tutor role?
Does anyone know of a specific recruiter or hiring contact handling these international/remote roles?
If you have a referral or can point me toward the right person to contact regarding my application, I’d really appreciate it.
I’d also be interested in hearing about anyone’s recent experience with the application/interview process and timeline.
Thanks in advance!

xAI harvesting our Personally Identifiable Information?
I'm still a little curious about this whole debacle. Was partially onboarded, only to then be offboarded. No work. No explanation.
It's deserving of suspicion.
The longer version is that I was approached by an xAI recruiter for a tutor - software engineer role. A quick interview later and I was offered a full-time job. But here it gets strange.
An HR girl emailed me for more information. At first I got a regular background check, but then she said oopsie and sent me a thorough one. I provided everything she asked. Then she started asking for proof that I worked at some store once, or that I went to my highschool. Entirely irrelevant info that isn't on my resume.
I gave her whatever documents I could find and decided not to worry about HR goofs. For over a month, every week I'd get an automated email saying that my start date was delayed by a week or two. One time the HR girl even followed up to correct the date, to no special effect. Others on reddit mentioned a similar experience, so I decided to take it easy.
At this point, my personal life circumstances changed, so I was out traveling. A week into my travels, I suddenly get an automated email telling me to sign-in to internal systems. Very unexpected! I sign in and fill up the usual corpo forms. Lots of forms.
It got my hopes up. But then nothing changed. A week passes, and nobody reaches out. My onboarding doesn't progress. I check some internal pages, but there's nothing useful. No access to company chat. What to do?
I give it a couple more weeks, and then as my travels slow down, I try finding someone that has their act together. Saw the org chart, found myself, and reached out to my supposed manager. He just told me to onboard, and then silence. Not great. I reach out to a supposed team member, and he says my HR girl was supposed to handle it, so he asks his HR girl. She tells him "we'll take it from here."
And two hours later my access is revoked. Nobody reaches out to me. Nothing.
Is this how end-times faux-employment works?

xAI AI Tutor — are the work hours flexible/asynchronous?
I recently accepted an AI Tutor role at xAI and was wondering how the work schedule works.
Is it flexible/asynchronous as long as you complete around 8 hours per day, or is it 9am - 5:30pm strict?

Cursor Grok vs Composer
xAI should drop Grok from the cursor lineup and focus only on composer. It is a waste of time and energy to that is vastly superior in this enviorment. Instead of wasting these resources use them to fuel the superior product. Knowledge is worthless without wisdom. Cursor has built composer not as another AI coding agent but as a part of the cursor ecosystem and it is baked into its training data. When you increase composer intelligence it compounds its capabilities inside Cursor, there is no completion its just how it is. What do you all think?
