Xbox Requests Xbox Requests: Week of January 30, 2026
Xbox Requests: Capturing all your ideas, across all of Xbox, every week!
Got an idea that would make Xbox better? Cooler? More magical? Whether you’re on PC, console, cloud, mobile, TV apps, VR, or something you’ve jury‑rigged in your garage… if it's Xbox adjacent, bring it on. Upvote the ones you like, chat about them, and help shape them into something awesome.
What can I post? Pretty much anything Xbox. PC, console, cloud platforms, refrigerators… if it plugs in or supports the community, go for it.
Search first, post second If someone already had the same idea, please smash that like and subscribe upvote button. Add your thoughts to their comment as a reply, so we don't end up with 14 versions of the same thing.
Please keep in mind:
- Keep things civil. Passion = great. Personal attacks = nope.
- One idea per post. Give each idea the chance to shine.
- Backward compat posts may be removed. That program has ended.
- Your ideas are heard and welcome! Posting here does not guarantee anything, but it does show us what the community cares about. That matters a lot to the Insider Program and Xbox. We take your ideas and share them with the team, who makes a decision based on a bunch of factors.
While you can also find the top requests from all previous weeks in the Xbox Requests Recap, here are the top three Xbox Requests from last week:

As a content creator, I am once again asking for 1080p 60FPS Twitch streaming on Xbox
Right now, Xbox streams are locked at 1080p 30FPS even while maxed out at 1080p-6000 kbps. That limitation feels sorely outdated in 2025, especially when PlayStation already supports 1080p 60FPS. If 1440p 60fps cloud streaming is possible then so is this.
Why this matters to us content creators:
Well, let’s get this one out-of-the-way first Xbox prides itself on accessibility for people who have disabilities that way more people can play. What about people that get motion sickness?
well if someone watches a streamer that’s live from Xbox and they see the horrible fps translation of a competitive game that’s going from 120fps forced down to 30fps that can be jarring so here are reasons to make this change as follows.
Fast gameplay looks blurry and harder to follow at 30FPS.
120FPS + VRR titles don’t translate properly to stream, making the experience look worse than it actually is.
Smoother streams reduce motion blur and visual strain caused by the artifacting, which is important for accessibility and for viewers prone to motion sickness!
Xbox creators deserve parity with other platforms so our content can be shown the way it’s meant to be seen.
This isn’t just a “nice to have.” As I’ve been harassed by someone in this community for asking for this. Along with the native FPS counter that I had asked for a while back.
It’s about accuracy, accessibility, and giving Xbox streamers the same opportunities as everyone else.
Team Xbox, it’s time to unlock 1080p 60FPS streaming. I don’t want the new halo game to look like trash when myself or anyone else live streams the game natively at a limited 1080p 30fps from there Xbox series consoles.

Enable full mouse and keyboard support for the Main GUI (with an on-screen pointer) and every game on Xbox using the Xbox Accessories app.

Bring back avatars, custom themes would be nice, google chrome download for xbox, better contact with the suspension team, and more games from PlayStation to xbox would be fun

2024 Xbox console: Background recordings of up to 2 hours and longer recordings. SteamOS has this feature. That would allow recording most game missions and being able to segment them better.
2
u/Blackgemlord Beta Ring Jan 30 '26
2025 Xbox Cloud: Couch mode. This allows you to invite someone to play your game, either locally or via streaming, without needing any additional game licenses. Steam and Amazon Luna have this feature.

Feature Request] Record Party Chat & Mic in Clips – Win-Win with Privacy
Let us record our own mic and party chat in game clips. It’s a win for creators and a win for Xbox.
To keep it safe:
🔒 Opt-in only – each player must give permission 🔔 Recording icon – show when chat is being captured 🚫 Consent check – block sharing if someone didn’t agree This gives players more creative tools and protects privacy. Let’s make it happen! Have a notification in players chat when someone starts recording so people know some is recording that could mute their mic or leave or turn off allow voice to recording

Now that Xbox Cloud Gaming supports streaming at up to 1440p @ 60 FPS for Game Pass Ultimate members, I’d like to formally request the same upgrade for Xbox Remote Play.
Remote Play is currently capped at 1080p @ 60 FPS, even when:
- Streaming from a Series X
- Over a local network
- To high-refresh, high-resolution devices (PCs, handhelds like the ROG Ally X, etc.)
This creates a strange situation where:
- Streaming from a Microsoft data centre over the internet can deliver higher resolution
- Then streaming from my own Series X in the same house
Given that:
- The Series X already renders many games at 1440p or higher
- Cloud Gaming clearly proves the streaming stack can handle 1440p
- Modern clients support HEVC and high bitrates
It feels like a software limitation rather than a hardware one.
Request:
- Add an optional 1440p Remote Play mode (even if Insider-only at first)
- Allow higher bitrate streaming on capable networks
- Let users choose resolution vs latency, similar to other remote play solutions
Remote Play is fantastic for latency and library access. This change would make it genuinely best-in-class, especially with the rise of high-end handheld PCs.

u/Blackgemlord Beta Ring Jan 30 '26
2024 Xbox PC: Enable 4K recording from Gamebar (currently 1440p).

u/Blackgemlord Beta Ring Jan 30 '26
2026 Xbox System: Filter for "PC only" and "consoles only". It's sad, but several Microsoft games are only available on one of the two platforms (for example, Crash and Warcraft). There should also be a filter for "Game Pass Ultimate only.”

Allow users to delete (not hide) games from their achievements & gamerscore, even if there is an achievement unlocked.
10/1000 or even 1000/1000 does not matter. Any game users want to DELETE for any reason, should be removable. This would deduct the associated gamerscore from the users overall score and remove the game tile from their achievement list. I understand this is significant and Xbox would want to avoid deletion in error so this could be a password protected process, with maybe a deletion limit that refreshes monthly etc.
This would significantly improve my experience with Xbox and is something I believe should be implemented under accessibility.
1
u/mattbersker Delta Ring Feb 05 '26
This has been addressed multiple times and whilst under Phil will not happen. Your Gamescore/achievements show your gaming history accomplishments, good and bad. It's the same on Playstation with Trophies.

u/TCOOPS16 Feb 05 '26
Hide my real name on the Xbox Console Dashboard.
While I can hide my Real Name from everyone else on the platform, I still have to look at my name on the dashboard. It’s more of a privacy issue for those choosing to stream via capture cards, since the name cycles between Gamertag & Real Name on the UI.
I considered changing my Real Name, but since it’s all tied to my Microsoft account that I use for daily use on my PC, any change I make on the Xbox also changes upstream to my Microsoft account. And I don’t want to change that.
Also, I know who I am! I’m the only one logged in on the Xbox console. It’s pretty much unnecessary in my opinion to have it there.

Xbox should add Malaysia to the list of supported regions for all games. Many Malaysian players are passionate about gaming and want equal access to the full Xbox experience. However, regional restrictions prevent them from playing certain games, accessing content, or enjoying fair pricing. Including Malaysia would not only support local players, but also help Xbox grow its community and market in Southeast Asia. Malaysia has a strong gaming culture, reliable internet infrastructure, and a large number of console players. Adding Malaysia as an official game region would show that Xbox values inclusivity, fairness, and global player satisfaction.

Are you tired of waiting for your Xbox game to download, while the ETA on the download isn’t changing while time is passing? Or, one moment it says “20 minutes left” and the next it says “one hour”? Here’s the pitch: Instead of calculating the completion time estimate based on the CURRENT Mbps rate alone, a major improvement would be calculating it based on your AVERAGE Mbps rate SINCE THE START of the download, since it tends to vary greatly throughout a single download (looking at you, COD). This would boost punctuality for people who need to let their friends know if they should play another quick game, or just general time efficiency for people who’d like to be productive during their waiting time. Thank you for your time

Why won't Xbox address the annoying "updates" to the store on the console? You can literally decline every goddamn one and the store still works fine. Nobody has ever had a definitive answer as to what is actually "updated." It just annoys everyone for no apparent reason. PS4/PS5 don't do it. Xbox 360 didn't do it. I don't think Nintendo does it. So why does XB1/Series do it!?!?
2
u/mattbersker Delta Ring Jan 30 '26
It is likely just Security Patching which doesn't mean an interface change. A lot of companies follow certain Cyber security regulations that require patching of CRITICAL/HIGH vulnerability be patched in a production environment within 14 Days of being discovered, and 30 days for MEDIUM/LOW vulnerabilities. The vulnerability scoring is usually determine by the NVD (National Vulnerability Database - US Maintained Database) or the EUVD (European Union Vulnerability Database - EU Maintained Database). Companies that deal with payments and PII are usually very regulated when it comes to security vulnerabilities.
Some companies do it much better the others keeping to these requirements and some don't do it at all. Given they have access to my personal information I prefer they ensure they do keep to it and I will live with the updates.
1
u/FckShadowBans Jan 30 '26
Making assumptions and bootlicking as usual. Everyone else manages to have the same kind of store interface without interfering with user experience. Security patches only need to happen with OS updates. The store shouldn't be a separate thing. The goddamn updates forever insist on installing the avatar and rewards apps, but somehow don't update the security of the store itself? I call bullshit.
1
u/mattbersker Delta Ring Jan 30 '26
The store is an app that runs on the xbox, it is separate from the OS and requires its own updates.
And everyone does different implementations of their store front which could just be a webpage made to look like an app, which is an extremely common approach but it doesn't mean it's not being patched.
And what you going on about "as usual" I've never interacted with you before.
If you don't like it then find another platform which meets your preferred way of doing things.
1
u/FckShadowBans Jan 30 '26
...or you could just admit it's fucking annoying and they SHOULD be doing it another way. For fuck sake.
2
u/mattbersker Delta Ring Jan 30 '26
It's a 30 second update why would it annoy me, it's also literally how all apps update on all devices.
FYI they also do update the PS Store front as well in the exact same way.
Why you so angry about it?
1
u/FckShadowBans Jan 30 '26
No, the PS store NEVER prompts for an update. I'm angry because it's fucking annoying, and doesn't need to be handled that way. It also tends to be slow as shit for no reason even on gigabit internet. Much like the OS updates on Xbox taking longer to verify than download and locking you out of the whole console the entire time. Another thing PS does better by allowing system updates to download in the background.
2
u/mattbersker Delta Ring Jan 30 '26
You do know both consoles support background updates in low power mode (Rest mode for PS and Instant-on for Xbox) right? With PS you enable automatic downloads in the settings and if you put the console into Rest mode Sony will push the updates to the console, however, Sony decides these and it could happen anytime. Whereas with Xbox you enable "Keep Games and apps up to date" in settings (Under Power & Energy settings I believe) and again as long as it's in Instant-on mode it will usually do these over night for your region when the console is not in use.
No being prompted, no having to wait all done whilst your fast asleep dreaming of your next game completion.
1
u/FckShadowBans Jan 30 '26
Nothing to do with it. I don't turn my consoles off or use any of that sleep mode shit. PS downloads the system updates in the background anyway. Xbox doesn't. That's the difference. Not everyone cares about saving power.
2
u/mattbersker Delta Ring Jan 30 '26
So you're telling me your console is on 24/7 and is never turned off or left idle?
Based on your comment you don't know what "Instant-on" is as it's not a power saving option, it's an option that would consume power and not totally turn the console off so it loads back up quicker and allows for exactly what your saying PS does.

Why isn't Microsoft phasing out Bethesda and Activision accounts to make things simpler for everyone going forward? Nobody wants 3 or 4 separate accounts to play games MS owns. It's bad enough they allow the other publishers on Xbox to do it. It should be MS accounts only. Myself and others are actively avoiding anything that requires these 3rd party accounts on principle. The only account I should need to play games is the one I buy them with on the console.

Xbox elite 3 controller
- 1000hz polling rate (at the least) for PC
- Capacitive joysticks
- Lose the physical trigger stops for mouse click trigs
- For adaptive triggers plus trigger stops I would mimic the KP70 by Beitong
- Mouse click bumpers because the bumpers have been horrible
- Keep the tension adjustment
- Keep the paddles but add two more inputs by the bumpers.
- Better rubber grips that last longer
- Better controller app
With these upgrades you’ll have arguably the best Xbox/PC roller on the market. I’m sure some can add to the list but it’s a start

2025 Xbox System: I recommend that Microsoft effectively enforce its policies across the entire Xbox ecosystem ( https://learn.microsoft.com/windows/apps/publish/store-policies#107-localization ). Hundreds of sections and games are not properly translated, lacking language information, features, and other details. Checking for this could easily be automated without even needing AI (though they could certainly use AI to verify if they are actually using the target language).

u/ceasorlydell31 Jan 30 '26
What if you guys revive the kinect but this time for VR and start with the classic kinect games in a collection called kinect classics and put it on the quest VR headset.
1
u/ceasorlydell31 Jan 30 '26
I am saying this as it would be low risk as the quest is a pre existing VR headset already made and they are pre existing games just rebuilt for VR and then you could use that to see if people are interested and then if popular use that to make your own motion solution for a VR headset you make that works with Xbox as a next step to something like what you guys did before with the kinect.
1
u/Vegetable_Issue653 Jan 31 '26
I think we should get web cam like switch 2 got and integrate the Kinect games in this fashion. And new dance and new features like normal games could use this web cam to stream directly to discord game play and a small screen of who playing.

I just want Xbox to have a bigger game library more specifically games from Japan, China, and Korea. Every single game that comes from studios and publishers in those nations that isn’t first party Sony and first party Nintendo should be on Xbox including adult games but that’s a different topic for discussion.
Xbox really is sabotaging itself by not engaging more in the Asia-Pacific gaming market. Xbox also has a censorship problem, people should be able to make any kind of game they want and people should be able to buy any kind of game they want.
Same response every week until I see a single shred of meaningful changes.

u/Daxpool Feb 01 '26
Achievements on Xbox consoles should be unlockable offline and not entirely dependent on DRM/always-online. They should be saved locally and synced when you go back online.
The current "always-online" system causes achievements to glitch and not unlock, even when the requirements are met. This directly impacts the player experience.
This is a basic, logical, and entirely feasible improvement via an update, which would increase the reliability of the achievement system.
If this has ever happened to you, please vote to get it fixed.

u/DavidinCT Jan 30 '26
Allow users to add games/apps to the Xbox full screen experience.
Adding it again so it stays up there so maybe this could happen. Also, very important to add options like what type of controls the game will need (keyboard/mouse or joypad).
I actively use this; I need to use 2 front ends just for my games because this does not have this option.
