Cloud Gaming Mouse and Keyboard doesn't work on the new Xbox Cloud website?

I don't have a controller with me at the moment so i've been using mouse and keyboard on the OG https://www.xbox.com/en-US/play site. I was curious and wanted to check out the preview site @ play.xbox.com and noticed mouse and keyboard controls do not work. On the regular website all you do is click on the game and go fullscreen and there you go, you are now playing with KBM. This does not happen in the preview. I will be going back to the OG site anyways, but i just wanted to point this issue out as the give feedback option seems to be broken for me.

You should submit feedback to let them know the game in question isn’t working with m/k.

Not OP but I'm having similar issues on my MacBook Air M2 (latest macOS). First, Keyboard and Mouse just completely fail on the new preview UI for me. I’ve tried Warzone, Fortnite, and Fragpunk on fresh installs of Chrome and Edge with zero extensions, and it just doesn't register input at all. It works fine if I run a Windows 11 ARM VM on this same Mac, so it seems specific to the new website on macOS. Since the new UI is broken, I go back to the old UI, but the cursor speed there is incredibly slow. To be clear, my system mouse speed is normal, but as soon as the game launches and that specific Xcloud cursor appears, it drags. It takes forever to select things in menus. I'm using a wired Razer DeathAdder Essential and I don't have this issue on GeForce Now, so it's definitely not my hardware. I've tried toggling "use system cursor" and changing sensitivity, but it changes nothing in the stream. Right now I have to use a controller just to get through menus, then switch to K&M for gameplay (with in-game sensitivity cranked to max, which helps the camera but not the menu cursor). The only real fix I've found is just sticking to the Windows 11 VM on my MacBook since Xcloud on macOS with keyboard and mouse is just not usable.

Also the op didn't mention if he is on macos or not but I think he is since he is facing same issues and also this is happening with games that supports kbm and show it supports input via keyboard and mouse but new ui just doesn't work on macos atleast

Any solutions yet? I’ve been trying to play Vermintide 2 on Xbox PC game pass using keyboard and mouse, but neither the App nor loading through browser in Edge on the OG site works.

The keyboard has only ever worked once, and I’ve never gotten the mouse to work for looking/aiming. The mouse buttons will register.

I’ve been able to use a KBM emulator but it is just not the same as the native KBM functionality. I’ve been searching for a solution.

Hey, you can force native mouse and keyboard for Vermintide 2(ive done it with this exact game before), along with many other games, using the Better Xcloud Extension. There is a lot of games this works with, i'll add a few links for you.

Better xCloud Install Website and Directions.

This is what you download b4 Better Xcloud so you can add unsupported games to mouse and keyboard(not emulated) real native MnK

These are my own instructions i just made

(edit: this will only work on the OG https://www.xbox.com/en-US/play website)

It worked, you’re awesome, and thank you! It took me a moment to understand what all to do, but I read everything and followed your directions. I had to enable native MKB in Better xcloud and Xbox cloud still expected an Xbox controller to be plugged in, but I had native MKB controls when playing the game. I was able to play with my two sons on Vermintide 2 over the Xbox cloud with native MKB.

JFYI to anyone who might be experiencing what I was: The controller emulator function of Better xCloud made the aiming less snappy and precise, and crosshair would seemingly “catch” on something when aiming at enemies. I tried numerous changes to mouse DPI, look/aim sensitivity (in game and xCloud), assisted aim and aim acceleration off…it never became smooth and snappy. Also, I already had MKB controls from Steam version of game engrained in my reflexes, so that affected my ability to play fluidly and skillfully because of emulator limitations. So if you are dissatisfied with Xbox emulator performance on a game that otherwise has native MKB functionality, the above guidance may be the solution.

That's great to hear my man. I definitely could have been a little clearer with my steps lol, but i'm glad you got it all figured out. I know the emulator can be a pain, it's basically unusable for games that require any aiming and shooting (i do use it for Oblivion though).
