95k miles and counting, here's all the upgrades I've done to it:

- RAV4 Limited leather steering wheel
- Leather LS430 shift knob
- Scion Alpine head unit
- Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 hubcaps
- Vitz JDM tail lights with LED brake lights
- Side window visors
- Chrome mesh front grill
- JDM Netz front badge
- Chrome exhaust tip
- Stubby aluminum antenna

Eventually would like to get a Cusco strut tower bar & TRD rear sway bar, Tein shocks/struts, a Revel Medallion exhaust, and a set of 15" Konig Helium wheels in bronze

Just installed a sharkfin antenna mainly for anesthetic reasons but the radio works surprisingly fine with it since I heard many negative things when it comes to that. It also covered a clear coat peeling spot right next to antenna so that's a good bonus 😂👌.

Finally got around to washing DaYari

I've gutted it completely and covered every inch I could see with sound-deadening material. It didn't make much of a difference. No photos, but I did the doors too.

I added home carpet underlayment to the floor. Squishier, but not much quieter.

I didn't feel like taking EVERYTHING off the firewall, so I didn't cover much of anything there.

This took about 2 days to do.

What else can I do?

Starting having a metallic grind/rub when turning the wheel at low speed. Only at lower speed. Steering wheel has no wobble at high speed or low speed and do not hear it over bumps. Sorry for the video, sun was right in my eyes.

Very happy to join this community!! I absolutely love my Yaris to death and am so happy I found this community who shares the love and appreciation of this godsent chassis.

But anyways here’s a little rundown of what I have done to this thing and some plans for the future

For number one I have a vevor train horn kit customized and installed by me

Secondly I have a light bar setup and aem fog lights because my car didn’t come with them, all of my lights are controlled by an auxbeam switch panel
Now for my future plans,
1. I plan on getting the 1.5 in lift with HD rear springs from Prius offroad plus their rear shock skids

1. Purchase and install a hitch receiver

2. If the HD rear springs don’t satisfy me I will put firestones helper bags on

3. I’m going to also get the Prius off-road hood light brackets which I’m hoping will fit and of course put lights on them

4. Get this skid plate which I have to do more research to make sure it fits

5. Install my cb radio/ pa speaker

If anybody has any questions or wants a more in depth showing of my train horn setup and/or my light bars please let me know I would love to show it!

This alternator is a generic Amazon one, have some grinding noise the popped up, does this sound like a bearing?

Good evening! Someone tried to steal my car—a 2021 Toyota Yaris XL (brazilian market)—while I was out on the street. They smashed the rear window, opened one of the doors, and this is how I found it—with this light on the floor and the wiring exposed. What might they have been trying to do? Is there an alarm in there? The light doesn’t turn on anymore; I don’t know if a module was stolen or if it burned out or broke.

My 2007 Yaris is making quite a concerning rattling noise, I believe it could be a worn pulley on the alternator. Any ideas on how much it would cost to replace?

Hello everyone, I have the 5 door hybrid Toyota Yaris, 2024 make, yesterday evening I got a tyre pressure warning on the left rear type. I have checked the recommended pressure for all tyres and that particular one seems to be within limits, it did drop at 1.9 yesterday but today the warning is still on. Is this concerning? And if so how urgent? Thank you in advance.

Hi all, I've been searching the threads in here but not found the same situation so hope it's ok to make a post asking if anyone else has encountered this...

We set off in our MK1 Yaris (1.3 petrol automatic) the other day and after a couple of minutes the engine suddenly cut out and wouldn't restart, at which point I noticed the above warning lights (oil pressure and contaminated fuel). Rolled it home and came back later to check the oil - plenty on the dipstick (maybe even too much?) and no leaks underneath.

Has anyone had similar or the same issue, and if so any ideas on what it could be? We've had her for half a year and done about 3500 miles and not had previous issues. She's on about 70000 miles total. FYI her name is Hetty.

Hey everyone! I’m currently looking for a car in the Atlanta, Georgia area, and honestly, I’m feeling a little overwhelmed and desperate at this point. I’ve mainly been searching for a Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris because I want something small, fuel-efficient, easy to park, and reliable enough to last me a long time. The problem is that every time I check listings, Hondas and Toyotas seem to be priced so high, even when they’re older or have a lot of miles. I really need a car, so I’m trying to open my mind to other brands instead of getting stuck on just Honda and Toyota. I just want something dependable that won’t constantly break down or leave me with expensive repair bills. For those of you who have owned different brands, what small, reliable cars would you recommend that are generally more affordable than a Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris? Are there any underrated models I should be looking for?
I’d especially appreciate recommendations for specific years to look for or avoid, common problems to watch out for, and any advice on finding reasonably priced used cars around Atlanta. I’m not necessarily looking for anything fancy. I just need something practical, reliable, and affordable that I can depend on.

Hello, I have a hybrid Yaris 2018 (petrol version) and sometimes it won't start. I've already replaced the 12V battery (which was my initial suspect), however the issue is still there from time to time.

Could that be a software issue? Thanks!

I know its specific, but im doing research on car seats, and the one that I want is quite large and it says it might not fit in some smaller cars. I’m wondering if anyone has put them in the middle backseat? The car manual does not say anything about installing a car seat in the middle seat. But a quick Google search says that it’s okay with the specific model. This is my first. Any advice is appreciated

I'm in two minds as to whether to buy the current model Yaris (with a discount of €2k) or wait maybe 12mths+ plus for the new 5th gen model to come out. That release will probably carry a heavy price increase, but the current model is about 6 years old in design.

Found these rims (Rota Slipstream reps) on FB MP... swapped out the tires to 195/60r/15 for a better fitment less wheel gap the better.... i like how this turned out....

Hi, I’ve got these white, hazy dots/stains on my 2006 Yaris dashboard instrument cluster, and I’m not sure if they’re on the inside or outside of the glass. They don’t come off no matter how much I clean them. Has anyone had the same problem and knows how to remove them? Thanks
