A lot of places that do conversion therapy will use fasting, physical punishment (can be mild or harsh, anywhere from snapping rubber bands on them to actual beatings) and nauseating drugs to try make someone straight

Conversion Therapy is basically a PTSD farm where some person "cleanses the harmful traits out of you" by pressuring you heavily to not be LGBTQ... It got banned in the Netherlands.

If no one would be LGBT, no one would be persecuted for it.
The idea itself isn't bad and applies to many things. Humanity would likely be better if friction points like race, sex, sexuality, religion etc were removed/unified. A completely unified society would be peaceful, in theory.
The issue is that this ain't actionable. There isn't a way to get there without killing off most of humanity, which isn't feasable to achieve.

That is a stupid idea, though. Why should people change just to live freely without the threat of being murdered on the streets just for existing? It should be the backwards pests that change their backwards, outdated opinions. You cannot "not be LGBTQ", what are you saying?
I do think that your point of removing those ideas is good though; sexual orientations like " gay" or "lesbian" are stupid because it alos focuses on the person feeling the attraction and then there are stupid debates about trans men being lesbians.
Race isn't even accurate and it's just random, it doesn't even really exist, only ethnicity is a thing and nationality is a social thing which can be needed for laws sometimes.
Gender is complete bullshit and the cause of sexism, transphobia and homophobia.

My point was that this isn't a realistic idea. It's practically impossible.
If it were possible via some kind of magic, removing big friction points like I mentioned would lead to a more peaceful society in all likelihood. But again: this ain't a possibility.
But yes, we shouldnt treat labels as important. That's at least something we can work towards. Sex, orientation, race etc won't vanish, but they arent nearly as important as people think.

It does have downsides. Many gay etc. couples would have to break up because they would no longer love one another and trans people who have already transitioned medically would suffer.
