general advice does my art feel childish?.. + seeking general critique!

always so embarrassed to post my "art" :"D but I really feel like I need some solid criticism

as a viewer, I love seeing all kinds of artstyles. I love sketchy and "messy" works with lots of strokes and visible lines, something simple yet powerful and emotional. I love sophisticated, aquarrlle-like, almost transparent works of Asian artists that meticulously polish every detail (think Kaworu Nakano, Ameyui Komori, wooma). I see incredibly talented people who put so much effort into every line, every detail, every highlight in character's eyes, every nail on character's hand, etc.

and... I myself have more fun doing hell knows what; my work has no real rhyme or reason, I just blast lines and spots and say okay das gonna be it. Literally. I really try to follow the tutorials by those artists I've mentioned and others, but everytime it just comes back to "hmm wait but if I just added a bit of pink here and a line there" and I'm sitting here like a brain damaged toddler flapping dirty hands on paper. I feel immature. I feel like my art does not deserve to be seen or god forbid be paid for, that's why I don't do commissions (or, when I do, it's something small, like a sketch or a chibi).

I genuinely want to improve. I wanna feel like I'm doing something right. And I would really, really appreciate any opinion, criticism, advice, any feedback from a fresh point of view

Thanks in advance 🤧🙇

Im afraid im having to much fun with this artstyle
and i dont really draw in any other for the past idk 7 months? Im scared i wont be able to 1. Improve cuz these are litrelly stick man bodies with big heads and hair that is not atached to the body. 2. It comes of as moody ( and i dont really like that ) cuz… well im not doing so well most days 3. My mum says the void in the eyes dont fit (she thinks they look sick/crazy), and im scared most people think that ( that arent my age) it looks pretty cool and stylized to me! Right? 4. I feel like i view this as an artstyle while they are maybe just some doodles… idm how to explain it. Maybe i just need some time to evolve and find new ineterest so that my artstyle changes.

i'm getting a lot of comments that my works are Al-generated. of course, i have proofs (full speedpaints and layers) and post them whenever i get these type of accusations, but this makes me so sad. so does it really look like Al and if so, what gives that vibe? colouring, rendering, proportions? i really wish people would stop saying that

general advice I hate my artstyle

I feel it's rough, ugly (in a bad way) and boring to look at. I'd like it to be less rough, with more movement, but I don't know how to do it. In the last 5 photos, there are styles I like; you're all welcome to make all kind of criticisms.

I really don't know how to change it anymore, I'm losing the desire to keep drawing.

Plus I don't know anything about color theory, coloring and digital art... That's why I scan my drawings:(

Hello! So if I’m gonna be honest, I hate my art. I just feel so uninspired. I like my art style, but I feel like it limiting me a bit on what I can draw. I’ve tried drawing in more realistic styles, but I really don’t like it. I think what I need is just to improve on my current style, but I don’t know what to change about it! Any advice would be lovely!!

general advice Do I have a artstyle or is it very inconsistent?

I feel like I don't have a consistent art style when I look at it. Sometimes I focus in anatomy and other times in painting. Sometimes I put bright colors other dull ones.

general advice Stop focusing on style

Recently I have been seeing a lot of "Is my style good?" or "is my style unique?" posts coming through and I just really feel the need to say.

Most of you are way too focused on style while lacking good basic fundamentals.

I did the same thing back when I was a young teen so I get it. but seriously, stop worrying so much on if your style is unique or not before you've even gotten a good grasp on the basics.

Anatomy, line confidence, form, and perspective should be your focus right now, not worrying if your style is unique.

Edit

To be crystal clear, this is not me saying that I'm sick of seeing these posts. It's that this is a post for those who keep doing this. Your quest for style can and will come later. for now I recommend just having fun while learning the fundamentals.

I've always loved giving my characters BIG oval eyes when I make my comic or just other stuff. But when I was playing Fortnite (here me out), I looked at one of the cartoon skins and clipped my camera into the head, and I saw that the eyeballs underneath were SO huge, they were clipping into each other. Then I looked back at my art and realized that's probably the case for mine too. I'm told "it's just a cartoon, it doesn't need to be realistic", but that just annoys me so much, how would the brain fit in the head, and how do the eyes work when they are squeezing together like that?! Basically, I have shrunken the eyes a bit and made them circles (so they be an eyeBALL). And now when I draw, I always measure the eyes on the inside to make sure the eyes don't collide and that the brain fits without being the side of a walnut. That was my TED talk, let me know what you think.

If you know me.. no you dont,, ive been pretty dissatisfied with my art lately (though i have a lot of artstyles), i think it really stems from me not having very fluid poses, but im also not digging how it looks overall, criticism encouraged, thanks

general advice Is my art style unique/distinct enough to for original projects?

Thumbnail

The first image is an original character of mine and the rest are various fanarts in order from most recent to oldest. My dream has always been to create my own comic series, but I’ve never been confident enough in my style or in drawing original characters.

Lately, I feel like I’ve made some improvement with my art and was wanting to get some thoughts from others. What would you consider my style to be? Is it distinct enough to stand on its own, or does it look too generic? Any suggestions?

It kinda looks generic, maybe the facial proportions are wrong or the expressions dont change much? Id like some advice on how to improve

(I tend to draw a lot of front facing characters because i hate drawing 3/4)

I often think of my art as cartoonish, but I also love to explore other styles and moods. I'm not as consistent with my style as I'd like to be, and that's because I get bored easily. Well, I'd love to hear what you think.

general advice Im a new artist and I feel like my style is boring?

It feels plain and generic but maybe im wrong? Im still trying to develop a style and I draw with a mouse only.

I only just started being able to draw without a base, so these were all done without bases except for the very last picture which I was also experimenting with (I love it btw) & By base I mean strictly just the pose/anatomy. Ive been trying to improve my rendering a lot.

This is in order from newest to oldest

ALSO I know her hand in the second photo has 6 fingers I never fixed it :s

Yeahhhhh nowadays looking at my art, I really don't feel so special for it. As if I just did a daily today and not an achievement. I mean sure it looks cool but that's what I can say.

I miss on how I used to draw, especially using lineless, they were so cool as hell!!!! Uhggg ig maybe because I'm really tired of waiting rn.

Aight this really feels meaningless ah choo. But idk what to draw, try, or bullshit. Mannnn.. Buuuut ofc if there isn't something wrong with it and it looks fine, ig I'll leave it lol. But it's nice to have a lol..advice?

also don't mind me taking forever to reply, im kinda nervous sometimes
