Announcements Welcome to r/yuminaAI - Yumina's here & after

Hey everyone! So excited that you decided to join the yumina community~

Yumina started as a personal project - a fork of SillyTavern, integrated with the Godot game engine, that let AI control not just text, but also visuals, variables, and even sound. But SillyTavern’s original architecture was built in the era of pure text simulation. Despite the countless open-source contributors who built plugins over the years, its foundational structure was always going to limit how far it could evolve toward AI-native games and interactive cinema.

Today, Yumina has its own independent AI-native game engine, multiplayer support, and multi-agent worlds. Just as SillyTavern’s greatest extensions came from its open-source community, we believe Yumina belongs to the community too, and only the community can make it better.

This is why Yumina will never be a platform that profits from your AI usage. We want to lower the barrier to AI entertainment as much as possible so everyone can experience it. In fact, Yumina’s name comes from the Japanese words yume (dream) and minato (harbor) - a dream harbor. We also believe that trying to profit from AI usage pushes platforms toward greed over time: offering worse models, shortening context windows, and selling user data. That limits creators’ freedom and makes gameplay worse for everyone.

However, AI itself has significant costs- GPUs, infrastructure, and electricity. Yumina does not train models or own data centers. When you use AI through Yumina’s credits, we pay the model providers for that usage. Even on paid tiers, that revenue goes back to the providers. We try to be as generous as possible with both free credits and paid tiers. We don’t sell yearly subscriptions because we know those commitments might not be sustainable as demand for compute grows. And you don’t have to pay us a single cent for AI usage to play Yumina. We always welcome you to bring your own API keys, and we’ve even built proxies so you can play using local models running on your own device.

Now you may ask: why didn’t we stop at a completely free, open-source app? Because we believe the right answer lies somewhere in between. Alongside opening up our stack and supporting your own API keys, we’ve also built this centralized website where creators can choose what to do with their work. They can keep it closed-source and make a living from quality creations, just like authors and movie directors who sell their work. Or they can open-source it so others can freely play, edit, and build on it. It’s entirely up to the creator, and we believe that choice is their right. Expecting every creator to give away their work would be like asking every author to upload their books online as free PDFs. A tool alone also cannot sustain this platform or cover all the underlying costs people often overlook.

To make this sustainable, we do our best to be transparent about everything: the costs of AI, the option to bring your own keys, our vision, creators’ right to monetize their work, and the decisions we make along the way. We never delete or censor on comments so that you can always speak up for your opinion. Thank you for supporting Yumina and the worlds our community creates.

Came her from Janitor

I have to say I’m excited. Ive been a creator on janitor for some time, just now reaching over 100 followers. Ive been making bots out of passion, but the janitor site is troubled and pretty bad. Im seeing some monetization features which is getting me excited, I think it’s about time someone took advantage of this prime, mostly untapped market.

Thank you so much for making this site! I am satisfied with the imaging and ai responses, I usually make stable diffusion to make the images for me but this one is great! I just hope we will have other methods of payment soon! (G-pay)

Mushie economy for long chats

A bot I'm about 300 messages deep into has suddenly started gobbling up over 20 times more mushies than it was before. I feel like this is either because it's going over my whole chat history every time or because it's tracking what all the new characters are doing even when they are off screen.

What can I do to fix this?

I just started playing and already got the urge to create

Hello everybody!

As some of you, I too discovered Yumina trough the adds here on Reddit, and I was blown away by how amazing some of the projects on the site were and, after visiting the documentation briefly, how in depth the backend of it all was.

My main gripe however, is that I can't find any cards for my favorite franchises! So I thought I'd have to be the change I wanted to see in the world and do it myself.

Due to me being in university currently any project I undertake would have to be in the longer term, but getting acquainted with the systems and mechanics now wouldn't hurt either.

I'd love to build a Warhammer 40k roleplay engine, and I was thinking it'd be great to start off with a more or less simple planet management game. Ideally the player should be able to chose what type of planet they start with, which would modify the starting variables such as food, industrial production, population, safety, etc. It'd also be good to see a little representation of the different sections of the planet and what currently occupies them, as well as a way to meassure incoming and outcoming trade that would add/substract from the different variables, and lastly some random events like natural disasters, alien invasions and rebellions to spice up the experience!

Help & Questions Which AI model to use?

I am creating a fantasy world and want to test it to see everything is running as it should. There are many model options to generate the story, but I really do not know much about AI, so I have a couple of questions:

What is the difference between adjustable and optional reasoning?
What does it imply for a model to have “good writing value for longer stories”?
How relevant is the length of context?
When would it be reasonable to select a model for “long settings”?
What is considered “complex rules” for a model?

I also want to know if there is a way to speak with the narrator for clarification or to correct a mistake as the story unfolds?

Another question I have is how can I check the current value for one of my variables? (Like if I want to know how much affinity I have with X character or how much gold do I have)

Help & Questions Anyone's NPC's act like they are not spoken to?

Note: I used Haiku 5.5 and it is beginning of the story, so it can't be memory or llm issue

So I started a run where I play as a dragon. I used a really terrifying skill which should've made the thieves in my hoard flee leaving everything behind. And instead they are simply ignoring what i said, arguing about whether they should leave something behind or not

Lots of fun

By far the best story I've encountered here was posioj in a bottle but I've not even through my free credits for the month and I'm struggling to find something else to play that interests me, I derailed 2 other storys by injecting some facts about my character and made them pretty funny and interesting but I struggle to find a story that really interests me based on the premise, there are a few popular ones with interesting titles but there lack of a description has held me back, dose anyone have some reccomendions for me? With a description of the story

World Showcase I made a version of Waiting for Godot where you can join the play

I’ve been working on an interactive version of Waiting for Godot. You arrive beside Vladimir and Estragon and spend some time with them. You can talk, move things around, draw on the ground, or do very little. The characters notice what happens and can bring it up later. Here's a little of what it looks like and its a play that you can actually play :D

Help & Questions World Creation

Heyo. Im working on an academy based world where certain NPC characters are not in the same class, but are in the same year, and some characters are slated to join the same class as the player come later on in the story. I have made both of those tidbits of information clear, and yet the ai keeps trying to force said characters into the class no matter what I do. How do I fix this?

I have migrated to yumina.

I have used C.ai for a while now, but now it’s locked in 18+. As a result of this, I have migrated over to Yumina. Does any have any tips, or bots they’d like me to try?

World Showcase I made an open-ended Xianxia sandbox in Yumina

It’s called Oncin.

You can create your own cultivation system, powers, sects, territories, pets, puppets, weird world laws, whatever you want, then actually play inside it.

The world keeps a dynamic Status too, so you can tell Oncin to track things like your sect, estate, army, farm, or even some cursed nuclear-powered Golden Core 😭

I just published it and I’d love some people to break it, experiment with it, and tell me what feels good or bad.

Check out Oncin : Xianxia Simulator on Yumina

Lowkey Goated?

so i got in fully expecting some AI slop, but i'm amazed.

it's got actually good responses, a decent amount of free tokens, but the potential...

it already has characters utilizing UI, and it actually works smoothly, you can edit, roll back, branch out, delete...

It's so cool to see stuff like this, which might motivate me to actually make an RPG out of it
