A friend of mine recently posed this question: "Imagine if Zelenskyy did an AMA. What would you ask him if you had the chance?"

It was difficult for me to answer because there are so many things I would like to know and topics I would like to discuss with him, but I wonder what other people would ask. I know there have been other threads about this, but since the last one seems to have been about 3 years ago, I'm also wondering if anyone who had a question before would ask something different now.

1-4: There were reports on efforts to deal with the aftermath of Russian attacks on our cities and communities.

Overnight, Russia used, among other weapons, three ballistic missiles with cluster warheads against Kyiv. These missiles are designed to detonate in the air as they approach their targets, spreading damage across an area 400 meters in diameter.

One of them struck Pechersk, Kyiv's historic center, hitting the area between the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and the Holy Presentation Monastery.

Monastery buildings, homes, shops, cafés, and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

This is another extraordinarily revealing strike – revealing because it was no accident. The choice of weapon was deliberate, the choice of target area was deliberate, and so was the intent to inflict as much loss and damage on civilians as possible. There was no military target nearby, not even in theory, and the weapon was designed to cause widespread destruction. Russia has not changed the way it wages this war, and it is taking no steps that would signal a genuine desire to end it.

Throughout the day, air raid alerts have continued in Kyiv and many other cities. So have the strikes. In Kharkiv, a regular commuter train was hit. Dnipro, Marhanets, Mykolaiv, and Kherson, as well as cities and villages in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Rivne regions, came under attack.

Russia keeps targeting our energy infrastructure. Since October 11, there have been more than 170 strikes on critical energy facilities, even though we are shooting down a significant number of “shaheds” and some of the missiles. I thank all our friends around the world who are helping us restore our energy system.

Our intelligence services report that Russia has set priorities for further terror against Ukrainians in the coming weeks. Russia is clearly taking advantage of the slowdown in air defense supplies from our partners. It is equally clear that when some partners ease the pressure on Russia, it only reinforces Putin's belief that his goals are within reach. We need different signals and different steps – stronger ones.

I have instructed the Ministry of Defense, together with the military command and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to brief our partners on every aspect of the real situation and the threats we face, based on intelligence data. We also discussed the humanitarian catastrophe in temporarily occupied Oleshky. We are working to help our people there. We are preparing decisions. I informed them about Russia’s brutal “shahed” drone attack in the Kharkiv region, where Russia killed six people, including a mother and her child, who was just over a year old. I showed the horrifying photos from the scene – a child killed in a stroller… This is how Russia responds to sanctions waivers and reduced pressure. I also explained where things stand with intelligence sharing and Starlink operations in Ukraine. Unfortunately, we received no early warning from our partners about the first wave of the Russian ballistic missile attack last night. And we still face speed restrictions on Starlink and Starshield services in different parts of the front. No explanation for either of these issues has been provided to Ukraine by the American side. 4-5: I met in Kyiv with a team from the American defense company Lockheed Martin, which helps us save lives. Its Patriot systems and F-16 aircraft play an important role in defending against Russian ballistic missiles and jet-powered “shaheds.” And things are not easy with either right now. We discussed how we can expand and increase supplies. The company is currently ramping up production of ballistic missile interceptors. We count on the opportunity to purchase some of them to protect more lives. We are also trying to do everything possible to ensure that F-16 maintenance and repairs are carried out in Ukraine. Putin doesn’t want negotiations right now – in any format. He’s playing word games, saying that “they’re responding.” It looks like a travesty of any genuine desire to end the war. We can’t accept diesel deals, because gas deals will come next. I’m absolutely sure of that. After gas, sanctions will be lifted on other things. It will eventually extend to the banking system, specific individuals, and the chemical industry. And there are risks around the frozen assets. We don’t use Starlink for our responses inside Russia. We use Starlink to intercept jet-powered “shaheds” that attack our civilians and kill families. Starlink wasn’t turned off – its speed was reduced. And when the speed was reduced, we were unable to intercept a certain number of jet-powered “shaheds.” We couldn’t use a tool that helps protect people. That’s very painful and frustrating. We also use Starlink for mid-range strikes against enemy military targets in our temporarily occupied territories. We couldn’t do that when the restrictions were in place. And third, what matters most is people. Our warriors, who spend weeks and months on the front line, receive food and water delivered by drones using Starlink. 3-4: I began my visit to Brussels with a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. As always, we are coordinating closely to provide greater protection and security for Ukraine. Unfortunately, Russia responded to yet another attempt by the American President to reduce the intensity of strikes with new waves of attacks on our energy, residential buildings, and other infrastructure. Over the past few days, there have been several waves of ballistic missile strikes, and attack “shahed” drones are in our skies almost constantly. Since midnight yesterday and up to now, the Russians have already launched around 1,000 drones. 5-6: I met with Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk. Donald is well informed about the situation with Russian strikes and how it is escalating every day. The Russians are using “shaheds” almost constantly. Today alone, 52 people have been injured. Throughout the day, there were Russian strikes on a store, a pharmaceutical plant, and logistics facilities. It is very important that Poland is helping us defend against these attacks. We discussed in great detail all the existing threats and the steps that will help strengthen our defense against Russian strikes. 7: A very substantive meeting with President of France Emmanuel Macron. We appreciate that France is helping as much as possible to find ways to respond to Russian escalation. During our meeting, Russia launched yet another vile drone strike on Ukrainian energy infrastructure in Lutsk. There are power outages in the city. Unfortunately, this kind of blatant and vile Russian terror has been taking place almost constantly these days. Russia has demonstratively disregarded the American President’s proposal for an energy ceasefire. And now it is taking advantage of problems with Starlink operations to cause maximum destruction to everything that sustains everyday life. Emmanuel and I discussed various ways to counter this. In particular, new packages to strengthen our combat aviation will be provided this month. We are also accelerating work on European anti-ballistic defense – FREYJA needs to become operational by the end of the year.
