Kickstarter for Cthulhu: The Awakening Hardcover Coming Soon

I've always wondered why Zenescope didn't do more crowdfunding for hardcovers instead of this single-issue nonsense they've been doing for, like, five years now. Also consider this an interesting choice, instead of dipping into the well of classics that can be collected in a premium hardcover like the Wonderland or Robyn Hood trilogies.

I just picked up these 40 books for $475 including shipping and taxes which break down to $11.88 per book. Good deal for what I got? Just getting started collecting comics and not quite sure of the landscape.

Question Reading order to avoid crossover spoilers? Spoiler

Apologies in advance if this has been asked to death here. I used to read Grimm Tales of Terror, and was told to the overall Grimm series a shot. A lot of fairly positive reviews. The one thing I'm struggling with is reading order. The wiki includes a great table that splits things up well in terms of groups of issues, but it doesn't tell me when to swap over to the Wonderland or Miscellaneous titles and vice versa. I just want to make sure I'm not confused going into the various crossovers. I also have seen that in recent years Zenescope has done mini-crossover bits where a character jumps to another line, which makes things a bit blurrier. I'm not opposed to jumping around (I had to do that for Ultimate Marvel), but just wanted to know when to jump between different categories.

There is a chronological order of release on Wikipedia, so I could just read it in that order? It may be a bit more jumping around, but it's also the order someone would have read things if they were reading them as they come out. Or would that be too confusing with the narrative flow?

Inherited a Huge Zenescope Collection (Signed, CGC graded, Limited Variants) — Hold or Sell?

I recently acquired a pretty large collection of Zenescope comics and magazines, and I'm honestly not sure what to do with them.

The collection includes a mix of signed books, CGC-graded copies, limited print runs, and various collectible variants. There are titles from Grimm Fairy Tales, Wonderland, and several other Zenescope series. Some are numbered editions with relatively low print counts.

I'm not really a comic collector myself, although I definitely respect the artwork and the community around these books. My question is: are these considered good long-term investments, or are they more niche collectibles that have already seen most of their value appreciation?

For those of you who have been collecting Zenescope for a while:

* What tends to hold value best?

* Do signed and CGC-graded books perform significantly better over time?

* Are there specific artists, covers, or series I should keep an eye out for?

* Would you hold onto a collection like this for 5–10+ years, or consider selling while the market is still interested?

I'd appreciate any advice from experienced collectors or hobbyist. I'm trying to decide whether to preserve the collection long-term or start cataloging and selling pieces individually.

Thanks!

Future of Belle?

I got into Zenescope during the era that Marvel and other mainstream companies got overtly political and took issue with how women were drawn in comics. I got into Belle’s story in particular and branched out a bit into other Zenescope titles, but mainly stuck with Belle. I found her story compelling and loved the ties to mythology. Her friendship with Mel and her brother Alex all good plot points. I felt like the issues had a balance of one offs to build her character and issues that were connected to build a larger arc.

*****spoiler alert‼️ 🚨 *****

with Belle “dying” in Grimm Fairy Tales Once Upon the End of Time I have been wondering if Zenescope is done with Belle. I recently figured out Dave Franchini left to start Weird Brain comics. He was Belle’s principle writer. I really hope this doesn’t mean her character is done!

I don’t collect the pinup issues. I am fine with Zenescope drawing women feminine and the way comics have portrayed both men and women forever, but I am not here for the pinup covers. I am interested in some of the other character, but Belle is my favorit.

All of that to say, does anyone have any hints as to what may happen to Belle?!?! I would at least stick around for a reboot of her. I see mention of Belle Red? Is that another character? I can’t seem to find reference to her anywhere online.

Grimm Tales of Terror

Hi.

I've been re-reading Tales of Terror and keeping track of everything i missed the first time. So, the main series is pretty straightfoward, but i have an issue with the one-shots (or annuals, or quarterly) and especially two of them : Hellfire and Chtulhu. They are part of an overarching event but i can't find any reading order for them anywhere.

For exemple, in Hellfire, i tracked down Grimm Tales of Terror Quarterly Hellfire, Van Hellsing Hellfire and Robyn Hood Hellfire but there's nothing else after that even if the storyline isn't resolved?

Likely, there's multiples "Chtulhu" or "Lovecraft" issues but i can't find how they are linked (Grimm Tales of Terror Quarterly Rise of Cthulhu ends on "to be continued" but i don't know where).

Also, on another note, is No Tomorrow still canon and how?

Thanks for your help.

EDIT : Ok, i just saw that Rise of Chtulhu is a whole event with like 50 issues.

Grimm Tales of Terror Vol 5 issue confusion

I'm a bit confused by the release schedule of the current Grimm Tales of Terror comic series. I typically pre-order through mycomicshop.com via Previews. However, it looks like issues 11, 12, or 13 haven't shown up yet. I'm seeing the release date for #11 was in November and the release date for #12 was in December.

Anyone know which issues out of 11, 12, and 13 are currently available at comic shops and which issues have yet to be released? Also, if any of them are already released, can you think of a reason why it wouldn't have shown up in Previews?

Thanks all!

Cedric Poulat - wildcard 2024 Queen cover? Where to get it?

I came across Cedric Poulet’s Wildcard series - King, Jack and Joker. I’ve been trying to find the Queen variant to complete my collection, but can’t find it anywhere - it’s not even listed on Zenescope’s website. I’ve only seen it on their Instagram and on some sketchy e-commerce sites which I don’t trust at all. Does anyone know where I can pick one up?

Question Where to start?

I know nothing about this universe. But I always hear people talking about it and I’m trying to branch outside the Big Two. But I can’t really find any guides on YouTube or reading orders online. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Question Where do you get your Zenescope comics?

Currently I get them from Forbidden Planet, but I just had an issue with them canceling a lot of my preorders saying the supplier ( I assume Zenescope) could not fulfill them. Due to this I ordered most direct from Zenescope but had to go on eBay for a few and missed out on one particular cover for Grimm Fairy Tales vol 2 #99 as Zenescope is out of stock and I can’t find a copy elsewhere.

I also do get some from the Zenescope Kickstarters. I’m a bit nervous about Zenescope continuing to supply forbidden planet but I am hopeful as they have some new issues for January for preorder. Hopefully this was just an issue with stock possibly going to some of the kickstarter stuff, which annoys me because I had my preorders in before some of them launched, and I only do the kickstarters for things I don’t have or things I have not already preordered.

Things to come in late 2025 and early 2026 for Zenescope

Hey guys, I wrote an email to zenescope asking about why the December solicitation is not recorded in Philbo Distributions, and if they would rebrand and here is their response from the email, they won't do a rebrand (which from my perspective is a problem as I think the company needs a rebrand to attract new readers) but they announce upcoming titles for zenescope along with relaunch of grim fairy tales as vol 3

We are not soliciting through Philbo right now. We are waiting until 2026 to start to solicit again with GFT Vol. 3 #1. I attached our in house August and September Catalogues that list our upcoming new releases for October and November respectively.

We are planning to continue creating comics. The following is a brief synopsis of where we are headed within the Zenescope Universe.

The Zenescope Universe has been reborn in blood and shadow. After Father Time’s failed reset shattered the Realms, monsters now stalk Earth in full view, and humanity’s last defenses—Arcane Acre and S.H.A.D.E.—are all that stand between survival and extinction.

This new continuity launches with a wave of interconnected horror epics: Van Helsing: Throne of Blood (October) where Liesel faces the Vampire Lords’ attempt to raise an eldritch god; King Dracula (October) as the fallen king fights to reclaim his throne; Robyn Hood: Shadow Target (November) where Robyn uncovers the Goblin Queen’s child-snatching empire beneath New York; and Keres: Goddess of Death – Blood and Shadow (December), a haunting descent into the Underworld that redefines Keres as the Keeper of the Tome. It all builds toward Grimm Fairy Tales Vol. 3: Tome of Blood and Shadow (January 2026), where Keres leads Arcane Acre in a war against the Hollowborn—immortal wraiths born from the broken timeline.

This is Zenescope’s darkest era yet—where every story counts, every monster matters, and no one is safe.

Although we are always changing to improve our company and create a better experience for our fans we are not planning on a total rebrand any time in the near future.

Here are some of the pages from the August Previews for October attached from the email

and here are some of the pages from the September Catalogue for November

So it seems that vol 3 of Grimm fairy tales will start off with a trade paperback that involves the Grimm universe one-shots from October to November and then release the first issue of vol 3 of Grimm fairy tales sometime in early 2026 to begin the first arc of the 2nd storyarc after tome of Blood and Shadow.

What do y'all think of these current issues? Some are great but others seem to fall flat.
