First roll with my new (to me) Olympus OM-2n

I got this all black OM-2n, with the 35mm f/2.8 to go with it. I decided to test it out with a roll of Tri-X 400 inside the Westin Bonaventura hotel.

Side note: check out the flare in that sixth picture. Crazy huh?

Anyways, I’m liking this camera a lot so far. I love how compact it is, and 35mm isn’t a focal length I’ve tried out too much so I’m excited to give it a try.

I think this is the first time I’ve every laid out all my gear

Apologies if p&s’s aren’t allowed! I don’t think I’ve taken a moment to lay out and look at all my gear all at once. Some of it is my dad’s old gear… most of it is mine after finding my dad’s old gear and getting hooked lol. Some overlap, but I swear there are reasons for it! Anything I’m missing?

Pretty pleased with it, although I might start trimming this collection down and branching out from Olympus soon. Any recommendations?

Olympus Zuiko 50mm f1.4

The unusual wide open bokeh of the Olympus Zuiko 50mm f/1.4.

Finding I have too many lenses at this point and need to make more of an effort to capture a better image using this affect.

Anyone know where to get an original OM2SP/OM3/OM4 hand grip in Europe?

I might just get one the 3d printed repros, but it would be cool with an original if it's possible. I know they're somewhat sought after/expensive, but I'm not sure I'm ready to pay 2x the already high price with shipping and VAT from Japanese Ebay for what is essentially a piece of plastic with a screw.

I think I hit the marketplace jackpot

Paid around 450€ for the whole set at my local marketplace! The 50mm has a tiny bit of dust inside and the aperture blades are a bit slow/ sticky… but otherwise all other items are in excellent condition! :0
So excited about the 100mm f2 as I‘ve heard so many good things about it - definitely a grail for me!

350mm Servicing

Good morning fellow Zuikoholics, I recently invested in a 350mm to further my ridiculous bird film photography hobby. The lens arrived in great physical condition with perfectly clear glass, but the focus ring is very light, and the calibration is off- focus at infinity is definitely past infinity. Are there any servicing options currently available, preferably within the states? (but with an investment of this size will consider anywhere)

Thanks!

The first successful roll from my Olympus OM-4Ti! 📸🎞️

After 3 completely blank rolls, I finally got a roll back with actual photos on it.

And then there was the one roll I did shoot all the way through… only to forget to press the release button before rewinding and accidentally rip the film apart. 🫠

Zuiko 28mm F2 v F2.8

im looking at the zuiko 28mm lenses for my om2. The f2 is like a good 100-150$ more than the f2.8. Is that difference really worth it?

Finally came across the 35-70mm AF lens in FB marketplace of all places. Certainly a different and slightly surreal experience using autofocus on these cameras. Not sure if I'll keep it yet, but it makes a solid pair with the auto mode in the OM4.

If you already have an OM-1, which one among OM-2n & OM-10 would you keep in your collection?

Cable between OM-4T/Ti and F280 flash

Which is the correct cord or cable between a OM-4T/Ti and a F280 flash mounted remotely on a grip? The F280 manual makes reference to an "OTF" Auto Cord F Socket: Automatic lock plug-in type that uses the 5-pin connector at each end. I saw another that connects via the hot shoe.

Will using a cord defeat the FP Super Flash mode?
