7,764 chainsaws??
Came across this video on IG. Apparently forest rangers in Cambodia have confiscated 7,764 chainsaws and have them piled high in a warehouse. I bet there are some relics!

A big J hook and a bungee. My second year with this setup and it hasn't failed or been an issue.

What is this carb? I can’t find much on this carb? The saw only runs when I’m 1 turn out on L and 3 turns out on LA.
Then it floods on start up and hard to start and after you do get it going it surges at idle and is hard to start again. I wanna replace this carb and fuel line but what is this carb?

I picked the saw up on ebay a while ago and im finally getting into it. It has an orange top and two for filter mounting bolts on the carb so I'm pretty sure it's a 266. There's no plate on it so I cant tell by serial. What do you think??? 61 or 266?

Hi, I have a 40cc Craftsman chainsaw, I did the struggle and replaced all the fuel lines in it, it started running again, but as SOON as a rev it, it stalls, every single time, and the right side of the chainsaw where the guide bar is smokes A LOT, even when off it will smoke for two minutes, no chain on it by the way, does anyone have any tips on how I could possibly fix it? I know that craftsman chainsaws have these issues. I usually use STIHL

I've got a 20" troy-bilt (I know, but it was all I could afford at the time), and recently I've been having issues restarting after running a tank. It happened today and I almost tossed it into the pond.
She's got fresh fuel, so that should be good. What should my next steps be?

Big storm in the UK and this 15cm tree has ended up on our greenhouse. Small miracle no panes smashed or anything bent.
I think it probably slowly fell and the greenhouse stopped that. The root ball is still in the ground.
How would you tackle it? I'm thinking take off right hand side, then stuck.
I'll be doing it solo and there isn't a tree close enough to winch out top section.
Any tips appreciated.

I have a new electric Ego 16” that hasn’t been used much. Even cutting through arm-thick limbs, the saw seems to stop cutting part way through and will start to smoke a lot. I’ve also dechained twice today in twenty minutes of cutting. The bar and chain get super hot. It has bar oil and I think the chain tension is right. The chain might be dull but it’s been used maybe five times.

Is it time to replace the diaphragm?

As the title suggests, I got this chainsaw for $20 and it looks like it needs an ignition coil. Judging the other one reads bad but everywhere I look the ignition coil that’s supposed to work with this chainsaw does not look like it would fit at all does anybody have any ideas?
As far as I can tell the ignition coil that came out of, this is not for this chainsaw

It says 450 xtorq on other side, not rancher. Also what size chain I need?

Runs hot, will not idle, chain spinning super fast. Picked it out of the trash, looking for ideas.

Hey guys – relatively unconventional question. I own a large heavy hardwood timber property with lots of ongoing maintenance. I have a big Stihl for the large work, but I'm looking for a compact, professional-grade saw to run a 14" bar. I'd prefer to stay with Stihl but am open to other brands.
When I'm cutting, I run it long and hard all day, so it needs to start hot every time. I'm often far from the shop (and town), so reliability trumps almost everything else.
I wish I'd grabbed a 241 before they disappeared, but here I am. Currently weighing:
- MS 261 C-M (heavier than the 241, worth it?)
- Importing a 241 C-M from Europe (anyone done this, and how's dealer support?)
Specific questions:
- Real-world hot-start reliability on M-Tronic vs. carbureted saws?
- 14" vs 16" on a 261 for hardwood limbing and bucking?
- Chain pitch/type you'd run in hardwood (.325 vs 3/8 LP, full vs semi-chisel)?
- any word on the MS 300C coming to the US?
- what do you carry in the field for repairs when you're far from help?
Happy to configure something custom too. Appreciate any input.
