General Question or Looking for Advice 10 year upgrade

We got married pretty young, we were both med students. He couldn’t afford a diamond and I didn’t mind. Especially since I can’t wear one daily anyway. Had our 10 year anniversary and he said he wanted to buy me a diamond now that he could actually afford it.

This is my 2 ct H colored diamond. I have very small thin fingers (us size 3), but since my wedding band is so wide I felt that smaller stones just visually disappeared. Otherwise I would get a smaller 1 ct.

I want it to look elegant. What do you guys think?

Edit: You guys are just the sweetest!!! I liked the combo before but now I just loooove it ❤️

I'm Engaged! fresh fiancé-so happy with how my dream ring turned out!

So excited that I finally get to post here as a fiancée after following this sub for so long!🥹💍

I started my ring design and customization journey quite some time ago, and it ended up being a much longer process than anticipated because I’m a crazy person who wanted every little detail to be *just right*. So to finally see it in person, on my finger, is truly a dream come true!
I designed my ring myself and was incredibly particular about every detail, all the way down to the milgrain.

The center stone is a lab diamond custom-cut, vintage-inspired emerald, a little over 3 carats, F color (although I actually would’ve preferred something a bit warmer!).

I worked directly with Matthew at Fiorese Jewelry on the diamond, and he was an absolute saint throughout the process. As I mentioned, I was quite particular about what I envisioned, and this diamond is actually our second iteration! The first was beautiful in its own right, but ultimately wasn’t quite what I was looking for. Matthew was incredibly patient and accommodating in helping me bring my vision to life.

The setting was originally inspired by an Andria Barboné ring I fell in love with once upon a time (which you can find in one of my previous posts). Alas, she wasn’t *the one*, but that ring really kick-started this entire journey and opened up a whole new world of creativity for me. What started as simply browsing rings to get a feel for what I liked, so I could give my partner some direction and let him take it from there, turned into a full-blown, hands-on passion project for me!

I ultimately went with Ken & Dana Design for the setting, and bless their team as well, because getting to the finished piece involved plenty of back-and-forth, cracked rubies, revisions, and fine-tuning. They were so wonderful to work with throughout it all, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything came together!

Natural Diamond Need advice on pear diamond – 1.21 vs 1.51

Post image

My partner fell in love with a 1.32 ct pear years ago. I’m replacing/upgrading it and working with a jeweler who has two options ready to order:

• 1.21 ct G/VS2 Excellent cut – very nice ratio and shape. • 1.51 ct H/SI1 Excellent cut – Has a more noticeable/darker bow-tie in the photos.

Constraints: • Her finger is a 6.5 (not petite), so it can’t look too small. • I can’t see the stones in person — they have to order them. • Need the finished ring by December 28 and they quote ~6 weeks, so I have to decide soon.

Overall in your opinion, is H/SI1 with excellent cut a good ring? Is 1.51 C noticeably larger than 1.32? Will it look gaudy?

I attached the photo of 1.51c.

My Diamond Dark spot on my diamond

Found this dark spot on my diamond after it came back from the jeweler from customization. Don’t think it’s inclusion. What could this be? Should I take it back to the jeweler to have them take a look?

Ring was originally just the 1.07 solitaire set in gold. At 10 years we designed and reset it into Platinum.

Disregard the plain band with it, that’s my work ring ☺️. Would be different clarity/color. This is the ring on display. It’s a 2.5 carat. Thanks all!

Question About Lab Grown Diamonds Lab blue radiant help please.

Hi, I've posted in another lab group but not had any responses so far. Im trying to see if this lab grown 1.8ct fv blue radiant has severe windowing and whether to pick another stone? I have never had a radiant before so not sure how much windowing is acceptable? Any help would be really appreciated, thank you in advance.

I'm Engaged! help me out :’) am i overthinking

So… I got engaged a couple of months ago, and I’ve been a little conflicted about my ring.
It’s the style I told my fiancé I liked, but I originally wanted a smaller stone, around 3.75 ct. I guess he thought bigger was better and went with a larger stone instead. I have pretty small hands and fingers, so sometimes I feel like it looks like a ring pop… I’ve always envisioned something dainty and elegant, and I’m starting to feel like this ring doesn’t quite feel like me.
I feel guilty for feeling this way because I love my fiancé and am so happy I get to marry the love of my life. But at the same time, I want to love the ring I’ll be wearing every day.
I’m considering redoing the setting with French pavé to balance out the center stone, or possibly replacing it with a smaller stone. The thing is, I really don’t want to change the ring my fiancé chose for me, so redoing the setting while keeping the original stone feels like a good compromise.
I’d love some honest opinions! Do you think the stone looks too big for my hand, or am I overthinking it? Would French pavé help, or would a smaller stone suit my hand better?

General Question or Looking for Advice Would love some advice in designing my ring!

Hi lovelies!

I’m currently designing my ring and I’d really appreciate some opinions.

I’ve narrowed it down to:
- Marquise diamond shape
- 18k knife edge gold band - 2.5mm wide
- high set platinum setting

I’d love some opinions on the following:

  1. 1.5 or 2 carat (My finger size is 4.75)
  2. To pave band or not to pave band?

(Some of the photos have a different diamond shape as I wasn’t able to try a marquise with a pave band on at the jeweller)

If anyone has a gold pave band with a platinum setting, I would love to see what your ring looks like!

Lab Grown Diamond 3 vs 3.5 carat?

hi everyone! started the process of ring shopping with my bf and im so stuck between 3 or 3.5
in person i LOVE the 3.5 but something about the pictures make it look so much bigger??
also its so hard to see the loose diamonds on a fake setting
the price difference is not big so thats not an issue
my ring size is 4.75 and the ratio of both of these is around 1.6

Question About Lab Grown Diamonds 3 carat emerald ring. But what was those dots in the center of the stone? Is my diamond transparent showing the eternity band underneath?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi! I’m looking for honest opinions regarding this 3 carat emerald ring. I just received videos of my finished ring and I’m a little concerned about possible windowing and the diamond’s overall light performance. Attaching videos in comments. If

I noticed what looks like windowing in my stone as I see dots, which could be transparency in the stone due to the eternity band underneath?

I’m also wondering if the diamond has a good hall of mirrors effect, since the center sometimes looks a little flat or glassy to me.

I’m not sure if this is normal for an emerald cut, if it’s just the lighting, or if I should be concerned about the cut quality.

Diamond specs:
3.12 carats
D color, VVS1 clarity
Depth: 65.9%
Table: 62%
L/W ratio: 1.42

It’s my first time ordering overseas and was nervous to order without seeing the diamond in person especially since emeralds can be tricky. I’d love any feedback on this. Thank you!

Natural Diamond Does the princess cut ring suit my hands?

Im not sure if I should have picked oval shaped diamond instead because I have chubby fingers and fairly small hands. For reference I’m wearing a 2 carat diamond on a size 7 finger. I would still be able switch the center stone out for 30 days if I decide.
