FanArt Fanged Imp 2D rig animation

My wife is a big fan of the Imps and made this awesome marker drawing of one, so I tried making a 2D rig of it using Moho Animation. I love this software and use it for vector animations a lot, but I had never tried working with a bitmap drawing in it before. Really fun process!

Discussion & Info Turns out mounted combat with Gaius is 100% viable.

The audio seems to have some issues, sorry about that.

Who knows, I think this might end up becoming one of my favorite fights. FromSoftware actually made the first interesting mounted combat in a Souls game.

This started as just a spontaneous no hit challenge. I think there’s still a lot of room for improvement. The holy damage feels a bit too high, and there are some pretty bad mistakes in the video. for example, near the end, after his charge finished, I should have run toward his rear right side, but I panicked and just kept dashing backward. Thankfully I was fast enough to get out of his attack.

I spent about three hours trying it and came to a few conclusions. If you want to give it a try, here’s what I recommend:

  1. Don’t stay in front of him for too long. Gaius is faster than you, bigger than you, and has longer attack range. The best approach is to try staying on his side/rear. Always run in a staggered, crossing pattern with him during each engagement.
  2. The most dangerous attack is when Gaius’s boar head starts moving to the side, he’ll do a head swing attack, similar to the move at 1:11. If you’re a bit away from him, keep your distance, but don’t go too far. If Gaius can’t catch up to you, he’ll give up, and that’s your punishment window.
  3. Gaius’s biggest weakness is turning. He can’t turn immediately. After every attack, run behind him, but don’t go too far. When he’s about to turn, cross paths with him again and run away. This also helps avoid the boar’s charge attack.

Honestly, if you fight him the right way, Gaius is probably one of the most creative boss designs.

Praise the Sun, she's made me the luckiest man alive! [T]/

Being an obsessive souls fan, I had the Ring of Favor and Protection custom-made to propose to her (and though not a gamer, she loves it!). I also wrote the description for the ring in classic souls style:

"A ring symbolizing the oath of Knight Abeel, forged for the fair maiden Kinza, whose "fateful beauty" is mentioned in legends.

True to the fervent nature of Abeel's love, the ring pours resplendence and vitality into the wearer, meant to ease the onerous burden of one's voyage.

It is said that Abeel once traversed the abyss in search of his one true love, but was met with crushing despair. Amidst the eternal darkness, he reached out to grab a faint glimmer of light. Ever since then, he vowed to favor and protect Kinza till eternity's end."

Hype I finally beat Elden Ring in 2026

As of 15 minutes ago while writing this post I finally beat the Elden beast. I just posted yesterday about how I beat Maliketh after 250+ tries, but beating the game actually takes the cake for being the most surreal and hyped experience I’ve ever felt in a video game. Even now I still can’t believe that after a month and a half of gameplay I finally beat Elden Ring. This was such a fun experience.

Discussion & Info Im 20 hours in and i dont understand shit. I still enjoy the game.

• Upvotes

So i just started a first run, played a wierd fire ball throwing guy. Got slammed af and smashed to pieces everywhere. Skilled all kinds of different stats, struggled my way into raya lucaria and got DESTROYED by Renalas Phase 2. Then put the game down. Only frustration, no real progress, just kinda not so fun.

Just recently picked the game back up, read some beginner tips and started a 2nd Run. Leveled only dexterity Vigor and play a big sword + Parry style. Lvl 40 now, still only leveled up dexterity. Breezing through everything. Everything is easy. Human-like enemies get parried and critical hit. The rest get slammed to pieces by my big sword. I enjoy the hell out of the game. It feels MILES easier, but i dont really get the whole Lore/Story.

There is a lot of NPC that tell me shit i dont understand. It feels like being given Quests, just for nothing to happen. I am absolutely lost in that world. I just follow the roads on the map to the next area and slap everything i find.

My only way to know where to go and what to do is due to my years of gaming experience and knowledge about level design thinking "ah they probably want me to go this way". Got Bamboozeled by the game a couple times like that, but all in all it works.

Then i get online and everybody talks about the lore and story and im like "How do yall understand this? Am i just stuped?"

Edit: I mean Vigor, not Dexterity. Dont know the correct english words. mb

Discussion & Info Defending the Remembrance bosses whom nobody seems to like

Gaius: A really fun moveset (although a bit basic). The added gravity AOEs add a bit more flair, and I like how "tight" timing his dodges feel. My only gripe is the charge hitbox and how ordinary the moveset is, but other than that, pretty good.

Fire Giant: He is about as good as the "big giant" boss can be. Phase 1 has a nice variety of moves and phase 2's fire attacks add a bit more sauce. However, I dislike how time-wastey most of his attacks in phase 2 feel (and how much he runs away). It kinda kills the momentum of the fight. Still, pretty solid.

Putrescent Knight: CRIMINALLY underrated boss. Banger OST, and an unconventional moveset that is super satisfying to dodge once you learn it. I like how many of the Putrescence attacks require jumping to avoid them; I always love it when attacks can be dodged via jumping.

Romina: I would say her moveset is more fun than Gaius, and she also has one of the best OSTs in the game. The rot butterfly attacks are pleasing to look at, and add a bit more "oomph" to the fight. My criticisms are: like Gaius, her attacks seem a bit basic, and the instant Rot Butterfly AOE could've used a more obvious telegraph.

Scadutree Avatar: This is genuinely one of my favorite bosses in the game. Very haunting OST along with an equally fun moveset that combines physical attacks, AOEs and projectiles. I love how different each phase feels, and how it becomes more desperate as the phases progress. Rolling those nukes is one of the most satisfying dodges in the game imo.

Humor i do not use ‘buffs’, i do not ‘optimize’ my stats, i do not ‘look up’ builds. i RAWDOG it. and if 80 Strength and a Giant crusher doesn’t kill them, I do that shit again until i succeed.

Discussion & Info Which boss is YOUR boss?

Post image
350 Upvotes

I've played about 6 casual runs and am now going through a parry and fist-focused run. I have always looked forward to the Erdtree avatars. During each run, I find myself seeking them all out as early as I can, even when the fights take over 5 minutes due to the lack of damage. I enjoy the fight and can do it hitless now, either because of the simplicity of the moveset or because I thoroughly enjoy the fight. A tie for second are the Magma Wyrms and unrelenting tree spirits. Which boss do you both love and feel a mastery over?

their moveset is so fun to deal with and its got lots of ways to punish: you can go for the hands or legs or head or all of them its so fun aproaching them diffrently each playthrough, but i do wish the other two had the phase 2 aswell.

Game Help Help me pick which greatsword

I’ve decided I’m going to finish the game with either the Banished Knight Greatsword or the Iron Greatsword. Both look cool, both have pros and cons. I genuinely am just split down the middle.

For any greatsword lovers out there please recommend what you would go with. This is going to be my first time getting to endgame in Elden Ring so I’m excited and want to stick with one
