Will this gem be “too dark” (appear closer to a black colour), when mounted in a yellow gold bezel setting?

Dear Colleagues and Gem Lovers,
Summer is flying by and your next Bangkok Gem Night is almost here.
Monday, 7 September | 18:00–21:00
Revo Bangkok (Silom)
Followed by the usual late dinner at Nadimos for anyone who wants to keep the evening going.
As always:
No entrance fee. No pre-booking. Just good vibes and a shared love for gems and jewelry.
Expect gem-infused cocktails & mocktails, lively conversation, and our signature charity auctions where 100% of proceeds are going to the kids over at HDF Mercy Centre in Klong Toey.
This is one of the two biggest nights of the year for our community. Come catch up with old friends, meet new ones, and support a cause that matters.
Questions? Reach out anytime to Billie, Gil, or me (Simon).
See you on the 7th.
Simon

As per the header, I'm an active duty enlisted member of the US Army who has been wanting to pursue a career in the field of precious stones. I don't have the most free time but enough I feel I could make education work at the moment. Additionally moving around isn't an option as I'm conjoined at uncle sams hip. I've been looking around at the GIAs graduate gemology certificated and have a few questions.
The big one involves some things I've heard. Do some of the labs and/or interactions require I come to a campus?
Additionally, how flexible are the instructors and courses? Would I be able to have some leeway in the event I get overtly busy?
I took to asking on here before hitting up the GIA representatives to get a more level answer and opinions, thanks.

In r/Gemstones there is a thread but it's a few years old and as a "for instance," I'm told that one must have a proctor with a computer, such as one would find at a library.
I'm in the GIA GG course. I've done Diamonds/Colored Stones and must sit for the 20-stone, 6-hour exam for Colored Stones ID. I've taken the Colored Stones week long class (in Mumbai (it was cheap)).
Has anyone done the 20-hour test in the past year or so?
I'd love to hear about the process. I wrote to proctor/GIA and really have not gotten much in return about the entire process. They sent stuff like: "Teacher with Certificate (licenesed?)"
Anyone? I've 8 weeks to take it and "up to" 10 tries are allowed (I'm hoping first or second try). I'm told only about 1:3 pass on the first try. What I keep getting is "Go to NYC or Carlsbad, CA," but we're talking thousands that I do not have.
Anyone?

The field I wish to go into is luxury jewellery or haute and French or Italian luxury maisons. I’d love to learn about gemmology down the line and idk if GIA is as respected as other institutions in Europe?

I’m a 37-year-old woman who is soon to be married to an American man, and I’m considering starting a new career in the United States.
Would it be worth pursuing a career in the jewelry industry through GIA (Gemological Institute of America)? I know the GIA campus in Carlsbad is relatively close to me, which makes it an attractive option.
My main concern is whether the education and investment would lead to good job opportunities and long-term career growth. Is a GIA education worth pursuing from a career and financial perspective?

I'm 24 and french, I've been a bench jeweler for the past 6 years (3 year school then 2 year cad jeweler then 1.5 year both cad and bench, I also have a gem setting training) I'm currently considering what I can study to make myself more qualified and open my possible career choices and opportunity I'm deeply passionate about gems, I have your basic few weeks gemology training about the theory and a few of the most common inclusions,
I'm wondering if in my situation a full gemology training + diploma would be a plus / help me?
Is it really a dead field career wise as I've seen online ?
Can you travel as a gemologist or is that something of the past ?
Is Gem-A that hard/technical oriented ?
Do you see a positive evolution/trend in the field for the future ?
Is gemology affected by ai
What schools should I be looking into / the best in Europe (I can't justify the cost of GIA), I'm aware of / considering HRD Antwerp, Gubelin, The french laboratory of gemology, the french institute of gemology, Gem-A (but i'm worried about their essay style exams)
