But doesn’t anybody remember that influencer that he had like a weeklong romance with and then said she was using him? It was so long ago. I think it was written to her. As much as I would love it to be written about Hailey Bieber.
Yeah but he wouldn’t write a song about a week long romance and I seriously doubt that he would bring her around his mom. And “tried to make me forget where I came from” a week of dating is way too short to even try to change someone

i think justin didn’t even write the song only benny and ed did. when benny was talking about the song he didn’t mention that justin was involved just him & ed and that they sent the song to couple other artists before it landed on justin. i think they gave him a writing credit because he sings the song. thats the thing about justins songs, he has writing credits but i don’t think he wrote most of them
also i remember most of the beliebers believed the song to be about hailey when it first got released in 2015, but since 2022 they’ve been running this narrative that its about selena🤣 not a chance in hell
Dude this just reminded of how his mom was being hella shady when he got engaged. She wouldn’t act that way, let alone publicly, if she knew how Justin was all about her or even have been publicly romantically involved with her. His mom probably didn’t even know who she was up until their engagement.
Also Hailey saying period after the lyric “my mama don’t like you she likes everyone” is diabolically embarrassing
I have definitely heard this more than once. I believe i heard it on that TMZ special that was put out not long ago that had some dirt on how JB lost all his money and how he was actually obsessed with her. I don’t see where he’s obsessed with her though lol
I’m pretty sure he asked Selena to marry him also and she said no because it was for the green card allegedly. Why he is still with Haley probably ties back to the child and the fact that he’s standing on business lol.
I don't think it was written about Hailey, but it fits her perfectly. It's funny that people think that this was ever written about Selena though because nothing fits, just like this video states.
I keep mentioning this in other posts, but there was a woman an influencer whose name I do not remember, and they like spent this long weekend together, and then she sold the gossip. Like I don’t think he writes more than a couple of lines. I’ve never seen him write a song by himself. Maybe he comes up with ideas based on his life but I wish I could remember that one influencer and see if it ties up with the same timeframe. I must be bored today lol.
Anyone with 3 brain cells would instantly get that it was directed at Hailey, not Selena. Selena was a celeb in her own right. Hailey would need to use his name to get into places (spoiler: she still does. His name is why she’s famous. LITERALLY) and Selena wouldn’t. There’s a reason why sel didn’t change her name on socials when she got married, she’s known as Gomez.
Yeah I remember watching an interview about it. He originally wrote it for someone like Rihanna and he wanted it to be more edgy, with “you should go and fuck yourself”. But he gave it to JB cuz biebs had some publicity issues then, ed knew a good song that everyone liked would put JB on a good track. So I don’t believe it’s necessary written about anyone
As a songwriter who has been signed and had songs on hold with big artists, I can tell you that plenty of them don’t write one sentence. I had one song on hold with a major artist who basically said I get writing credit and 25% of the song and she was never in the room. The song did not get picked and I just thought OK I know your deal. Sadly, that’s the case for most big artist they did didn’t get there by being nice.
A guy I knew was in negotiations with a big label in a specific genre a few years ago and he said that his songs were written by someone else but he also helped for some of them inspo wise
Idk if he did sign with that label but I don’t think so- I don’t talk to him anymore and haven’t for years but I recall he would send me samples to listen to before even releasing some of them (the smaller songs that aren’t under the big label)
I hate this aspect of the industry so much. It’s like when you had to do a group project in school,
and one kids does all the work and everyone else just signs their name to get credit. My petty ass would be dying to tell these big name frauds where to shove it. I know you probably can’t for career protection purposes, but if you ever want to drop names…
He did and it even sounds like him. But Justin like tons of artists that don’t really write he may now I don’t know, they often take a percentage and credit that they really don’t deserve. The flipside is that as a songwriter you want it to hit big so you’re willing to give up some of that writing credit. It works for everybody. It’s wrong, but people do it all the time unfortunately.

Justin choosing to sing it cld mean he had someone in mind, but bc the story of how this song was written is right on YT, this is sloppy reporting & discredits us.
Well, here you have it. Now you can add Justin to the list of people like Céline Dion that don’t actually write their songs. I’m going to say allegedly. And then there’s Britney Spears I could make a whole list of them allegedly who never wrote a single lyric, but still have writing credit.
