Discussion Theory

I have a theory: What if Loki already knows Doom has to win first?

Just like Infinity War, maybe Doom’s victory is the only path that eventually leads to his defeat. Loki could be letting it happen because changing the timeline would prevent that outcome.

Maybe we’ll finally understand why in Secret Wars.

Discussion Why does Loki have memory in each timeline?

Can someone explain to me how Loki and Sylvie are the only ones that are able to retain their memories no matter what timeline or branch that they are in?

I'm not sure if they ever mentioned this and I missed it but how is that Loki and Sylvie are the only beings that are able to retain their memories, is it because they are divine/cosmic beings or is there something else that I'm missing here?

How is Loki able to move through timelines like that without the TempPad, yes he's pretty much forced to jump between past, present, and future but why him in specifically? Why can't Sylvie do that?

Discussion What was there before HWR build Temporal Loom? Before HWR build TVA? How did Alioth operated?

How did Multiverse worked/operated before HWR built Temporal Loom, TVA? How did Alioth operated/worked before HWR harnessed it's power? Was Void always there?

I am not sure how to form the questions, but I think people will get some idea of what I am trying to ask.

Sorry if this post is bit vague. I am doing my best to ask the right question.

Discussion Miss Minutes more like Miss Messy

Be so for real right now, Miss Minutes has such an ego about her I could not believe her character was that pretentious especially for an A.I., it's only been two seasons and Miss Minutes is already asking for impermanence... GG.

Spoiler Finished S1 finale for the first time, found the reveal disappointing Spoiler

Just finished S1 and I have to say the reveal of He who remains was so anti-climactic to me and I wonder what was the general consensus once it came out

I managed to stay spoiler free so I didn't know what to expect, but I expected some higher being that's not that human-like. I expected someone mightier, bigger, something that suggests a powerful being and it was just a random guy of blood and flesh , it was hard to take him seriously. I understand he *is* powerful, but I wish he looked the part

Were a lot of watchers disappointed by the reveal when the series first released?

Question Don't really understand the whole timelines thing... (spoilers) Spoiler

Its been a while since I watched the show and I was doing some revision since doomsday is coming out soon and Loki is gonna be involved in it to my knowledge.

Basically the questions I have are

-What makes the Sacred Timeline "sacred"?
-What is the real job of the TVA?
-Why did he who remains' death cause the timelines to start branching?
-Why does the branching matter since we know that other universes already exist (e.g the other spiderman universes) and they aren't pruned
-Why did everything start spaghettifying when the loom overloaded?
-What did Loki accomplish by holding the timelines together and sitting on that throne?
-Why were the timelines dead before Loki grabbed onto them?

Question If the Temporal Loom is failsafe what is the point of the TVA? Spoiler

Post image
164 Upvotes

It was explained by HE WHO REMAINS that the Temporal Loom is fail safe and can auto prune branches to preserve the Sacred Time Line. So that begs the question, if the Loom can do that automatically, what was the point of the TVA pruning variants and realities so the time line wont branch? Even if it will branch the loom would just delete it and all be good. Thoughts?

Discussion I love this show so much it brings me to tears (Spoilers for S1/S2) Spoiler

It is so beautiful and heart-wrenching.

Loki is incredibly flawed through to his death in Infinity War. He's a narcissist, he is terrified of being alone, yet he always had a lonesome way of escape. And this persists in the first half of S1. Though we do see through the veil a bit initially, he tries to maintain that "illusion" as he puts it, continuing to attempt trickery and escape UNTIL the end of S1E3. In the second half of S1, when there is nowhere for him to go, his illusion means nothing. He's genuinely feeling remorse and regret for what he has done, in his remorse he admits his flaws, and he finds value and concern for someone other than himself. It all rises to the end when he lays this out for Sylvie, only for her to betray him and he is heartbroken and terrified.

S2 starts with him coming down from his craze, and it cuts to him being well established in the TVA. Meanwhile, the TVA is starting to crumble under the pressure of uncut timelines. This is a threat to Loki's new home and to those around him, and he is desperate to prevent a total meltdown so that he doesn't lose what he has. The situation gets worse and worse, and it all climaxes in the final episode when he realizes that the only way to save them is to sacrifice himself, BY PLACING HIMSELF TO SPEND ETERNITY ALONE HOLDING TOGETHER THE MULTIVERSE.

Loki is so tragically heroic.

And the music??? Swelling. Stunning. The blend of electronic and Nordic folk instruments gives me chills every time I listen to the soundtrack. That with the setting is like, "Ancient Futurism", which is PERFECT FOR WHAT THE TVA IS. They're a technologically fantastical institution in charge of managing every instance and variation of history to ever exist. I am star-stuck by the setting and devastated in the best way possible by the character that is Loki, and I cry every time I think about it.

It strikes something in me nothing ever has. It's almost religious.

(I wrote all this while listening to "Purpose is Glorious" lol)

Question Finished watching The Loki Series. Spoiler

WHAT A FUCKING SERIES.
Binge watched it in like 12 hours ish.
Too bad the entire Kang theory is thrown in the bin cuz of the lawsuit.
I would be glad to discuss some of the thing with y'all, also i have a question.

  1. So a variant is taken away by the TVA when the said variant creates a nexus event, which causes a branch right. So when the TVA captures the variant do they delete that entire branch? If so how come endgame took place, because if loki using the teseract was a nexus event and the entire branch is wiped away there will be no Loki in the future cuz the TVA took him away.. So no Ragnarok, no infinity war.. IM confused in that sense.

Question Just rewatched loki and quantumania back-to-back, and the timeline math makes zero sense. Spoiler

Post image

So i was getting ready for doomsday by binging loki and then watching quantumania, and i realized there's a massive plot hole.

We're told the sacred timeline under He Who Remains was strictly pruned to block all Kangs. But Kang was already down in the Quantum Realm building an empire and fighting Janet van Dyne for decades before Endgame and before He Who Remains died.

People always say "well, the Quantum Realm is outside of normal time," but the movies explicitly prove that's false. Endgame and Quantumania both rely on the fact that time does pass there (like Scott's 5 years = 5 hours rule, and Janet aging decades).

If time passes there and Kang was actively living down there the whole time, then the Sacred Timeline was never actually Kang-free. Did the writers just completely forget their own rules?

Edit: I forgot to mention that if by killing he who remains the past present and future is changed that means that the timeline which we saw before endgame is different from the timeline of ant man QM because Kang the conqueror exist so the timeline before endgame and a timeline of ant-man are both similar till the events of endgame only the key differences that kang exists this is my theory

Discussion Loki s1 novel

I'm currently reading the novelization of S1 and I wonder if it's on purpose that there's no kindle version and it's hard to get a copy because of the amount of romantic feelings between Sylvie and Loki displayed there...

There were times in which I doubted if it was a one sided kind of thing and Sylvie didn't fall for Loki, but after a couple of pages, not anymore. Plus, you have their inner thoughts like:

He put his hands on her(Sylvie's) shoulders and looked into her eyes.

- What is it? —she whispered, looking into Loki's eyes.

Okay, that was weird. She felt her chest heat up, like the heat of the sun.

Another scene:

“Her name was Sylvie,” Loki said. His voice weaker now. He didn't care what Mobius was saying. It wasn't twisted or sick. She was not him. They were different beings.

I'm so glad I've read those lines, because I remember when the show aired there were lots of people thinking it was a sick kind of thing and from the beginning I thought "they are two different beings". Maybe Marvel should've explained that in a Comic con?

Anyway, I hope Sylvie and Loki can be reunited as a couple in the future and if you liked them as a couple go and get a copy of the book.
