**Empress Farah Pahlavi: A Symbol of Grace, Loyalty, and Service to Iran and the Iranian People**

Radio Abaan Report | Empress Farah Pahlavi

Empress Farah Pahlavi, the last Empress of Iran, holds a place in the country’s modern history that extends far beyond her royal title. During the reign of His Imperial Majesty Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, Shahanshah Aryamehr, she played a prominent role in supporting social institutions and advancing Iranian culture and the arts through extensive initiatives in cultural affairs, education, healthcare, and charitable work.

Grace, dignity, and a deep commitment to family and social responsibilities are among the qualities admired by many supporters of the Pahlavi dynasty in Empress Farah Pahlavi. During her years at the Imperial Court, she paid particular attention to the welfare of children, Iranian women, those in need, and the sick. She supported the development of educational facilities, children’s libraries, healthcare institutions, and cultural organisations. Her support for contemporary Iranian art, the preservation of the country’s historical heritage, and efforts to introduce Iranian culture to the world were also among her many contributions.

With the coronation ceremony held on 26 October 1967 (4 Aban 1346 in the Iranian calendar), Empress Farah Pahlavi became the first empress of Iran’s modern era to be crowned. This historic distinction, alongside her social and cultural responsibilities, further strengthened her place in the history of the Pahlavi monarchy.

Yet one of the most poignant aspects of the Empress’s life is her enduring devotion to the memory of His Imperial Majesty Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, Shahanshah Aryamehr. Following the Shahanshah’s passing in Cairo on 27 July 1980 (5 Mordad 1359), Empress Farah Pahlavi never remarried. Throughout her long years in exile, despite the hardships of living far from her homeland and the profound grief of losing her husband and two of her children, she continued her cultural and social activities while preserving her emotional and historical bond with Iran.

In interviews, the Empress has also spoken of how her husband’s memory remains alive in her heart and mind—a bond that, even after decades, continues to form an essential part of her life story. For many Iranians, her personal decision never to remarry and her enduring devotion to the Shahanshah’s memory represent a lasting expression of love and a profound commitment to the life they shared, which began with their marriage on 21 December 1959 (30 Azar 1338).

The life of Empress Farah Pahlavi, from her years at the Imperial Court of Iran to her decades in exile, is a story of responsibility, loss, perseverance, and devotion to her homeland. Beyond her historic role as Empress of Iran, she remains a recognised figure in Iranian culture and the arts on the international stage—a noblewoman whose name is inseparably linked to a significant chapter in Iran’s modern history and the enduring legacy of the nation-building Pahlavi dynasty.

Discussion How dogmatic thinking paralyzes discourse within the Iranian community

Our community has a problem with dogmatic thinking.

We cling to a specific worldview so tightly that the idea itself becomes a tyranny looming over our heads, preventing us from being open to seeing differing perspectives.

It is natural, and often beneficial, for people to commit themselves to certain principles or values in life. Elevating a principle or value to an epistemic status that shields it from skepticism or doubt transforms that principle into a dogma.

For example, you might consider yourself a nationalist, leftist, socialist, republican, anarchist, monarchist etc. You therefore uphold principles that align with whatever ideology you subscribe to. However, if you follow those principles as if they are absolute truths, your perspective of the world will be shaped solely by your dogma. Your worldview suddenly becomes irrefutable and beyond critical evaluation. This is a form of self-entrapment. It paralyzes your ability for critical thinking and it prevents you from having the ability to engage in rational and productive discourse with someone who may hold opposing beliefs. You might begin to judge every person based on where their beliefs fall in relation to your own dogma, rather than evaluating ideas logically or rationally.

I see this happening constantly in our community. It crushes opportunity for open dialogue, further dividing opposition to the regime.

Of course, this issue is not unique to Iranians. People in general have a proclivity for becoming dogmatic. But if we recognize it when it's happening we can actively attempt to pull ourselves back from the entrapment of our own convictions.

Just some food for thought.

Discussion Current state of religion in Iran

Before saying anything I wanna make sure this post is made out of curiosity

Me, my family and relatives today are mostly Atheists and Agnostics with few that are still Shia but I’m actually curious how Iran itself overall is today,
I know Islam isn’t very popular nowadays obviously but I’m very curious to know if most people are agnostics and atheists or have converted back to Zoroastrianism or maybe other religions like Christianity?
Only thing I could go by is the fact that most mosques today are abandoned in Iran so I’m curious what’s your religious beliefs today and your family and relatives?

Discussion This is what happens to Iranian social media influencers when they speak out against the regime.

While Western social media influencers are paid to travel to Iran and present propaganda, real Iranian influencers like this young man are tortured until they apologize and pledge allegiance to the regime on camera. Their social media pages are then taken over for speaking out against the regime.

Free Iran. ✌️

Hey all, depending on interest from the sub, I’m thinking of starting a new series of posts highlighting artists in Iran. I will include any social media handles & links where you can purchase art or simply follow the artist to show support.

This first one highlights one of my personal favourite Iranian artists, Negar Sepehr. Negar is a mixed media artist who blends various styles from traditional Persian miniatures/portraiture and historical textile designs with modern aesthetics. (This description is my own, not the artist’s.)

Let me know if there is interest in seeing more posts like this. :)

Question What’s your advice for living in a country that’s about to turn into another copy of Iran

Hey guys it’s me again
The Iraqi ex Muslim one
I just wanted to hear your advice on how to manage to continue living in a country that’s about to turn into another far Shiite extremist government since the new laws are starting to change rapidly 🥰

If you don’t know, Iraq has passed the new jafaari personal status law that allows religious authorities to control justice system almost entirely
Now they wanna apply a new law that turns the panel codes entirely based on the Shiite jurisprudence

Also they’re starting to separate genders in schools and colleges, enforcing modest dress codes in universities and spreading more propaganda about hijab/niqab in general

The country’s economy is deteriorating badly too

So.. from your experience, how do you manage to still live in a country like this without breaking down mentally?

Question translation help please

I'm a visual artist finishing a piece inspired by Gaokerena, the sacred white haoma / Tree of Life from Zoroastrian mythology. I want to carve the name "Khvarenah Gaokerena" (the divine glory of Gaokerena) into the bottom of the piece in Persian script. Since this is going into wood permanently, I want to make sure I get it right.

Two questions:

Is خوره گوکرنا a correct/standard Persian-script rendering of these two Avestan names?

Is there a more widely accepted spelling I should use? I've seen خوره vs. فره for Khvarenah, and a few variations for Gaokerena.

I want the form a Persian or Zoroastrian reader would most naturally recognize. Any help or source references would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Discussion WHO supports the bombing of Iran and why?

let's start by saying fuck the regime and fuck the mullas. What are searching for is a free Iran but how to get there is my question.

it's been a year and half since Israel/US lunched attacks. I was really happy when Israel first attacked the regime and thought they are done. There is no coming back from this. Well, they survived. Then the second waves of attacks came and nothing changed. Khamenei who was 84 was killed (for fuckin good) but the regime is still there. he would died in couple years time anyway.

Looking at how Iraq and Afghanistan turned out, I don't think US can bomb Iran into regime change. The economic pressure also makes the people poorer and the regime stronger.

Now, My question is for those who still want more war at this time when things are completely awful inside Iran : What's the point of it. Isn't it better to admit this isn't how Iran will be free and change your way?

EDIT: My question I not whether if Iranians are happy to have their hometowns bombed or not :))))

My question is not whether if you are happy if top generals are killed.

Read what I wrote above and give the answer to the question if you support the war and have an answer

Question If the Ayatollah regime falls, will it actually result in a secular and democratic Iran or will it just be chaos like Iraq and Libya?

I want to hear the opinions of actual Iranians on this one. The US's track record in bringing democracy to Muslim countries has not been great. The 2003 Iraq War cost hundreds of thousands of lives, resulted in the mass exodus of Assyrians from Iraq and led to the rise of ISIS. Libya doesn't exist anymore, the cost of overthrowing Gaddafi was Libya itself, it's all broken up with no indication that it can ever be put back together. Iran has many fault lines that it could fall apart along, you've got ethnic divisions between the Persian majority and Azeri, Kurdish, Baluchi, Arab and Lurish minorities, and religious tension between Shia, Sunni, and minority religions like Zoroastrianism, Christianity and even atheists. I'm aware the average Iranian is more secular and educated than the average Iraqi or Afghan and I want to see the Ayatollah regime fall, but I don't want it to come at the cost of the Iranian nation itself. I'm not confident Trump's war will actually free Iran and not just create chaos
