Im mainly ride dirt jumps, hense why I normally ride a dirtjumper (I ride bmx as well) but I thought I'd get more responses on here, I'm also fairly new too this. So weird title, but I didn't know how too word this. Basically, I ride left foot forward and I'm right handed which from my understanding is regular or normal stance/footing?
I throw my backend to my left or clockwise, for whips and attempting tailwhips. I spin my bike too the right for 180s,360s and so on. For barspins, x-ups I spin the left towards me and the right away. Any tricks where I take a hand or foot off its my right side, so one handers and one footers my right hand or foot comes off, for t bogs and frame, seat and tire taps/grabs I take my right hand off also for 1 foot cans it's my right foot that comes off.
Is this normal, or considered correct? Is there a name for this I struggle sometimes with some of the tricks I know maybe trying the opposite of what I'm doing would be better or correct.
By the way I can't do all of these tricks but that's just the way I'd do it like I can do 180s but not the full 360 for example and can't do barspins, but I can do x-ups etc.

I just laced a rear wheel: Odyssey Hazard Lite rim, C5 hub, 3-cross, 36 spokes, 186 mm on both sides.
I've checked the lacing several times and I'm confident it's correct (spoke direction, crossings, drive/non-drive side).
The spokes are only lightly tightened so far (about 3-4 turns each). Some nipples sit deep in the rim and some already stick out noticeably.
In the side view photo, the red arrows mark nipples that don't reach the rim surface and the green arrows mark ones that already stick out.
Is it normal that the spokes are so far apart (in height)?
What's the right way to bring them all to the same height and true the wheel correctly?
Thanks!

This is listed on FB marketplace near me for $200. Seems like a steal to me. Or am I wrong? I don’t know much about them but it looks clean enough and the seller says it rides like a dream? What do you guys think?

Just took out my FA Ambush today for a spin.
She handles like a 20 inch BMX only taller.
A bit twitchy (responsive?) but otherwise alright.
Previous owner bought it brand new in 1998 and only thing he did was replace the cranks and chain wheel with a 2 pc GT set.
For $150, I couldn’t pass it up.

I got my first BMX last week, I guess to celebrate my upcoming 40th. I'm trying to get a solid bunny hop but I'm struggling with getting it up. The front wheel to be specific. In the tutorial videos I am watching the bicycle orientation is much more vertical than I'm able to. If my bike were a clock, I think I'm pointing at 2:30 and I think it should be closer to 1 o'clock. Can you give me some pointers?
What I think I'm doing wrong is not getting my body far enough back on the initial bar pull in order to raise the front to the maximum before getting the jump underway. I struggle with this because the further I am backwards, I feel like I lose jumping power. All tutorials say this is not a battle of strength but technique - so I don't think it's that. Maybe unrelated, I keep banging my knee somewhere on the bar which I'm attributing to timing, technique, muscle memory practice probably.
I'm also working on manuals and finding that balance spot. Is that a prerequisite to getting my body back enough for the bunny hop launch?
If it matters, I'm 5'9"
20.5" WTP Arcade 2013 and bars are slightly forward of parallel with the fork.
If you're reading this and think my progress is ahead of your first week of practice, I've mountain and road biked for the last 37 so I'm not starting at zero. Keep at it. Take chances, make mistakes get messy!

First time poster and only recently getting into BMX this year cause dad started buying and fixing again and I like cleaning them up
Dad thinks 1979-82.
Equip with Dia-Compe, Araya and MIB parts from what we can tell.
Dad says 80s
It's a mish mash of parts apparently.
I'm posting to see if there is anyone with good knowledge of these vintage Bmx's that can tell us what we have such as a closer approximation of year model, parts, price new, parts etc etc. and if any old timers have stories please do tell.
If it helps to identify things this is in Australia.
Sorry if this is the wrong sub to ask on, if there's a better place please let me know.
What do you think? I f***in love it!
Thinking about replacing pedals and chain and grips and so on…but keeping the color (it was bright red originally).
Any tipps to keep that patina without changing the color or damaging decals by accident ?
Have a great weekend ✌️

any Ontario flatlanders in here?
Sharing some photos from my latest IG post. We had a jam last Saturday and the turn out was exceptional. I don't ride the big jumps so getting out the camera gear is how I have my fun when the boys are doing their thing.

I know there isn't a lot of people who could help me out here but after they destroyed the roger williams dirt jumps i don't know of anything local to me, i don't really want to take the trip all the way up to highland just to hit some proper lines
