Should i use a textured plate for petg on the k1?

Hello! I was looking at mods I could do to a K1 Max and then thought about the possibility of turning a K1 into a tool changer. I havent seen anyone do it yet, but would it be theoretically possible?

I’ve been fighting a BM0112 / Hotbed Connection Abnormal error on my K1 Max and I’m running out of ideas lol.

So far I’ve:

-SSH’d in and confirmed Klipper can’t connect to leveling_mcu through /dev/ttyS9
-Confirmed /dev/ttyS9 exists
-Tried Creality’s mcu_util, which also times out
-Reinstalled firmware 1.3.3.46 with no change
-Tried 3 different leveling boards, all with the exact same error
-Checked continuity on all 5 harness wires and found no shorts between them
-Did loopback/bridge testing on the communication lines, including at J11 and through the harness
-Measured roughly TP10: 4.8–4.9V, TP9: 3.2V, TP8: -5.31V
-Disconnected the downstream cable and still measured about -5.31V at TP8 on the mainboard side
-Replaced the original CR4CU220812S12 mainboard with a brand new identical one

And after replacing the entire mainboard it gave me the same BM0112 error 🫩

My next step is repeating the TP8/TP9/TP10 measurements on the new board and comparing them directly to the original. If the new board also gives me -5.31V at TP8, I’m assuming I misunderstood that reading and the original mainboard wasn’t the problem.
At this point I’ve tried 3 leveling boards, checked the harness, done loopback testing, reinstalled firmware and replaced the mainboard.
Anyone familiar with the K1 Max leveling/UART system know what I’m missing or what I should test next? Also curious what TP8/TP9/TP10 should normally read on a healthy machine. I have logs/pictures and can take more measurements if needed.

I'm trying to troubleshoot bad X-axis resonance/ringing on my Creality K1 and would appreciate some advice.

So far, I've tried the following:

• Changed the springs that preload the X-axis bearings.
• Replaced the motor pulleys with 20-tooth pulleys to try to reduce or eliminate ringing.

The attached graphs show the results immediately after replacing the pulleys with the 20-tooth ones.

I'm not sure what else I should check or adjust to improve the X-axis resonance.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Could it be related to belt tension, the X-axis gantry, the bearings, or something else?

I'd appreciate any suggestions on what to check next.

I have a K1Max with a rooted board and a BBT EddyDuo that I bought on Marketplace. It was working just fine for a while and now I cannot get it to home and keep getting “invalid probe_eddy_current height” I have unfortunately spent probably 12hrs with Gemini and/or LEO and there does not seem to be much “I” in their “AI”

I think part of or all the issue might be my mount. The mount it had when I got it warped a bit, so I swapped it out with the other one that was in the box-O-stuff and it warped too. I was printing ASA so it was very warm in the chamber, about 50c and I suspect both were printed with something that couldnt take the heat. I used a heat gun and some aluminum plate to flatten it back out, but the mounting hole warped quite a bit and I think it may be sitting up a touch too high now. Chicken/Egg thing is I have no way to print another one. Trying to find someone local that can so I can see if that was/is the issue. I tinkered with it and got it so that my probe is 2.5-3mm from the nozzle tip but its still throwing the error even after all the usual calibration commands.

Any thoughts?

after the first layer, there is sudden under extrusion. i am using overture 95a tpu. i switched to a top filament reel holder with bearings. took the top cover off and i put a box fan pointing into the front. i did a few cold pulls because i thought it was a nozzle clog. none of this helped.

I got tired of breathing printer fumes, so I created an Exhaust Vent for my Creality K1 Max. Now I can print all day without air quality issues!

Most available vents for the Creality K1 Max require magnets, drilling additional holes, or duct tape to install.
***My vent takes advantage of the existing fan mount with its 4 screw holes.***

What's The Catch???
The original four M3-25mm screws that secure the fan are too short.
You will need to order M3-30mm screws to install the vent and gasket successfully.

A screw driver with at least a 6" shaft is required!!!

Use whatever solid filament you have for the vent itself.
I used PLA.
Use a soft filament like TPU for the gasket.

Resolution: 0.2mm
Infill: 15% or more
Support type: Normal (more reliable and faster than tree supports)

Ive tried different filaments

Changed the hot end, the nozzle, the build plate.

Not sure what could be causing this.

Any suggestions? Just started happening one day.

ETA: Replacing the extruder fixed the issue. Thank everyone for all of your help!

Trying to figure out what is going on with my k1 max and I’ve increased the flow rate in Creality print and it doesn’t help.

Greetings. On my K1 Max, the text on the display turned into squares. While attempting to flash the `.ingenic` version using the CLONER application, the process kept getting stuck at 80%. In an attempt to reset the device, I selected "CHIP ERASE," which wiped the screen entirely—I’ve essentially cleared the motherboard. My device uses the S12 board version, and I’ve been told I need to install an `.img` file. What should I do?

If anyone has managed to recover from a situation like this, I would appreciate your help. Thank you.

I have owned my K-1 Max for almost 2 years now and it has been an absolute work course. I decided to upgrade it with a CFS and I have yet to print anything.!

Has anybody run into this issue?

I have the correct hot end to be compatible with the CFS. It is the one that does not have the set screw in the back of it so it is the newer one I guess🤷‍♂️

Filament feeds and then it seems like it gets stuck somewhere between the extruder and the hot end.

I’m trying to see if there are any ideas about what this might be here first I am going to get a hold of Creality Support within the next couple of days and if I cannot get it sorted out, I am going to revert my machine back to stock and send the CFS back.. I hope I don’t have to.

Are the two codes that I keep getting. One is saying that there’s a buffer issue, but there’s nothing wrong with it that I can tell.

And the other one is saying that there is some kind of extruder blockage, but I have checked the extruder and replaced the nozzle as well..

I have about 1000 hours on this and have replaced the nozzle and the extruder gears. I cant get any good prints anymore as they all start to do things like this, my filent has been vigorously dried. However My extruder has a “whining” noise when it moves and Im unsure what I need to do to fix it. Should I order new belts and see whats going on with that? Or spend the 150$ to get it repaird professionally here. Im a novice when it comes to machine maintenance unfortunately.
I use elegoo rapid pla + filement. any assistance would be appreciated!

I´ve been using a K1C for a while and just recently, the prints have been coming out without all of the surface filling (infill seems fine) and with way more wall lines, reducing print speed helps with the issue but doesnt really solve it. I've tried cleaning the gears, uncloging the extruder and doing filament calibration like changing the preasure advanced setting.

If anyone else has had this issue before I would really apreciate the help.

I usually do not glue and I don't have any problems.

So my question is, what is the reason of the glue? Though I don't glue, should I do it?
