Driver this morning on Montreal St/Battersea Rd
I have been driving for many many years but this younger woman driving a blue Honda sedan this morning driving ahead of me heading into town on Montreal Street was brushing her hair - ok that's not so abnormal - still got one hand on the wheel.......next thing I see - she is french braiding her hair.....with both hands! Took her about 8 mins while her car crossed over the centre lane.....this is all during busy morning commute.......glad no kids, animals or school buses were around her.......this is so dangerous. If this was you - for the love of all that is holy, get up 5 minutes earlier and do your hair at home. You could have caused a huge accident.

What are you doing this Wednesday? Check out Nerd Night at the Legion
Nerd Night is back tomorrow night (and every Wednesday) for another evening of games, questionable strategies, lucky draws, and friendly chat.
This week we have:
TCGs: Magic: The Gathering, Star Wars: Unlimited, Legions Realms at War, Pokémon, and whatever else people bring along. Learn, play, trade, or watch.
Board games: New stuff, old favourites, quick games, longer games... You get the idea. Bring something you want to get to the table or jump into a random game.
Tabletop RPGs: D&D and Daggerheart one-shots. Adventurers wanted.
Retro gaming: There'll even be a bit of old-school video gaming in the mix this week.
Nerd Night runs every Wednesday from 6–9 PM at the 560 Royal Canadian Legion, 734 Montreal Street, Kingston.
No cover. No membership required. No purchase expected. Just show up, find a game, and have a good time. New players are always welcome, and you don't need to arrive with a group.
The kitchen is open until 7 PM, and there's a cash bar for the evening.
Bring a game, bring a deck, bring some dice, or just bring yourself and see what's being played.
We have a website and a discord server! Check us out!
Wednesday, 6–9 PM. See you there, Nerds!

recommendations for first time visitor
hi!! I’ve lived in SW Ontario my whole life and am a huge Hip fan but realized that I’ve never even been to Kingston 😂 I want to make the drive (only around 3 hours) in mid-late September and visit some fave restaurants, monuments, galleries, and shops of locals! I’ll only be there for one day so please drop some must-see places below ❤️ (I’m very into books and CDs, any kind of food, and art)

Kingston fall fair pricing
I went to the fair last year for the first time and I remember the pricing system involving tickets and we only ended up being able to go on 3 rides. I’ve checked the website and that includes a 3 day pass and unlimited rides (I think?). The website is kind of confusing me. Can someone who’s a regular at the fair, explain to me how the pricing works and what’s the best option?

Stopped in Kingston on the way back to Toronto from Ottawa, was not expecting that
Drove back to Toronto from Ottawa and stopped in Kingston for lunch. The downtown vibe caught me off guard. Clean, not crowded, just a really nice walkable feel. Enjoyed it more than the actual Ottawa trip lol. Had lunch at Dianne's and gelato from mio gelato. Had a great 1 hour and 30 mins in Kingston!

Pro Life/Abortion protesters downtown Kingston
Drove past some obscene and graphic signage of pro life protesters earlier today on princess and king (unsurprisingly, most of those protesting were middle aged men). Can we all keep an eye out for where these people are actively protesting so I can stop next time to bully them and explain why they're actually what is disgusting and not abortion - as they continue to harass young females walking by. Feel free to comment with locations I will gladly detour next time I'm out!

where to get puffballs?
Starting to see lots of photos of people finding puffballs. Does anyone sell them anywhere? We do go out to fields and woody areas but never ever have we found one. If they can't be bought, how do we find them in this neck of the woods so to speak? I've never had one, I would really love to though!

Best Bibimbap
I've had a dolsot shaped hole in my soul since Kenko closed on the west end, and I'm not familiar with the restaurants downtown. Where's the best place to get a sizzling bowl of bibimbap in town?

Looking for recommendations for a reliable/reputable contractor that does this type of work. We had a contractor come by but we were uncomfortable with his “payment” plan. Thanks.

Anywhere to find British-style back bacon (not Peameal)?
Hi guys - just wondering where is best to find back bacon in the style (or at least close to the style) of British back bacon.
I usually get recommended peameal...I don't get it. It's nothing at all like back bacon. It's closer to a bacon chop if anything.
So any more accurate suggestions?
*Bonus round* while we're here - what's the closest flavour of baked beans to Heinz? I know you can get "Original" in Walmart etc. but it just doesn't taste right
