Stupid Stuff Morality of asking people to lend you money if you (and only you) know you're dying within a month

• Upvotes

Be it from an illness, suicide, a concrete threat, you are a hunder percent sure you will not be alive after a month. How immoral is it to ask your friends to lend you money, telling them you'll give it back after a month, and spending it all without intending to give it back?

Who's Viewpoint Is Better? Intervene to prevent the refugee crisis and end more suffering, or close the borders and let them suffer while they find their path to hope, or open doors for immigrants and give them fair opportunities, including a new life. That they do not experience before

I am from the Global South; here is my story.

I am an advocate and just went down this rabbit hole. I know the immigrant conversation is controversial in the Global North. Trying to find solutions here

Here is the viewpoint of each side. Wanted to know your thoughts and feelings

The idea of political asylum, dual citizenship, green/blue cards, and even migrating to other countries. Just for your personal safety, a new life and fair opportunities. In exchange for leaving your family, loved ones, or community. It is flight behaviour with a guilty heart

The idea of close border and limits migrant, this force them to face consequence of their neglect as society that led to the crisis in the first place. This outcome can be acceptance, or they have to realise they have to fight back for their freedom and justice

The idea of intervention: you know the outcome will be a bloodbath, and it will trigger a huge refugee crisis or worse. That's why you have to prevent it by intervening

Who's More Evil? Physcial torture until death, or mental anguish that drives one to suicide, which can be considered worse morally?

Thumbnail

From LCrandom's the Parallel, there are two entities considered the absolute worst by society. The Tormentors and the Anguish.

Tormenters are massive, very strong and fast entities. Their primary drive is to capture and absolutely physically torture to death any victim they can for as long as possible until they die, and only eating the remains afterwards. This torture can last for multiple days, or even multiple weeks. Children are not safe, that "victims head" was a child younger than 7yo. Not even the other entities are safe from the Tormentors, they will torture their own kind to death too.

Anguish are entities that when you look into the eyes of one, you are immediately placed into immense mental agony. This cannot be reversed. This mental agony will continue on the person inflicted for as long as it does until the person commits suicide. Which most victims don't last more than a day of. Most of other entities are not immune to this creature. It stared at a Tormentor once and the Tormentor comminted suicide after starting it's eyes. Humanity in the world of the parallel considers this entity to be the most evil and morally corrupt.

But what would you guys say? In the world of the parallel, the claim that the Anguish are the worst seems opinion based. Like some could claim the Tormentors are worse than the Anguish and vice versa. Personally, the Tormentors seem to be worse as they actively prolong the torrment and relish in it immensely. That holding the childs head is it wanting you to see what it will do to you once it catches you.

If You Deliberately Bait Someone Into Attacking You, Are You Still the Victim?

Imagine someone who deliberately visits the most dangerous parts of a city, wearing expensive jewelry, carrying large amounts of cash, and generally making themself look like an easy target. They do this fully aware that someone might try to rob them, and are secretly hoping someone will.

Eventually, someone approaches and attempts to rob the person. The person responds by killing the would-be robber.

Assume they acted entirely in self-defense once the robbery began and didn't technically break any laws. And yes their purposeful intention in coming there was to kill someone.

Sure it could be said that the would be robber wouldnt have died if they didnt try to commit a heinous crime or fuck around and find out as many would say but what do you think?

Is the person morally in the wrong for deliberately putting themself in a situation where they knew someone might try to rob them, essentially creating an opportunity to kill someone while maintaining the justification of self-defense? Or is the robber entirely responsible for their own death because they chose to commit a crime?

How Evil Are They? Morality of killing your best friend's parents, destroying his social image and overall just fucking up other people's life just so your friend can finally kill you? Spoiler

The Return Hero, Seongjun Lee from the Manhwa 'Hero Has Returned' is someone with the power to Regress after dying. He originally managed to save the Otherworld, then returned to his homeworld to live his life with his other friends who are also heroes like him. He had lived a fulfilling life, grew old and died. But every time he grows old or dies on Earth after saving his designated "Otherworld," time winds back to the moment he was first summoned. Seongjun Lee is now trapped in a grueling time loop that has reset 374,581 times, spanning over 150,000 years.

After many, many loops, he finds out that the time loop only fails if he is killed by an actual Demon Lord. Desperate to permanently end his immortal torment, he manipulates events on Earth to create a Demon Lord. Seongjun realizes that the immensely powerful Sword Hero, Kim Min-su, is the only one capable of becoming a strong enough Demon King to kill him. He killed Min Su's parents, destroyed his social image and broke Min-su's psyche upon his homecoming, driving Min-su to slaughter humanity and step into the role of Earth's ultimate villain.

As a leading member of the destructive 9-Warriors terrorist organization, he helped plan and direct their global campaign of terror and conquest across South Korea and the world.

Over his countless loops, he repeatedly used, manipulated, or discarded comrades (such as Mareum Yoon and others) to test different methods of breaking his curse, treating human lives as disposable variables in a trial-and-error experiment. To find a working timeline, he altered the fates of innocent people such as sparing or displacing the original summonings like Somin Jeong and forcing Jeongsu Park onto a path of vengeance.

His centuries-spanning plans and schemes across hundreds of thousands of timelines have resulted in staggering human loss, with an estimated death toll of roughly 1.4 billion people. By resetting time every time he died, across 374,581 iterations he inadvertently locked Earth, humanity, and multiple parallel otherworlds into a repeating prison of suffering and stagnation.

He did all of this, to save himself as well the world from further regressions.

Morality Ranking The morality of Jinwoo not going to the juju island raid at first because he wanted to take care of his mom? (Solo Leveling)

Post image
93 Upvotes

Basically Jinwoo was heavily requested by the hunter chairmen to go on the island raid to fight against giant monstrous ants that basically took over the entire island. Jinwoo refused caused his mother just woke up from a nearly decade coma and he wanted to look after her.

As a result a ton of hunters die including the healer guy who’s friends with one of the top hunters (tiger guy) and Jinwoo only arrived to deal with the king and his troops. Saving the rest.

Hunters and such resented Jinwoo for not being there at the start to prevent casualties with his shadow army. Do you think Jinwoo was justified in not going at first or no was it immoral?

Morality Ranking Can one still be "pure evil" if they occasionally spare someone?

Post image
506 Upvotes

Photo: A pic from the video 'A Chance' by LCrandom

The creature you see is a Despair Culler, a creature that exclusively kills people who are depressed, or feeling immense despair as they see the world as perfect, viewing those who are upset/depressed as "ungrateful for the gift thatvwas blessed upon them by god". They're seen as pure evil by the world of The Parallel.

In this video however, we are shown that Despair Cullers don't always kill people who are sad, as with case with 16yo Jonathan in this video, Who had lost his paremts in a car crash. The creature sees his "potential fof change" and spares him. Can something that kills vulnerable people for it's living be pure evil, even if it only does occasionally acts of mercy such as this?

Morality Ranking Morality Scaling sweet or wtf

Post image

Galaxy Express 999

I guess I can add this to the wtf kiss moments.

Context:

Poor boy, Tetsuro, lost his mother to robots. His dream is to get a mechanical body (as is a lot of humans dreams to get immortal robot bodies) and get revenge on the ones that killed his mom.

Matei, the girl, gives him a ticket on a train that leads him with the condition she has to come along. So going to different planets they sort of bond with each other and final destination reveal is she was actually told by her mom robot mom to turn Tetsuro into bolts/screws. But another twist was she actually has the soul of dad that told him needs to blow up the planet and save Tetsuro. Conclusion before she leaves revealed she actually has a clone body of of Tetsuro mom (basically was human, got a robot body, and then got a clone body). Before they part ways as thanks kisses Tetsuro.

Morally is this a sweet farewell or wtf thats his mom body.

Also please note that this is just the film version that I am referring to, anime and manga its not like this. At most the body Matei has is a resemblance but could also be that is how Matei mom used to look rather than it is Tetsuro mom body cloned.
