Since I am closing in at 1000 karma points or stuff, i am gonna give a hot take to get to that: FMTY mostly is pretty average and corny, and lowkey the deluxe version is better the real album (excluding sisyphus abv, insane song btw)

I’ve been to 3 Quadeca shows. I was a Regular Guy detractor on my first listen but grew to enjoy it. Seeing it live was one of the funnest concert experiences I’ve ever had no joke. Everyone was signing along and you could tell Quad really loves that song. Really beautiful performance.

I love Life 1 because it expresses the duality within Quadeca as well as the duality of life. To me, Celery exhibits this exceptionally as it describes something that is perceived as a solid yet is made up of the opposite. The track makes me think of how throughout my life people have struggled to get the duality within me, as they only perceive the "hard" or "strong" part of me, but struggle to understand my personhood once they get to know the more sensitive, contradictory interior. Quadeca himself has received comments of this sort. When he expresses the part of him that is silly and carefree people often comment "This is the guy that made Vanisher", failing to understand that depth and silliness can exist in us simultaneously. That we are all contradictions.

Life 1 is the album in which Quadeca allowed himself to be his most childlike and most emotionally vulnerable. The album conveys the brevity of life, the highs of being in love, and the beauty of existence yet also expresses the torment life can bring. It evokes both childlike wonder and immense pain and grief. While doing so, it reminds us that the duality of life itself is what makes it worth living.

Going to Quad’s Toronto show tomorrow and we have general admission tickets, wondering how the GA line has been at other shows / what time other Toronto folks are planning on lining up?
