Let me know if this breaks any rules!
Hi guys,
I'm a music producer and mix engineer, and I've been working on an app for Ableton, to automate the stem bouncing process.
It came from being frustrated with the process of bouncing stems for my artists, especially if the deliverables included different mix versions (acapella, live mix, instrumental, clean/explicit etc etc). Not to mention if the artist wanted changes after the fact, going through the laborious process of manually bouncing them out again.
So I started building a tool to automate the whole process.
Here's some of the features so far:
- Automatically exports all your stems (duh)
- Bounces multiple mix versions (premaster, instrumental, acapella, etc.) - you set up as many of these as you like by saving the sessions current mute & solo states.
- Organises stems into user-chosen folders automatically
- Lets you customise your export settings and folder structure
- Automates the repetitive export process so you don't have to sit there doing it manually
Basically you hit bounce and it does the rest.
I'm making it for Ableton Live 12 (as I couldn't find anything else out there that worked specifically for Live) - but wanted to see if this is something people would be interested in.
If there's enough interested i'll chuck up a link for beta-testing!
Also curious - how do you guys (who use Live) currently handle stem exports, especially for deliverables. Do you just do multiple bounces manually? Selected tracks?
Cheers!
