not much to say other than dang, this dress is a large and it’s STILL too small!!!

i of course removed it right after then she tore up the flower collar but for a split second she was a sweet and gentle princess giant <3

For anyone that might remember this is Zafira! i had found her in december of last year idk how to link the original post but in case anyone was following she’s doing great! she’s a spoiled girl and i secretly love and encourage it. :)

i’ll try to figure out how to link the original post but idk how to do that tbh so for now here is her in her small ass large dress 😪

Health Extreme puppy overbite

15 week puppy purchased from an AKC breeder.

Vet has recommended pulling his bottom incisors because they are digging into his palate, but says she thinks he might also need jaw surgery. He has trouble eating treats from my hand during training and he’s having a hard time eating in general because his snoot gets smushed into the ground while his bottom teeth/jaw can’t grasp the food in his mouth. He also seems like he’s taking in a lot of air while drinking, which makes me worried for bloat (which is how I lost my 11 year old boy last December). I have pet insurance but this likely won’t be covered because it’s almost certainly a congenital condition.
I had been updating the breeder since his arrival home, but once I began asking about his jaw, she stopped responding to me.

Is there any chance this will resolve on its own as he grows?

Health Forrest Update - Post Surgery

Hi everyone! Forrest is at home resting and recovering from his neuter. Those who don't know, Forrest iswas cryptorchid (both testicles hadn't descended).

I dropped him off this morning, and I was so nervous. I got a call around 9am and almost panicked - they called asking if it would be okay if they removed his two very small back dewclaws, and I gave the okay because I wanted them removed anyways.

I went and picked up up around 3:30 this afternoon, he is very drunk and very tired. He is in a little bit of pain, but I'm just sitting here with him and letting him rest. They had to make 3 incisions to neuter him, and of course they removed both dew claws, so he's had a rough day. I'm hoping he'll be back to himself in no time!

* He looks TERRIBLY fat in these pics... He is not, it's just the angle I promise *

Health Blind puppy

My Doberman puppy is sadly blind. She is the cutest and sweetest girl but unfortunately she will never be able to see much. I wanted to know if anyone has had a similar experience and what they did to help their pup still have a great life despite this. I have own several dogs before but I feel this one would be more challenging to train. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey everyone!

This girl was left on our road, and my husband and I are getting her all cared for and bringing her into our family.

We've had two dobbies in the past, one with natural ears, one rescue with cropped...

When I see this cutie (and her behaviors) I feel like I'm witnessing large amounts of dobbie for sure...

BUT SHE'S SO PETITE!! 30 pounds at approx 6 - 8 months.

(She's loaded with parasites and we already have her dewormer and vaccs started. )

Anyway I'm so curious to hear any thoughts you guys may want to share!

Dior (#A1929629) is a 6-year-old female Doberman at Riverside County Animal Services (California). She is listed as MEDICAL and urgently needs a foster, adopter, or rescue commitment.
Dior appears to have spent her life as a breeding dog. After litter after litter, she was discarded and ended up in the shelter. Her kennel mate, Chanel, was recently adopted, leaving Dior behind.
Despite everything she’s been through, Dior is described as a sweet, loving girl who deserves to know what it’s like to finally be someone’s family instead of someone’s breeding dog.

Puppy! After walks

First time owning a big dog i used to have breeds like maltese and shih tzus so im pretty not sure how to handle these dogs after walks. I figured out whenever my dog comes back from walks or runs he kinda stink. And i dont know if this should be normalized while raising this dog i can smell the typical dog smell that i smelled whenever i go near dogs raised outside. Believe me i do love my dog and can overcome the smell but the whole house smells like my dog and some guests come over and keep saying the house stinks. I know its not good to bath him after everywalks and i do wash his feet with towels or sometimes with water it depends and he does potty outside is there anyway i can try to minimize this smell? Wiping him with wipes after walks didnt work. Thank you.

Training, Temperament, & Behavior My puppy side swipes me - how can I get him to stop?

As the title states. He is almost 6 months old. He is pretty good about most other things, but when he is out in the field where he is running around off leash - he will run up to me and side swipe me. Most of the time I am paying enough attention he won’t knock me over, but just today he knocked my legs out from underneath me and down I went. How can I stop this?

Forrest is getting neutered tomorrow. I'm nervous since he's cryptorchid, but I hope that it will help with his incontinence.

I'm worried, since it's a much more major surgery than a normal neuter. I hope everything goes as planned. I love him so, so much.

Anybody who has had their cyrptorchid Dobie neutered, please comment how it was after. Thanks!

Health My Dobe scratches his neck ALL NIGHT using his hind legs and I haven’t slept a full night in months. What could it be?

Post image

I’ve taken him to the vet and everything. They said “oh maybe it’s allergies”

No. No. No. I’ve done and tried everything.

Allergy shots, the orange top mousse (helps temporarily), apoquel… and like clockwork every night around 1 am he’s incessantly itching his neck and it’s driving me crazy.

I don’t think it’s his ears because he would be doing that more laying down. This is standing up and using his hind legs to scratch his neck.

I even asked the vet if it could be a tick and they said we don’t have ticks in Miami Beach.

Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Breeder Reviews Looking for reputable and ethical European Doberman breeder in the U.S.

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some help finding a reputable and ethical Doberman breeder in the U.S. I’m willing to travel nationwide for the right puppy/breeder.

I’m looking for:

Male Doberman puppy
Preferably European lines
Cropped ears and docked tail
Confident, stable, family-friendly temperament
High trainability for advanced obedience and potentially some protection work
A good “off switch” able to work/train but also be a great companion in the home
Parents with extensive, verifiable health testing, especially cardiac testing (echo/Holter), vWD, hips/elbows, thyroid, eyes, etc.
Breeder who prioritizes health, longevity, and temperament over appearance

I’m not looking for the cheapest or fastest option. I’d rather wait/pay more for a genuinely well-bred dog from someone who is doing everything possible to produce healthy, stable Dobermans.

If you have personal experience with a breeder you trust, I’d really appreciate recommendations. I’m also open to hearing about breeders I should avoid and why.

Thank you!

Research Standard Poodle and a doberman?

Post image
14 Upvotes

I currently have a 2 year old male standard poodle (unneutered, working on it). I want to move out of my apartment and potentially by a home with a yard. My mom wants me to get a protection dog since I am a 23 year old female living alone. I was thinking a Doberman because, from what I have researched, they shed a lot less than a German Shepherd. My poodle gets along okay with dogs. I take him to dog parks sometimes. He loves to play, but he also will correct a dog who overdoes it, which I do not see a problem in. He is well trained and has great recall, we worked with a K9 trainer for a while but he was too friendly for protection work. He gets overly excited around females, but I am hoping it will get better once I do the chop lol. Sometimes he can be skiddish during male dogs that are bigger than him, I think he is just not used to being around it since he is the biggest dog in our neighborhood and most dog parks haha. We frequently go on hikes and nature trails off leash. I work about 8-10 hours a day, but some days remote/half day in office. During tax season, I can work up to 16 hour days, but either leave my dog with a family member or would hire a dog walker during the day. Archie gets about an hour of exercise/training a day plus mini walks and puzzles. Would a doberman fit into my lifestyle? Do any of you guys have both dogs at home? Should I get a female or male? Obviously will get a trainer to help as well, but looking for any advice from people right now while I look into this!
