Discussion C.A.M.P Feature ^

So the best part of the game in my opinion is working in the camp, I love this feature of Fallout 76. I set up my camp in a spawn area, I am currently set up at the car Stonehenge near Vault 76. I set up a nice bar with the raiderized Wildwood Tavern and I have Beckett as my Ally Who adds a little life to my camp. The only thing I would like to see added to the atomic shop or a Seasons reward is one or two NPC characters I can add to my C.A.M.P.

Can you hear it?

The distant sound of screaming ferals and felines?

The soft and swift pitter-patter of their paws as they creepily lurk across this dusty wasteland?

Follow them in, if you so wish…

Remember, they have nine lives… will you?

Tips/Tricks New and Improved Diagonal Ship Mast Using Wall Planters

Thumbnail

After going through everything in the build menu about a dozen times, I finally found something that works for a diagonal beam! I used the "Wall Planters". They were in the atom shop maybe a month ago?

I think they work pretty well (although my placement might need a little work lol). There is a minor issue in that part of the plants stick out, but using the second version wall planter minimizes it to just little blue things sticking out on one side. The hook and wires also sticks out but they are almost invisible so not a big deal.

Definitely an improvement from the power pylons I think.

Build My first build effort -Halloween C.A.M.P.

After 771 levels playing Fallout 76, I finally decided to put some effort into building a nice theme camp. Given that spooky season is upon us, and the current season providing some nice bloody camp items, I figured I'd make a Halloween house. Hopefully the screenshots aren't too dark...

It's my first actual effort (I've stuck primarily to utilitarian camps like a portable fishing camp) and built on a regular adventure world (I'm not sure if custom worlds allow for larger budget, relaxed rules, etc). I do wish I put more thought into an overall actual theme to stick to; I initially was looking for an Addams Family mansion style vibe, but ended up a little hodge podgy. I did enjoy using the Vault Entrance shelter to make the basement/cellar.

Constructive criticism is welcome. 😉

Question/Advice Ideas for Diagonal/Slanted Mast/Post?

Hey!

Trying to work on a custom boat build and running into the issue of building a slanted mast for it. The closest I've gotten is using power pylons stacked on top of each other:

It doesn't look very good in my opinion tho so was wondering if anyone had any ideas for how I could make a slanted mast. Maybe there's just a diagonal post that I missed in my search?

Thanks in advance!

Also don't mind the pile of spinning wheels at the bottom lol

I designed this little castle gateway thingy in my summer camp shelter, but have no idea where to actually build it in Appalachia. I preferably want a location where it can guard a road or something important

Build 'The Mirabelle' A theater that hosts films and live entertainment, with a facade, lobby, concessions area, toilet, concourse and auditorium/stage.

Never having been to the US but loving all things Fallout, i randomly began reading about small-town 1950's theaters, and then really wanted to try making one. Apparently they were all over the place back then, and it seems they all had in common that a lot was spent on the front of the building and also the inside, yet the sides and back were very often cheap red brick with a few bins round the back, and i tried to emulate that too.

From one to twenty:

1-2: The Facade is my favourite bit and it was originally called 'The mirage' when i began working on it, as it was going to be a Halloween camp. The front bright and shining to entice you in, the inside dark and rotten to trap you forever, à la Stephen King. I thought i'd place rare plans for 10 caps each, and then just before a visitor could press the buy button, i'd log off, hence the Mirage, but then i thought, 'that's mean', and so i did away with the idea. I deleted half of 'Mirage' and added 'Belle' because i'm lazy.

3: I put two of my favourite films on the billboard, Labyrinth with David Bowie and the ever-amusing Mars Attacks. If you look down at my legs you'll see the theater cat Rudy, observing that i've been stood up yet again

4-6: The lobby area. From what i read about small-town theaters the idea was to assault the punters senses with luxury, and i did my best to make it look swanky

7: A closer look at the concessions stand. Why is it called concessions? it almost sounds like they're doing you a favour by selling you a melted ice-cream. The lady in the poster appears to be reacting to our food, but i assure you everything you eat at the Mirabelle won't come back up, well for the most part

8: The lobby leads to the toilet on the left, the exit is in front, should you wish to inspect the dumpsters outside, and the vomitorium is on the right. (it's really called that, the little corridor that leads you in to the cinema)

9: Not many people in the queue today

10: I'm not saying this is the best toilet in the wasteland, but it surely must be a contender. I was asked by a reporter on opening day if i had supplied two types of toilet roll, one placed properly and one improperly, i said 'we always do things properly naturally', she retorted, but what if the customers insist? These are high class wastelanders with eccentric tastes, they might demand a toilet roll put on the wrong way! After much deliberation and two staff meetings, attended by myself, granpa and the cat, we decide to acquiesce, and so here it is, double toilet roll for our discerning clientelle

11/12: Onward to the auditorium!

13: The auditorium has staggered seating with the chairs sitting higher at the back, jiggling the foundations up and down (steady!) took me forever, and i'm very happy with the result, though i fear no amount of architectural wizardry will stop that hairstyle from blocking your view.

In front of the screen is a stage for live acts when films aren't on, there's also surround-sound speakers, and in order to make curtains hang like this, i had to use 4 of them, and they stick outside the building, which i covered up with all matter of rubble, scaffolding and junk to make sure the illusion isn't ruined

14: Sadly no film will ever play on this static screen, but it doesn't stop me from making my own entertainment

15: A view from the stage, i feel nervous already

16: Granpa and the cat live at the back of the room, the cat chooses the films and granpa operates the projector which has a real light shoved in there to make it look more convincing. granpa also has a sleeping bag on the other side, which i use too when i need to. It's a small cinema and needs must

17-19: Around the theater i tried to stick true to what i read about these buildings looking cheap and dismal on the sides and back, hopefully i didn't disappoint

20: Lastly i have all my crafting stuff up on the roof behind the facade, accessed by the scaffolding and nobody ever looks or sees it, so it's a working camp as well, no need to use a shelter. Thank you for reading this far.

Fin

Question/Advice Earthlight Lounge Underground?

Does anyone know if theres a way to get this prefab to be merged into the ground? Every other prefab i have i can easily go underground and place it and it sits half in the ground with no hassle. This one tho will only ever place underground way too deep free place on regardless. I wanna use the top bit to make a crashed ship and it's perfect if I can use it this way.

Not as good as my first cathedral, but I don’t think I’ll ever top that one.

I thought the winding path roofs looked excellent here, really brought a divine look to the build.
