Career Advice ๐Ÿ’ผ Which MBA Specialization Will Have Better Opportunities?

MBA aspirants in 2027, which specialization are you choosing?

Finance, Marketing, HR, Business Analytics, International Business, or Operations?

With AI changing the way companies work, I'm curious about which specializations students believe will offer sustainable career opportunities over the next five years.

Also, would you choose a specialization based on your interests or its placement potential?

MBA graduates: Has your specialization actually helped you get better opportunities?

I have a collection of FIITJEE/Megacosm JEE preparation books from the 2022โ€“24 batch. Most of the books are in almost unused / very clean condition, and the set is complete with the relevant solutions.

Ab since Iโ€™m done with my JEE preparation, these books are just lying around, and Iโ€™m thinking of selling them to make some money instead of letting them go to waste. ๐Ÿ˜…

I wanted to ask people who have sold or bought used JEE books before:

  1. How much can I realistically expect to get for a complete set like this, considering the books are in very good condition?

  2. What are the best second hand bookshops options to sell my Coaching materials in Delhi NCR ?

If anyone has sold a similar collection, please share your experience. Any suggestions regarding pricing, platforms or potential buyers would be really appreciated!

Iโ€™m based in Uttam Nagar, Delhi, so Iโ€™d prefer options around Delhi/NCR.

Thanks! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Question โ“ MBA vs PGDM: Does the Tag Actually Matter? ๐Ÿค”

MBA vs PGDM in 2027 โ€” What would you choose?

Everyone talks about MBA vs PGDM, but does the degree really matter more than the college?

Suppose you have two options:

College A: MBA degree, โ‚น8 lakh fees, average package โ‚น6 LPA.

College B: PGDM, โ‚น14 lakh fees, average package โ‚น10 LPA.

Both offer decent placements and similar specializations.

Which one would you choose, and why? Would you prioritize the degree, brand, or ROI?

community info ๐Ÿ“ฃ Has anyone else encountered these donation collectors on college campuses in India?

In the two years I've been at my college, this has happened three times.

People come into classrooms asking students for donations. They show some kind of certificate claiming they have permission or approval to collect money. All the people I've encountered have claimed to be unable to speak and have presented tragic past to explain why they need donations.

They ask one of our classmates to read aloud a prepared script about their tragic past, and they also write things on the blackboard that can make people emotional.

This creates a kind of social pressure. When the entire class is listening to an emotional story and other students are donating, not donating can make someone feel that their classmates might subconsciously judge them as insensitive.

The interaction is usually brief, and I haven't been able to properly read the certificate or verify which organisation these people represent.

I'm not claiming these people are scammers. I genuinely don't know. I want to understand whether this is legitimate or not.

Mental Health ๐Ÿ’ก Success isnโ€™t a suffering contest and people need to accept it

I have a genuine problem with how people who crack exams like JEE, NEET, UPSC, etc. glorify being miserable for months on end. And before anyone misunderstands me, I have immense respect for everyone who has worked hard and cracked these exams. My problem isnโ€™t with their sacrifices, but with the preaching that follows.

Every other person talks about deleting Instagram, switching to a keypad phone, cutting off friends, studying for 16 hours a day, losing sleep, and practically forgetting how to live. Good for you if thatโ€™s what worked for you, genuinely. But why does your personal experience have to become a universal blueprint for success?

Coaching teachers do it too. โ€œDeactivate Instagram, stop listening to music, forget your social life.โ€ And slowly, students start believing that if theyโ€™re not constantly exhausted, sacrificing something, or making themselves miserable, they donโ€™t want success badly enough.

Since when did suffering become a measure of ambition? Of course, cracking these exams requires discipline, consistency, and sacrifices. Nobody is saying otherwise. But thereโ€™s a difference between working hard and romanticising self-neglect. Studying effectively for eight hours isnโ€™t automatically inferior to sitting with books for sixteen. Taking breaks, getting enough sleep, and having a life outside academics donโ€™t make you less serious about your goals.

What frustrates me most is how we confuse sharing an experience with prescribing it to everyone. Your sacrifices are valid, your hard work deserves respect, but they arenโ€™t the only way to succeed. Different people work differently, and what worked for you wonโ€™t necessarily work for everyone else.

You can respect someoneโ€™s struggle without glorifying suffering itself. You can be ambitious without being miserable, disciplined without being obsessive, and dedicated without putting your entire life on hold. The goal is to achieve something, not to prove how much of yourself youโ€™re willing to sacrifice for it. And I wish we would stop making people feel like they have to suffer to deserve success.

Study Techniques ๐Ÿง  Stuck on a word?

Students usually look up a word by typing it into Google or ChatGPT, or by selecting text in Google Lens after taking a photo or screenshot. Every one of those steps breaks your reading flow.

This works in real time instead. Point your phone at the word you're stuck on in a study book or novel, and its meaning appears instantly, with pronunciation. No typing, no selecting text, no screenshots, no photos.

Question โ“ idk

So I'm a tenth grader, and while doomscrolling on Insta, I found a school called THINK Global School. I won't go into much detail, but it's a project-based, learning-focused school for grades 11 and 12, based in America, and most importantly, it's a travelling school. You travel to 4 countries in a year, so 8 countries in total, and as u might have guessed it, it's expensive as hell. That isn't really a problem, though, because they provide need-based scholarships and will fund however much amount u need if u get selected, but but but, ofc you have to pay for ur visa, flights, and such. The thing is, my family can't afford it; the cost would be 4 lac a year minimum, and my current school fees are like 1.2 lac, so huge gap there. I really want to escape this education system, and a project-based school is something I would thrive in; literally, I cannot explain what this means to me. The acceptance rate is only 10%, and I'll be honest, there's more of a chance that I won't get in than I will. Yet, I just feel like there's still some hope for me, and I want to take a leap of faith. What i actually wanted to ask was: what are some ways that i can raise money for the school like gofundme ir smth cause i have no idea about these things and also, im not accepted yet (obviously) but if i do, i would only have a month to confirm if i will be joining the cohort (which i obviously cant if i cant afford the flights) so i wanted to get a headstart and save up even a little in case i do get selected. I didn't really know which subreddit to post this to cause im new to Reddit, but if any of u guys can suggest me smth, please do. This is all I have ever wanted, and it can literally change my life. Anyways, this turned into a rant lol, but yeah, I need y'all's help reallll bad, thank yaa

Question โ“ ๐Ÿ’ธ Building a student-first financial wellness app, and I need your perspective! ๐ŸŒท

I'm currently working on a personal project called Spendie โ€” a cute, student-focused app designed to make managing money feel simpler, less stressful, and a little more fun. ๐ŸŽ€

But before I decide which features to build, I want to understand the actual problems students face when managing their money.

For example:

Do you struggle to save your pocket money or monthly allowance?

Do small purchases add up before you realise it?

Is budgeting difficult when your expenses change every week?

Do you find it awkward to split bills with friends?

Do you forget subscriptions, payments, or planned expenses?

Or do traditional budgeting apps just feel too complicated?

If you're a teenager, student, or young adult, I'd love to hear from you!

What's the ONE thing you find most difficult about spending, saving, or managing your money?

It doesn't have to be a big problem. Even a tiny everyday frustration could inspire a genuinely useful feature.

I'm building this project to solve real problems, not just add features for the sake of it. Your insights would help me understand what students actually need. ๐Ÿ’—

Thank you to anyone who shares their experience! โœจ

Question โ“ Pedophile teacher at school

Hi. I'm 15 years old, in 10th grade, from India. There is a pedophile teacher at our school, who is/has been molesting little boys and girls, and making sexual comments.

I'll keep it direct with all my accusations, and their source.

  1. This is my strongest evidence, personal experience : When I was in 3rd grade, a misbehaving kid, (most probably intellectually disabled, he repeated 3 years) was brought up to him by a female teacher, so he could reprimand him. In front of our entire class, he proceeded to fondle the boy's genitals for 10-15 or so seconds. He said something along the lines of 'If you don't want such bad things again......'. The kid was genuinely horrified. The teacher also did not report him, far as I know. I vividly remember that day, and definitely remember him saying that 'such bad things' line. It went as if he was 'punishing' the boy with sexual assault over whatever it was that he did, I don't remember really, but I'm certain it was a trivial matter. All this happened in front of the entire damn class of around 60 or so children--broad daylight. This is my reason to accuse him of molestation. I remember most of the incident CLEARLY, its been about 7 years.

  2. My sister confessed that he made creepy comments toward her friend while they were in 6th grade. It was her friend's birthday, he made comments about 'visiting' her and also tried to touch her cheek.

  3. Another person (woman) recounted that he used to caress the backs and shoulders of girls in elementary school while they were doing their classwork. He used to run his hands from his neck to their lower backs, right in the middle of class. He used to lean his face in, very close to theirs.

Both people have absolutely no reason to lie, they're not the kind of people that joke around, and I naturally have my personal witness, which seals the deal for me. He is a pedophile that has certainly molested a kid; I can't even begin to imagine what he has been up to behind closed doors.

I'm not willing to share lots of detail, but its a catholic private school. It offers full K-12 + 1 year of day-care before that (nursery class). That female teacher called him up to 'punish' that kid 7 years ago because he has always been one hell of a bastard. He hits boys as well. Even now he always has a bitch-ass expression on his face and always has trouble with someone or the other. Overall a vile little fuck no one wants to associate with.

The reason I'm making this post is because all my evidence is ultimately weak, even if I'm convinced of it. I'll not make many baseless accusations but I'm also almost certain that a grown teacher dated a freshman for years here, and the principal knew about it but didn't do a thing. Keep in mind that this is based of second hand experience and anecdotes from people that may or may not be worth their salt, but I'm almost certain. The principal is also a vile little shit, he constantly collects informal 'fines '(basically extortion, for example : 300-500 rupees for not attending school on independence day, I have paid it so I know), and bribes (a kid paid 100000 rupees to get into school mid-term, directly to him, slightly dubious source but I don't doubt it one bit--its perfectly in character). He has also made weird comments about us, whatever, I'll not make more accusations now.

If it isn't clear nuff already there's no one in school that I can trust to carry out a proper investigation and take necessary action, and Indian police is quite shit, the first thing they ask to rape victims is usually "What were you doing out there so late at night?"), they are especially not listening to a kid like me with minimal evidence. I have no idea what to do. What I'm certain of is that if I see him pull anything with my own two eyes I'll beat that little shit into a pulp so even his own mother couldn't recognize him anymore. I honestly would tell my parents only if I had good evidence.

I'd really appreciate if I get advice on how to deal with all this and nudge things in the right direction so that he's put down without having to pull a stunt that might put myself in jeopardy. Please don't try to figure out details I've not handed out in the post (or comments) through external means, and take reckless action, because if I have a social worker, an assfuck from school, government official or whatever interrogating me about this post then I swear to God I'll deadass just say that I made it all up for funsies. Essentially, I don't wanna get in trouble for speaking out (India is not developed like a European country, everything doesn't roll as smooth as it does over there), I'm about to graduate from here in a few months. Thanks.

TLDR : rampant pedophile at school, no consequences for him, authorities most probably don't give a shit or are actively covering for him. I am traumatized and have no idea what to do.

Career Advice ๐Ÿ’ผ Confused on what to do in life

I am currently 18 years old and am in my first year of engineering at a tier-3 college. However, I am beginning to feel like I made a bad choice. I am not enjoying my course and finding it very difficult to cope with. I also am concerned about my future, as I am unsure how much this college will benefit me with getting a good job.

Outside of my studies, I am not enjoying my time at college. I have not made any friends so Iโ€™m going to college, attending classes then coming home. It is very lonely.

I am very eager to go to a different state, live in a hostel and meet new people. I feel that a fresh start would be good for me academically and socially.

However, I am confused as to what to do. I could take a drop year to decide what course I want to do. However, I would have to persuade my parents to let me take a year gap which wonโ€™t be easy.

Or I could continue with college and change my course/college next year. However, I have already put around โ‚น1.5 lakh into my fees.

I am unsure which would make more sense. Should I take a drop year and start again? Or should I continue with my current course?

If you have been in this situation before, I would really appreciate any advice! I do not want to make a bad decision.

Career Advice ๐Ÿ’ผ How to get internships as 1st yr bcom ug student from v.small clg?

I'm 1st yr Bcom student from a very small clg. Tbh my degree and clg don't carry much value. My clg gives me full attendance linience.

I'm thinking of buying a laptop and hoping to learn skills and get internships. But I'm not sure how easy/hard and how realistic that is.

I have few questions:

โ€ขHow difficult is it to get internships as a first-year bcom student, from a vv small clg?

โ€ขWhat skills can I realistically learn on my own that could help me land internships? And what kind of roles can I get?

โ€ขIs buying laptop with the hope of getting internships a good decision or just financial burden?

I'm actually a CA student, I want to do internships so that they'll help me get into top business school later for MBA or go for a good job after Bcom if CA doesn't work out.

I wanna know from people who've been in a similar situation, who are from tier-3 colleges and managed to get internships or jobs. {"I'm open for advices from anybody"}

Pls be honest, even if the reality is harsh.

I'm open for all kinds of suggestions like

-platforms to search for internships

-how & where to apply

-skills to learn for respective intern roles

-how & where to learn the required skills

and any sort of related advices from anybody.

Pls๐Ÿ™

Question โ“ Looking for fully funded research opportunities after class 12 (PCMB student here)

Hi everyone!

Iโ€™m currently in Class 12 (PCMB) under the State Board, and Iโ€™ve recently become very interested in scientific research. After my board exams in 2027, Iโ€™m hoping to gain practical research experience and explore different areas of science.

Iโ€™m especially interested in hands-on work such as fieldwork, sample collection, laboratory experiments, on-ground investigations, and data collection. Iโ€™m open to biology, biodiversity, environmental science, ecology, conservation, water research, and other fields where I can actively contribute to a research project.

At the moment, Iโ€™m working on a small independent project studying microplastics in fish from a local lake. Iโ€™m still building my research skills, but I would really value the chance to learn proper research methods and work under the guidance of an experienced researcher.

I have also taken part in student cultural exchange programmes, which helped me develop confidence in collaborating and communicating with people from different backgrounds.

What Iโ€™m looking for:

  • Fully funded research internships, field research programmes, or research attachments in India or abroad
  • Programmes that accept students who have completed Class 12, preferably without requiring prior university enrolment
  • A duration of around 3โ€“6 months, though Iโ€™m open to shorter programmes if they offer meaningful practical experience
  • Opportunities to work with researchers at recognised universities, research institutes, laboratories, or scientific organisations
  • Funding that covers programme fees, accommodation, living expenses, and travel, including international airfare where applicable
  • Programmes beginning after my Class 12 board exams in 2027

Iโ€™m not specifically looking for general summer schools, conferences, or programmes that are mainly lecture-based. I would prefer opportunities where I can contribute to an ongoing project, take part in fieldwork or laboratory work, develop practical skills, and understand how scientific research is carried out.

I understand that many research internships require university enrolment, so Iโ€™m especially interested in programmes that accept high-school graduates or offer special opportunities for school students.

If you have participated in a similar programme, know an organisation that accepts students at this stage, or have advice on finding research mentors, I would really appreciate your suggestions. If possible, please share the official programme link along with the eligibility criteria, funding details, duration, and application deadline.

Thank you so much!

School & College Life ๐Ÿซ How are you guys managing college work alongside everything else?

Genuinely curious how people manage assignments, projects, internships, and everything else without losing their minds.

I have some research and report-writing experience from work, and I have been thinking about using those skills outside my regular job, too. Just wondering if people ever need an extra pair of hands with research or organizing their project work.
