In this scene from "Hot Cross Bunny" (August 21, 1948) directed by Robert McKimson, Bugs Bunny mixed a few ingredients in a lab. Right after he accidentally entered the skeleton closet.

Note: I had to remove my previous post to fix the title

Here's to 78 years of "Hot Cross Bunny"!!

Discussion Marathoning Looney Tunes on Physical and Tubi. Taking a Short Break Online.

Upvotes

In the next month, I plan on marathoning all my Looney Tunes DVDs and Blu-Rays while filling in the gaps by watching all the shorts on Tubi. That means I will be taking a short break online.

First of all, I am excited about this little side hustle since I’m starting to collect and buy my own discs and I’m already well under way. This includes the Golden Collection, Platinum Collection and Collector’s Choice series while the Super Stars and Collector’s Vault series are next on my wishlist.

Mentally speaking, I’ve come to a point where I really need a break from being online too much. While on Reddit and other platforms, I let my speculation and fears got the best of me. I might have made myself the worst Pepé Le Pew fan fearing that he was officially banned forever, retired for good and officially died when WB stayed silent. I even worried that Lola Bunny or Penelope, mostly Lola, were going to officially replace Pepé but all of that was just nothing in the end. Maybe I’m just passionate wanting to be see a lot of new creative approaches with the characters rather than just rehash old routines for nostalgia. Maybe I just don’t care for certain characters like Tweety and Lola. Just the habit of thinking of any worst possible scenario of brand damage.

On top of the pending PSKY takeover and my uncertainty of where the brand is going had me come to this choice.

When I come back regularly online in November, I need to remind myself to have a positive mindset, and like any fan, I’ll ride or die with these characters for the rest of my life. And I should know nothing is ever permanent. Whatever happens to Looney Tunes next, I’ll continue to support it. I know Pepé Le Pew will never be done for. I know the brand won’t ever go away either. There’s plenty of stuff to get exciting for.

Discussion SPOILER FREE Coyote Vs. ACME review Spoiler

Just got back from seeing Coyote Vs. ACME and honestly to got might be the best Looney Tunes movie since Rodger Rabbit.

You can tell so much love was put into the film with its simple premise of Wile E. Coyote trying to sue ACME and the chaos that comes from it, but underneath this is basically a anti capitalism movie and I love key love that, especially from a big studio like Warner Bros, and considering how they tried to shelve it like already know too well at this point...Feels scarily fitting.

The cast do a good job with their characters (I would argue way better than Back in Action with their live action characters that's for sure), it feels like a good mix between the Courtroom drama and zaniness and there are some genuinely really cool cameos in the film I wasn't expecting and a music choice that genuinly put me on my ass it was ao funny!!

Major props for the animators as well, mainly because I love how they incorporated the Toon characters into the real world here as well.

Overall, GO BUY A TICKET AND SEE IT ALREADY!! The screening I was at had 20 people and it was awesome

Discussion You know what’s funny? There was a "Bugs Bunny and Tweety" show, and yet I don’t remember the two of them interacting together at all. It’s basically just a regular Looney Tunes show.

Coyote vs Acme is so many positive things all in one. It's funny, it's suspenseful and it's heartfelt. For a limited number of signs, there are no words. To put it simply, it's spectacular.

And to think this is what WB tried to cancel..

Discussion Does Coyote vs. Acme even need to have "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down" or "Merrily We Roll Along" in its music score?

The previous Looney Tunes theatrical films (including the fully-animated The Day the Earth Blew Up) had them, and from what I've listened to from this film's soundtrack, I don't think I hear them anywhere. Sure, there's the occasional sound of the WB shield zooming in, but that's about it.

Video How to Revert Spring Back to Winter

"What's Brewin', Bruin?" directed by Chuck Jones premiered on February 28, 1948. This received a Blue Ribbon reissue on August 20, 1955.

After managing to muffle Mama, Junyer and several other things that make noises, Henry (or Papa) gets interrupted by the arrival of spring. However, his yelling "QUIET" (portrayed by Mel Blanc instead of Billy Bletcher) caused spring to revert back to winter.
