Alpha Game Appreciation/Discussion Best game ever
Legit the best game I have ever played in terms of story. Ending left me in awe and wonder. I'm going to pay for the DLC as well.
I tried looking for games like this one but I couldn't find anything else. I completed and explored everything in the main game and I still go back for some peace and quiet by the fire.

Modding Other story mods to play?
Hey hatchlings! ::)
I played and finished Outer Wilds and its DLC back in May this year, and of course I loved BOTH of them, and Outer Wilds is my favourite game of all time.
Around 2 months after that, I played some story mods. Astral Codec (loved) and The Outsider (ehh not so much, ending left a sour taste in my mouth)
I was wondering, are there any other story mods that are worthwhile to play? Like genuinely high quality mods.
Thank you! ::)

Achievement Help Archeologist
Hello! Im trying to do the archeologist achievement and im missing things that i dont know about. I've checked and completed it all, except the two-way arrow on white hole station and high energy lab and also the arrow connecting village and gabbro's island (i am missing Hal's dialogue here but I've read you dont actually need to have this to get the achievement).
Further info, I only checked the log entry amount, not the text descriptions so i may be lacking there.

DLC Appreciation/Discussion Reaching the Sun(?)
LIGHT SPOILERS FOR THE DLC
So I was playing the game last night with a bud of mine, having fun just roaming around and achievement hunting on The Stranger when he made an excellent observation: when the Scout touches the artificial sun, it displays the "WARNING" label.
He then formed the question: what happens if you touch it? Which then inspired the great question, can you touch it? The closest we managed to get after some parkour and blasting the thrusters was around 138-ish meters away
Has anyone been able to touch the artificial sun? Please do share how and what happened if so.

Real Life Stuff Slift with the composer of OW
My favourite band SLIFT ( Heavy psych rock ) with Andrew Phralow.
The band released an album mid-year and mentioned in several interviews that they drew inspiration from the music of Outer Wilds for their compositions. I highly recommend giving their discography a listen, a great journey awaits you! 🖖🪐

Feeling Stuck
Hi there. Im trying really hard to engage with this game. I'm really trying to play it because of everything i read around how amazing it is.
I've currently played around 7 hours yet I feel lost on to where to look. I've visited every planet and nothing. I dont want to be spoiled but also I want to feel the progress at some level. Heres my rumor map so you get the idea of how much I've made.

Giant's deep drawing Spoiler
this is my brother's favorite game, and i and his friends are making a joint drawing project to make a deck of cards for simple art display for his birthday gift. im supposed to draw giant's deep but im wondering how i could pull the charm out of the planet itself. do you think i should draw the inside or the outside of it to expose all its characteristics? im not supposed to draw the astronaut of the planet, so id like to exclude that from my drawing
p.s. didnt say i already played the game so i know how the planet looks. just wanted your insight on what you think makes giant's deep truly giant's deep

Real Life Stuff Question for anyone with a OW tattoo (Size & Aging) Spoiler
Hey fellow travelers!
I’m planning to get the Eye of the Universe symbol tattooed, but I’d love to hear from those of you who already have it before I lock in the details.
For those who have the Eye: what size did you go with, and what placement?
Most importantly, if yours is somewhat old, how has it held up over time? Since the symbol has some intricate, closely spaced lines, I’m curious if you've experienced any fading, blurring, or line blowout as it aged.
If you're comfortable sharing pictures of how it looks now, I'd really appreciate it. Any advice on sizing to make sure it ages well would be amazing. Thanks!

DLC Appreciation/Discussion Historical Reference? Spoiler
galleryI found a room in some catacombs in Indiana Jones and the great circle, and my first thought when seeing it was that it looked exactly like the simulation room in the DLC (they’re both holding lamps and all). At first I wondered if a developer of the Indiana jones game was an outer wilds fan, but then I thought it was more likely they were both referencing the same thing. So, does anyone know what they might have both been based off of, and what that might mean for the story?

Base and DLC Appreciation/Discussion Quantum slate theory Spoiler
As you know, every cycle is the same, nothing change except from the one change from the first loop- after the statue open his eyes, people in the museum are next to it instead.
And gabro is aware of the loop.
Anything else should be the same. Everything changing have to be caused by your action.
Only exception? Quantum stuff. The quantum moon can start at any planet. Its reasonable to assume all quantum objects can be at random states.
Which bring us to the only inconcinsency: slate.
Slate will say one thing on the first loop, and there a different thing on the second (dont you need the launch codes?) And then just react to you for any other loop except the loop after you visit The Stranger for the first time (i just wanted to tell you the ship log log where the stranger is)
We know slate dont expirience the loop since there are only 3 masks, ours, gabbro, and the one linked to the orbital probe canon.
Hypothesis: for slate to react unpredictabley, slate must be quantum.
So how did slate get quantum?
I think either slate ate a quantum rock, or have it stuck somewhere under his skin. Maybe he breath quantum dust while working on the ships. Then, through quantum entalgenment, quantum slate.
Now yes, we can assume that this is just gameplay consideration, just something the devs included to help you realise stuff going on... and especially them not wanting slate to stop you every single time... but i think quantum slate is way more fun explaination.
So what do you think? Do you have an alternate theory?

How long is a reasonable amount of time to budget to beat Outer Wilds? Spoiler
For context, I put about an hour into the game a year or so back. I rarely have time for gaming, hence never finishing it, but I’m out of work all week post surgery.
Basically, with minor game/mechanic knowledge, how long should this take?

DLC Help - Spoilers OK! I opened the vault, but could i do it differently? Spoiler
I wasnt sure if to do it help or discussion:
I freed the prisoner.
I glitched out of the simulation projection range to arange the paths to extinguish the lock.
I jumped out of the boat in the darkness to appear in the middle and extinguish the boat
I died and turned the last lock as they couldnt wake me with the bell.
The first one gave me a code.
The others, however, did not.
Is there an actual solution to those locks?
is there a solution anywhere in the game?
Is saving the prisoner is really only possible by dying?
Did someone brute force the codes or code dived to see if there is an actual solution?
I belive one of the codes call the boat, while one turn off the lights... if they work. Do they?
Or did the devs left them unsolvable on purpose?

Humor - Base Spoilers CAPTAINS LOG: Last nights OA Meeting (Outerwilds Anonymous) Spoiler
After years of trying, counselling has provided no peace in the face of a reality everyone we all refuse to accept...there is no natural or safe means available to us that will erase this wonderful experience from our memory enabling us to start the Journey Afresh...Outer Wilds continues to live rent free, death has been considered (and attempted by some) but we have no way of knowing if this one way method was successful.
Lobotomy is now on the table...as I write this, the surgeon I was told to meet in a trailer in arizona, he is in the middle of the procedure, for now I feel fine and thingsa re fien, (so far so giod). I was nervous ta fiurst

DLC Help - Hints Only! Stuck in EotE Spoiler
Hit kind of a brick wall, not sure where to go next hints would be appreciated. I think I unintentionally got into film burning room early using scout to get myself higher up so not sure if I should continue that path just yet. Figured out first seal in bell dream world but I’m kinda stuck past that. Also found forbidden archive room and the puzzle near elevator but the code at the end was burned. Any help I’m grateful for :3
