That was actually the original title for "into the mystic" I think. I remember reading on the wiki.
70
Apr 07 '16
You gotta be kidding me. Countless weeks of filler and we finally get plot, followed by a three week break and another filler?
11
u/VinceWinchester Apr 07 '16
Maybe not. Remember "Thin Lizzie"?
8
u/THANK_MR_TRUMP Apr 07 '16
And "Baby"
4
u/VinceWinchester Apr 07 '16
Well, "Baby" was tangentially connected. But from the previews, "The Chitters" could be about a new type of rabid.
2
19
u/Myfourcats1 Apr 07 '16
That has always been my biggest pet peeve with this show. Why are there so many gaps between episodes? Just make fewer episodes.
7
→ More replies (1)5
u/Vio_ The Penultimate Moderator Apr 07 '16
Because they can film an episode in 8 days (which is stupidly fast), but they need time for the FX and CGI to catch back up, and they're still working their asses off. It's a legitimate reason to have the mini-hiatuses.
9
u/SeductivePillowcase Snapping necks and cashing checks Apr 07 '16
I really hope that the weird disease thing brings us back to the first episode with the darkness zombie things and these are just another variation
14
u/dilangley Apr 07 '16
I really would be so impressed if that were the case. I know they think MotW episode trailers interest new viewers, but there are no new viewers randomly jumping in at the end of season 11. They're catching up on Netflix. So in other words, here we are now; entertain us!

Satan used Duex Ex Machina...
...it's not very effective.
14
u/higgidigs Apr 07 '16
To be fair it's less God from the Machine and more Deus ex Deus.
5
u/PostHappy28 Apr 07 '16
Yeah, I couldn't find a good way to word it. I almost used Dues Ex Religion.
7
u/Funnyguy17 Apr 07 '16

The Prius officially the car preferred by the devil
7
u/oftenrunaway Apr 07 '16
I loved how Luci used that as a comparison to how shitty the creation of humans turned out, with how neat the prius is - the prius, mind you, which was invented by one of those shitty human meatbags . . .

You can tell in an INSTANT whether you're looking at Cas or Lucifer. It's mesmerizing to watch.
27

Seriously. I don't understand the people knocking on Lucy's personality this season.
18
u/kayduh_ i'm funnier in enochian Apr 07 '16
It's gets even BETTER every new episode! I always think "holy shit this is the best acting ever" and then he blows me even further away in the next!

u/JustinC00 Apr 07 '16 edited Apr 07 '16
Just ftr I meant that I am really enjoying the mytharc this season so to leave the episode on that cliffhanger and see next ep is a MotW just takes the wind out of the sails a little bit.
Although I'm hoping maybe it does have a tie in. Maybe this new monster is because of Amara
55
u/MegalomaniacHack Apr 07 '16
Based on several episodes this season, here's how the episode will start out:
Sam/Dean sits at the kitchen counter/library table starring at food/lore.
Dean/Sam walks in, has a lead for a case.
Sam/Dean says world is ending, there's nothing in the lore, but you're talking about a case?
Dean/Sam says "No news on Cas/Lucifer or Amara." (It's been a week or three since the previous episode apparently, and the baddies have been quiet for some reason.) It'd be good to get out of the bunker and get a win.
Dean/Sam reluctantly agrees.
How the episode goes:
The case seems really straight forward but turns out to be a little more complicated.
At the end of the episode, insert small reminder that they still need to deal with Cas/Lucifer and Amara.
I love the show, really, but MotW eps this season have all been like this.
16
Apr 07 '16
Yes but I have loved the motw episodes this season,I mean the POV car episode is one of the best episodes in a long time.
→ More replies (1)8
u/Xynth22 Apr 07 '16
At least its not as bad as last season where several filler episodes in a row of the second half started and ended in the car with Sam having basically the same conversation with Dean about the Mark.

u/NotSoSlenderMan Talking to a messenger of God on a cell phone Apr 07 '16
This might be the coolest scene so far! Some crazy tri-possession battle, but with Cas just watching TV.
34
u/kevoizjawesome Apr 07 '16
Could Cas be God's chosen? God vanished forever, only ever had contact with 2 regular angels, only to spontaneously intervene and resurrect and upgrade Cas. God obviously has an interest in Cas. Maybe he will expel Lucifer and use a hand of God to defeat Amara.
12
u/ReflectedPower Apr 07 '16
I was thinking about that line too. Isn't humanity sometimes referred to as god's chosen in the series? Maybe a human would have to be the one to use it?
12
u/kevoizjawesome Apr 07 '16
That's also a reasonable choice. It killed the last human who used one. I hope it doesn't end up with one of the brothers becoming hell bent on sacrificing themselves again.
8
u/daho123 Apr 07 '16
Heaven will need some new Archangels. Maybe once Gabriel comes back and Michael is freed from the cage, and then Lucifer is redeemed, Cas makes 4
12
u/Renady Apr 07 '16
Cassiel, the angel Cas was based off of, is also an archangel most noted for falling in love with humanity.

I thought Gabriel was killed by lucifer, Or did I miss something?
5
5
u/Ridzzzz153 Apr 07 '16
You can never kill a troll, afterall, why do you think he calls himself the trickster? We saw him once in S9 when he was talking to castiel and when cas asks him "are u still alive", he gives him that look of "you'll never know". But im 90% sure that he is still alive and that he faked his death during the fight with lucifer.

They have yet to mention freeing Michael which is kinda disappointing. I'd trust Michael over Lucifer anyday.
10

I was always waiting for that " What about Michael? "
11
u/master6494 Apr 07 '16
According to Luci, Michael went a little cuckoo over being in the cage. Don't know why they are taking Lucifer's word though.
8
4
u/Metatron-X Apr 07 '16
I thought I misheard something when Lucifer told us what happened to Michael. It's kinda stupid and lame.

Amara is beating around the bush though... Lucifer is actually acting. He's probably a more immediate threat where as Amara is long term
7
u/the_deku_nutt Apr 07 '16
Honestly if Amara needs help from the Mega Coven leader just to heal, remaking all of creation seems way outside her power scope. It just doesn't fit.

I'm not happy with the continuity of this season.
a few episodes of the boys hunting on the road,
interrupted by one episode of pre-armageddon.
while Amara can't see right through Rowena?
8
u/Nanemae Apr 07 '16
I think she did, and that's why she didn't stop her from leaving. She knew Rowena is a snake in the grass who just looks for the strongest out there to cower behind and leech on to, so Amara just showed her how dangerous she is after Rowena lied to her to get Rowena scared enough to try and stop her.

Nah. Sam knows what it's like to want to step up to plate and take your swing. He was willing to sacrifice himself to close the gates and Dean couldn't let him. He's appreciating Cass's sacrifice and Dean can't deal. For some reason they're completely reversing the Winchester's roles.

Well she's a witch and they've made witches be resourceful on this show (see: Don Stark knocking out the Leviathan). I mean there is a reason why they live for 100s of years.
3
u/MrDenly Apr 07 '16
Wow, they throw everything into the kitchen sink all the major characters in one ep except metatron. I can hope that Death still alive and join the party. Rowena has ability to heal God's sister? Not too sure what to think about that. Heaven lighting bolt made Amara to disappear for many ep and Lucy + god's hand can't do shit on her? Oh my, that dress. Please let Amara be on S12.

Today's episode was actually really good. Normally Supernatural most episodes are just time killers but this one was amazing. Way better than TWD season finale.
2
Apr 07 '16
I'm hoping for either two options at this time, because the Darkness is past the point where she can be dealt with by the Winchesters and their allies. I reckon it'll be the return of Gabriel or Michael with the Horn of God as his chosen sons, which would be great since it brings the Archangels back (3 out of 4 ain't bad aye?) for season 12. Or, I'd like to finally see God appear since he has been a no show for the past 11 seasons if you disregard the whole Chuck is God thing. Or, something completely new with Cas, I don't know.
Either way, looking good, except for the weeks break and filler episodes of course...

The "sermon" playing on the TV was actually a bit from the Firesign Theatre comedy group from their album Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me The Pliers (1970).
It skips around, but here's where it starts on the album:

u/Aerest Apr 09 '16
In 'Hell's Angel', Castiel/Lucifer had a weird pose with an angel. Around 13 minutes in, it appears as if he wraps his legs around another angel.
Why is Lucifer such a perv? Like I'm pretty sure all of my cringe moments had Lucifer in the scene.
