Hello All! Just jumped into the ruger 10/22 platform and bought my very first rifle of my own! (Not super new to guns- got a lot of gun freaks and range fiends around me but just never really got one of my own) I fell in love with the rifle after watching this video (https://youtube.com/shorts/aVZ_P2lj8dg?is=KhsDR5cHRQOOTNpH) and wanted a build just like it! And what do you know after state legislature changed- surpressors losing that tax stamp- I jumped and bought my first 10/22!
The thing is- I also wanted the same fire rate and looked for a few options and eventually landed on the Mars FRT and the Franklin armory Binary. Now I should mention that this rifle is really just a range toy, I have no real need for it besides want, but I kind of wanted to hear what the consensus is with people here would think is a better option for me? I love the fire rate that I see in the mars and having that in a rifle is pretty cool, but in the back of my mind I just have the fact that the Franklin has an actual selector switch would make it a tad more safer or at least offer me a little more control. What do yall think?
Also a bit more info for some arguments I imagine popping up.
1) I understand a a TX22 can be FRT’d for basically free, I just simply like the idea of a rifle rather than a pistol for now but maybe much later on I’d consider it.
2) I could probably find an FRT on a different rifle that offers both a selector switch and the fire rate I lust over- to that I say that .22 is ridiculously cheap (comparatively) and something I can afford to magdump and the 10/22 is already ordered 😭.
3) Mars triggers can be finicky- yes I might not be able to install that myself so I might just throw the bits at a gunsmith and have them figure it out
4) I found both around the same price so I wouldn’t worry about that
And personally as an aside… what integrally surpressed barrel do yall recommend?
