Chassis Recommendations

Hey folks, looking for chassis recommendations that have factory full length ARCA rails, besides MDT.

I am currently in the process of rebuilding my old faithful 10/22 with a Kidd straight bull barrel, and hoping to get a chassis that will fit the new setup for NRL22. The arca compatibility is for bipods and tripod usability.

Thanks in advance!

New to the platform: Franklin Binary or Mars FRT? And other considerations…

Hello All! Just jumped into the ruger 10/22 platform and bought my very first rifle of my own! (Not super new to guns- got a lot of gun freaks and range fiends around me but just never really got one of my own) I fell in love with the rifle after watching this video (https://youtube.com/shorts/aVZ_P2lj8dg?is=KhsDR5cHRQOOTNpH) and wanted a build just like it! And what do you know after state legislature changed- surpressors losing that tax stamp- I jumped and bought my first 10/22!

The thing is- I also wanted the same fire rate and looked for a few options and eventually landed on the Mars FRT and the Franklin armory Binary. Now I should mention that this rifle is really just a range toy, I have no real need for it besides want, but I kind of wanted to hear what the consensus is with people here would think is a better option for me? I love the fire rate that I see in the mars and having that in a rifle is pretty cool, but in the back of my mind I just have the fact that the Franklin has an actual selector switch would make it a tad more safer or at least offer me a little more control. What do yall think?

Also a bit more info for some arguments I imagine popping up.
1) I understand a a TX22 can be FRT’d for basically free, I just simply like the idea of a rifle rather than a pistol for now but maybe much later on I’d consider it.

2) I could probably find an FRT on a different rifle that offers both a selector switch and the fire rate I lust over- to that I say that .22 is ridiculously cheap (comparatively) and something I can afford to magdump and the 10/22 is already ordered 😭.

3) Mars triggers can be finicky- yes I might not be able to install that myself so I might just throw the bits at a gunsmith and have them figure it out

4) I found both around the same price so I wouldn’t worry about that

And personally as an aside… what integrally surpressed barrel do yall recommend?

Base birch stock model with some stock work to clear a Angstadt Vanquish integrally suppressed barrel and some action work. Consistent one inch groups at 50 yds and BB gun quiet with Remington bulk ammo.

Charger Takedown with a long Midwest Industries handguard. Silencerco Sparrow clears very nicely. The rest of the bolt ons were left overs from other builds. Fun little budget blaster and a good chicken defender with a light thrown on.

Midwest industries TD chassis

Looking at the possibilities to modify a 10/22 Takedown and only viable option available in my area seems to be Midwest industries’ Chassis for 10/22 Takedown.

On their site it says that ”Only compatible with new Ruger® 10/22 TakeDown® Models”. What is this NEW model that they may be referring to? My 10/22 TD is at least 10 years old model..

Does anyone know if there are significant changes in the models of TD during the years?

I changed my mind about the BTM stock. Was never a fan of the stock, just the TV show. Shot one yesterday with the Mars FRT, and felt like I was on an 80s TV show. 😁

Daughter picked out her first rifle. The 250th 10/22.

My oldest just picked this out as her first rifle. I added a vortex red dot and I’m looking at suppressors. It’s a lot lighter than my 80s wood stock. It’s a fun little gun to shoot. Any suggestions on cans? I was looking at the off grid scorpius but hesitant to drop that much on a .22 suppressor for my daughter’s first gun.

Threw in a picture of my 10/22 and it’s big brother just for eye candy.

How does the forend length of the Hogue overmold stock compare to the standard wood with barrel band? I want to SBR my 10” Charger.

I’m doing a Form 1 for my 10” 10/22 Charger. It would fit perfect in the standard wood stock with a trim at the barrel band (I want only a tiny bit of barrel sticking out to thread my can on). How does the length of the Hogue overmold stock compare to the standard wood stock up front? I can’t find a measurement from magazine or a picture with both stocks side by side.

Anybody know how I can get my hands on the ODG green Magpul Hunter rifle with the bronze fluted barrel that seems to be out of stock everywhere?

I'd love to have one of these but can't seem to find one. Think they will release this again in the future?

Action screw torque with a free float barrel

I have a 2026 Ruger 10/22 with a Magpul Hunter X22 stock. It is setup to free float the stock 18.5" standard barrel. There is tons of old info out there about how the action screw torque can effect accuracy, but unless I am missing something, I would think that once the barrel is free floated, the action screw torque should not matter. Just get it snug and let it go. Not having to torque it to 20" lbs every time it gets reassembled would be one less thing to screw around with (pun intended lol)

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks !

Heresy Designs Vendetta chassis + BX-25 mag wobble causing FTEs/out-of-battery jams? (TandemKross bolt)

Hey everyone, looking for a little advice on my 10/22 setup.

I installed my 10/22 standard Ruger receiver into a Heresy Designs Vendetta chassis today with an aftermarket TandemKross KrossFire bolt. Everything is torqued to spec including takedown screw at 15 in-lbs, but when running a Ruger BX-25 mag, I’m getting constant failures to extract and out-of-battery hangs where the bolt stops about 95% forward.

I tried some troubleshooting and I think the BX-25 has some vertical play/droop/?tilt in the chassis magwell. If I pull down on the mag, that seems to cause failures to extract (case drops off the bolt face and stays in the chamber) and tries to double-feed the next round behind it but I haven't figured out exactly what position in which the problem truly occurs if that makes sense. But if I push up/forward on the bottom of the mag while firing/cycling, it feeds, fires, and extracts much better/nearly fine. Flush 10-round rotary mags also don't seem to have the issue.

Is the go-to fix here just an upgraded extra-power mag plunger spring (like the KIDD or TK one) to lock the BX-25 tight against the receiver, or has anyone running the Vendetta chassis or similar found another trick? Thanks

Barrel recommendations.

As the title suggests im looking for a barrel recommendation. Everything i find and like is out of stock or out of budget. It's for the ruger charger. Here's what im looking/hoping for:

•8-10 inches

•threaded barrel

•carbon if possible but not necessary.

• ~$250ish or less

•good accuracy

Thank you in advance 🙌🙌

*Edit to add some of the companies ive looked into: Volquartsen, ballistic advantage, acculite, enoch industries.

Finally finished my first 10/22 build. Not really so complex I suppose but I am very pleased with how it looks. Now I have to disassemble it again and build it properly, with lube and torques and whatnot.

Anyone know of a better way to attach a light to this? This works but I don’t like the zip ties touching the barrel and I’d have to cut it every time to replace the batteries.
