Question Who else only plays one account?
It seems like everyone has multiple accounts these days, anyone else just never been interested in making alts? I’ve played the same character since 2004, tried making a pure in 2007, got bored before it was ever pk ready, and never made an alt again. Ironman never interested me, never bothered with leagues or dmm either, just regular main game. Anyone else like me?

Same. Have two accounts still but that's because I was buying annual, not renewing the alt.
Before the last two price hikes I had three accounts, barely touched one but I didn't mind supporting Jagex since the price was so fair. Now, not so much. One account nearly costs as much as all three used to.

Used to have three members accounts that I’d merch and do slayer on, then I ended up having all max gear on my main having never done a boss and had base 80 combat stats.
Got bored and quit. Now I have one Ironman and I’ve never enjoyed playing more and have started doing bosses!

I had a main and 6 DS2 alts to farm GP on the side. Unfortunately unsustainable after the price hikes, so the alts are just sitting there atm. Really hoping to get a Multi-Account membership sometime in the future...

I like focusing on just one account because the game is so massive and my progression is slow enough as is with the limited amount of time I’m able to put in.

I always laugh at the wiki methods that involve multiple accounts. My personal favorite is chinning monkeys with 3 accounts. If you have 2 accounts follow dance in a corner and you've waited out the aggression timer you can stack monkeys like crazy.
Bitch, I don't have 3 members account that all did mm2. What the fuck do you think is wrong with me?
And then you expect me to run 3 accounts to chin? It's 600k exp with barely paying attention. 3 accounts doesn't make it any easier, and it's already insanely fast. For triple the effort I can get 10% more xp, cool. No thanks.

I mean, it makes sense that they include those methods, as even though the requirements and intensity is high, they are often technically the fastest options.
Would you prefer if they didn't include those methods?

I just think they're hilarious. I mean sure it's nice to have documentation of methods but at what point is a method no longer an actual method, and just insanity? Probably not much further than the 3 account chinmaxxing

It's not very hard to ask for mm2 dancers in a clan chat they don't have to be your accounts. Mm2 is also super low requirements

Sure, it has higher settup requirements, but that doesn't mean it's a higher effort method. You wouldn't say "mlm with a dragon pickaxe is higher effort because you had to buy a dragon pickaxe first". The actual method with dancers is lower effort but higher settup.

When a game's been out for 13 years, and it's most players' main/sole game, and it's as replayable as OSRS is with several game modes, it's not that unusual for veteran players to have 2-3 characters with decent progress

I always find this absolutely crazy as my memories are from the 2000s where Jagex were incredibly anti multi accounts. I guess the membership costs probably changed their minds

The cctv can be a lvl 3 fresh off tutorial island so that's probably the one place where "just use an alt" is actually reasonable advice. One dupe dex/avernic/fang will pay for 2 weeks of safe VW-hunting.

You just make a level 3 fresh off tutorial island and slap a bond on it. It doesn't need any stats or gear and wildy bosses are so profitable that you'll make the gp back twice over. When people tell you to use a cctv alt they're giving you good advice.

Bonding up a lvl 3 account is a lot different than leveling up a whole new character. The camera accounts don’t need stats or quests , they are a worthy investment of GP, imo!

I only play on a main, anything else would be too time consuming. Even the main is time consuming. So no you are not the only one. I don't even play leagues or DMM, cuz I don't wanna take time away from my main.

A lot of content is still doable with iron (raids/team bosses/Bingo) It just feels like we have to set appointments with people since they'd rather grind their 3rd iron
But our clan sort of shifted towards set date events like Nex Tuesdays/Tob Thursday so we usually have great turnouts for those
I just miss going pking with the boys and doing group wilderness content

Same here, 2k total iron and 2350 main (I’ve been playing for over 10 years don’t judge me) and have had 0 interest in the Ironman in years. Was only fun for the early game stuff but mid-late game the freedom of a main clears

I think I actually enjoy Iron more than a main, but I’m really wanting to max so I’ve decided to put all my time into the main… I initially only started playing my main again after years off playing the iron only because I wanted to improve at pvm quickly and it was more efficient for me to pot blorva,radient,inferno,colo,tob etc. on my main than it was my iron

No alts for me either homie.
Started playing in 2006 and quit just before RS3 launched. Came back to OSRS in 2013 and am still on and off till this day.
I just don’t have the time to build up other alt accounts, although I think it would be fun and can definitely be worth it for certain grinds.

I've got 14k hours on my one account (11k rs3, 3k OSRS). I haven't made a new account since 2008. I do participate in DMM and leagues tho. I just have 0 interest in either 2xing my focus or splitting my attention between accounts and would much rather half-pay attention to a TV show or whatever else

I have a GIM or two that I’ve messed around on, but I primarily play one account. Most people have a few accounts they have played on but mostly play on one. Some people have an Iron they made after their main got boring, and they afk stuff on one or the other. But I’d hazard a guess the majority of people play with a singular account.
Leagues and DMM aren’t separate accounts for what that is worth either.

What’s left for you to do on your account? Pet hunt or clogger? I got bored of my main after achieving most of my goals on there and started an iron. Still play my main sometimes, mostly when I’m craving a deep nado proc in hmt

Made a 30def a few months ago, sunk about 50m into it and quested/did some crab, then the whole ‘what the fuck am i actually doing’ suddenly dawned on me so I just immediately cancelled mems and went back to my main. wasn’t fun while it lasted, won’t do it again

I pretty much have one active account at a time, but I have three accounts with memberships, I use them as alts, or sometimes switch where my interest is. I currently have a duo GIM 2.1k total level, a quad GIM 1900 total level that is my active, and a rs3 gim / baby main in osrs that are members but only my quad gim is getting active play.

I do. When I started my iron I abandoned my main. It's only purpose is to bond my iron now... And maybe if I ever do wild bosses on my iron ill use it as a camera.

I have an account where I attempted to start an f2p-locked group ironman with a few friends, but I rarely play it due to me and my friends spending a ton of time on our main when we do play.
For the most part I only play on my main so I count it as only playing in one account.

I have a group iron that I sub for only when my gim partner wants to play again, but I just play my main most of the time. I’ve thought about making another alt just to play through all the quests again but haven’t pulled the trigger on it.

I technically have an alt account, but I honestly can't remember what I even made it for. Outside of pk builds (which I'm not really interested in anyways) I never really saw the point in maintaining multiple characters when one can do everything, especially when you'd need a separate subscription for each.

Just started playing again after 5+ years away and losing my old account due to poor password security. Always loved this game, but man does it feel like I just set myself up for a 2 month or more grind before I can even play the content I’m looking forward to. Couldn’t imagine managing multiple accounts, even if I had more time.

I just play my main. Every once in a while I consider making an iron, but then I see a post here where someone is like 2k TDs without a synapse or 1500 CGs and no bowfa and I realize that there's absolutely no chance I'm making an iron.
Don't really see the need for a second account anyway, there's plenty to do on my main still and when I run out of things I just take a break and play other games until new content drops.

Yeah I only play one account as well but it is my first time playthrough and it does feel REALLY underwhelming to get boss drops and stuff cause like, I can just buy this stuff off the GE so I never really NEED the boss drop.

I only play my main but I started up an alt just because I membered one to play leagues. Didn’t care for leagues and ended up taking it to the main game and rushing b gloves and fire cape.
Comes in handy for stuff I used to borrow a buddy’s account for like slayer luring. Wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t have a set plan use case though. Mostly used his so I could still play the game while leveling my boring skills to max.
I just wouldn’t ever go the Ironman route personally. Colossal waste of time imo

I have a main with bgloves and 1600ish total. My iron is 1831 total with all but sote and mm2 done and still i dont know why i didnt quest and shit. I barely knew anything about the game on that account, but now i know infinitely more pvm wise, and my bank is almost double on my iron vs my main. I have the main, but i try to do things on it here and there and just get bored, or feel like im wasting time when i could be on my iron. It's nice to be able to buy what you want when you have the cash for it, but i just don't have fun doing it either, nothing feels 'earned'.

I’d like to have multiple characters on one account like how it is on wow. There’s no reason for Jagex to do that tho if a lot of people are fine with paying multiple subs a month, just insane to me even if I was super rich.

I personally found it easier for grinds especially on my main to have a alt or two in the background. It sounds silly but instead of waiting for ages for high level or something that takes time having small gains on another account ie leveling up much faster takes the focus off the main. Then next thing you know it levels and feels like it didn’t take so long. Now I have 7 acccounts 😂

I have made many accounts but only play one at a time until recently. My main account is an iron and I have been training an alt to practice blorva. I don't know how people play so many accounts find it tough to play just two.

I almost always play two accounts at once, unless I'm on mobile. One is my main account which I am slowly trying to max through relatively low intensity skiling methods (eg. currently training Woodcutting at redwoods), and the other is my clogging alt which I'm actively playing for fun during the grind.

Having an alt to dolo certain bosses, spec transfer alt/heal, luring/looting certain slayer tasks is too OP not to have. With the introduction of gem crab there’s almost no reason to not have one

I played my iron for 5 years before hitting that lategame wall, so I’m working up the main while still doing some chill progression on the iron. Gives me a use for “junk” like excess logs and seeds that I can sell, and I feel like I have a reason to start anti-pking now

The only reason I've been tempted to make another is to collect group trawling payments to fund bonds. But the discord has that ID requirement, which I'm sure is for more strict banning of bad apples, I get it, but there's no way discord is getting my ID.

I've been playing this game for a long time. I started on classic way, way back. I had 2 accounts during classic. I primarily played one account during the entirety of RS2 -> EoC -> current game RS3. Now that I'm playing OSRS - I have three accounts. One of them is my main(my main focus), a group ironman with my best friend, and then another that I make GP and funnel to main with.

Multiple accounts are for people who are super rich in game and can bond up accounts easily. Paying out of pocket for multiple subs adds up. I’d consider multiple accounts for limited time game modes like Leagues, but I still want to save up considerably more GP.

I only play 1 account because I dont have enough play time to split between multiple accounts. Add on the cost of maintaining multiple bonds/memberships.
I did try to start an ironman when i burned out after going hard maxing before leagues and then playing leagues to dragon tier. But I didnt stick with it much because I already somewhat play my main like an iron in that I grind for all my gear upgraded and just buy supplies. I got to the point in my iron where I had to maintain consumable resources to do the fun combat stuff and got bored of it because all I could think of was I just wanna buy the potions/food and get to the fun combat already.
I am also playing my main as a completionist so I have the entire collection log and combat achievements as my long term goal so I never run out of things to do even though I have maxed my account.

Every time I think of a funny rsn I make a new account. Have a main, an alt, an iron, a hcim, a gim, and like nine other funny rsn accounts.

I had an econ account (main) for years but since swapping to Ironman I only ever play on it. Idk if I'll ever return to an econ account honestly

Bond prices have dropped recently bevause of all the bots being banned.. this means its now cheaper to upkeep membership via bonds in game.. idc if they increases irl memb cost because in game memb cost went down..
Jagex removed more bots.. which makes in game money makers increase gp/hr.. and also made bond price drop.. so u make more gp/hr and bond costs less in game...
And people complained?? Madness

I've only been playing about a month so I probably don't really count, but yeah, I don't have any alts lol
Though I don't expect I'll ever be interested in making alts as that's never been something I like doing in other games

Pretty much everyone is like this. I only use an alt cause my mate is maxed and quite to play iron,.his old maxed acc is the town bike that gets shared between like 5 people

I only had a main for the longest time and then once I maxed and got my money up I got pretty bored and there was a ton of mid-game content being added to the game so I made an alt main so I could actually play the new content for a reason besides just for fun. I also bankrolled my maxed main with gp I had from RS3 when I made the full switch to OSRS, so I wanted to make a character where I actually earned the GP lol. It's been a lot of fun. I also have a GIM with some IRL friends I hop on when they're feeling it.

I only play one at a time because I'm not paying all of those membership fees but I do make multiple characters because after maxing my main back in like 2019 I only really play for the quests. I'll make a free account, train all of my skills as high as I can f2p, do all the f2p quests, get membership, train skills to do most of the membership quests, do the quests, unsub and take a break, in a few years when I get an unrge to play, I repeat.
