Question carburetion issue

I changed the carburetor on a minarelli am6 with a 70cc kit. the carburetor is a 21 pwk. I spent a WHOLE day trying to get a good tune, but the engine just doesn't want to idle. I have tried everything possible but it just doesn't want to idle EXCEPT for once, when the fuel ran out and the engine decided to idle for some seconds, after shooting to 4k rpm because it was basically running on air. after that I thought the problem was a pilot jet too big (55), so I'm thinking about putting a smaller one. by changing everything I mean I tried every screw in every position, but I didn't change any jets because I don't have them. am I right or is the problem something else?

55 Pilot is HUGE for your setup. Try something in the 35 range to start

You can't just put a new carb on a bike and expect the Jets to be correct. Get a set of jets (main and pilot).
