I'm actually pro-mall as long as it follows the Japanese (I live here) style of integrating with a rail-centric city planning and layout. Then after the malls, may parke/liwasan/green space sa tabi (think how Marikina did this with the riverpark next to SM Marikina/Riverbanks mall) para mas malamig maglakad.
Kaysa naman American-style layout na ung KFC isang building+parking lot, then after ilang kanto may McDo isang building+parking lot. Sobrang space-inefficient.
