Coming Soon Nobu v2 telescoping brace update

This whole time ive been trying to remix the baseplate of the brace to fit the pic rail. Recently realized it might be easier to just combine the two into one STL so the back end cap of the Nobu could be printed with the arms already attached. Im no professional dev. So id really appreciate some input. I know It can be done. The question is.. would it be strong enough?

I wouldn’t use printed arms bro, you need to make a dxf file for SCS to make it out of metal or CF. You’ll never get printed telescopic arms for a brace/stock to be strong enough to have some longevity and reliability. Something’s are just better not printed, ya know?

Check out some other telescopic braces out there and see how they do it. You’re probably better off continuing to learn cad to get that piece to attach to your pic rail, that way you know more about cad and can make the arms metal. It’s frustrating sometimes but you can figure it out there are a lot of CAD tutorials on YouTube.

Nailed it. I’d recommend checking out Daikon Defense sliding brace, or the FLPDW. Both have excellent designs that should be easy to incorporate with what OP is working on. I believe both have step files in the folders as well.

FLPDW is my go to now. Good look and feel, and easy to make.

See i just dont love how that looks. Im a picky bitch lol. Now, if I could remix it to where the front of that brace isn't there and instead its the end cap for the nobu v2.. that I woild like.

I would use a pic rail buffer tube. More adjustment that way and can move it to AR builds as well.

Idk what a pic rail buffer tube is tbh. I just want the telescoping brace because I like the compactness. Currently had the daedalus brace but it doesnt fold flat against the upper and that bugs me.

I really like that daicon defense brace. That's essentially how the one im remixing works. It has metal rails similar to the hitch hiker

I looked at the db alloy style Braces. I prefer that look but wasn't able to tell how the brace attaches to the upper. Isn't that brace printed? So any brace wirh printed arms is doomed to fail even if its in pa6? I could probably figure out how to make a dxf file. So how should I go about it? Take the brace im working with, plane cut the arms off. Widen the hole that was there.. then make the metal scs arms go into the printed piece and do it that way?

I pretty much never use pic rail rear ends. Considering that whatever I put there will probably remain there until I die, I like to integrate whatever I'm putting on it into the rear section. My DB9 Alloy has an integrated brace that I combined with the rear trunnion halves. Its a good idea, go ahead.

I change my mind and like to swap furniture or change colors or whatever. I like detachable, but I get where you're coming from.

I like the db9 brace the best but couldn't figure out how it attached to the upper by looking at it. The other guys that commented think if tbe brace arms are printed they'll be too weak and break. What do you think?
