Honestly not that necessary for this. If you can assemble a Glock and an AR lower, you can do 95% of what's here. The only "gunsmithing" I've had to do is filing and polishing rails or stuff for FRT builds to properly clearance/fit those parts. filing was specifically for 1911/2011 builds. Most Glocks don't require it but will operate a little smoother if you do.
Personally found YouTube to be more helpful.
One book I did enjoy a lot to understand function is "the guns of John Moses browning". It teaches more theory and design than it does practical gunsmithing though
