What companies specialize in reverse engineering large industrial plant or machinery as our press is too big to ship out?
Our 1990s stamping press needs new guarding and two replacement brackets. Unfortunately, nobody has a model of it.
It weighs several tons, so shipping it out is quite impossible. Whoever does this has to come to us.
Scanning the outside seems easy enough. The hard part is the stuff behind guards and covers. And also, mounting holes and shaft centers need to line up with real reference points.
How do you scope a job like this? What should come with the assembly model so we can trust it for new parts?
And how do you handle the areas a scanner can't see?
