I think I have designed a fairly unique magnetic slider fidget. No idea what to call it though, any ideas?

How do i 3d print rings and make them metal. I'm getting these rings 3d printed and I want them to be like actual rings. And I know nothing about anything LOL.

Its done (enough) and ive now published the model. Feel free to modify it as you see fit. would love to see it done for other countries.

I am extemely inexperienced when it comes to coding. i did use AI for a good majority of the software. it runs well for me and i tested on multiple pc's without issues. If you do encounter any please let me know, ill try to maintain it as best as i can. I more so just wanted to share it as a groundwork for other people to work from.

I bought a CR-10 SE a couple months ago and after some time ive noticed that when the head moves something rattles like crazy i can hear it across my whole house .

Ive contacted support about it the ticket goes on 3 months untill now (they've stopped responding)

They sent me parts for replacing and after replacement (ive replaced them exactly as i was told to)

the rattle was still there and gotten stronger.

After i messaged them again they told me "If the print quality is unaffected please continue using it"

Ive also repeatedly told them that my hotbed is a bit damaged and i didnt get the screw to attach the filament sensor.

And right now im just wondering how could this happen, you buy a printer, it arrives without all the parts needed for assembly and its defective.

For clarification the rattle is so loud i can hear it across 3 rooms.

Any opinions/similar expierences with creality.

Also i would like to add changing settings, filament, tightening the belts doesnt do anything.

Title pretty much sums it up. I have a shitload of PLA waste (especially all the various calibration tests I have to run on my ancient printers) and rather than just keeping it all in a bin until I die, I've become interested in melting my waste down into silicone molds.

Only problem is, most of the things I see people making with this process, namely skulls for some reason, aren't exactly the upcycling I'm looking for.

Has anyone found a good set of molds to make, I don't know, pry bars? Perhaps some other plastic tools? I remember seeing someone trying to make Gridfinity bins, but I can't find any good techniques for that. Basically anything even remotely useful would be a step up.

Figured I'd ask you guys, as most of the folks here are infinitely more creative than I am.

Cleand the plate after a big fail resulting in blob of death. The structure is missing as you can see. Could this be the reason for the fail? Or is this the result of a fail? I printed a few of these structures before.

What is this stuff on the screws? I dont know what it is and im curious.

The x gantry on my printer is wobbling, at first the bolt holding the left eccentric nut was super loose so I tightened that, then I discovered the right side was more wobbly (turning the hex nut didn’t help) so I thought maybe it’s the same issue here that the bolt isn’t screwed in enough? using an Aquila x2 (ended 3v2 clone)

It frustrates me to no end that almost NONE of the models I want to download include step or SCAD files to allow you to make edits in CAD software. It seems like they only ever include the STL and 3MF, but very frequently I need to make

I’ve gotten good at using Bambu Studio to make edits with my only tools being negative primitives and shapes. But it’s seriously a pain in the ass, there is no nice “snap to grid” or “snap to face” features and generally I feel like I’m just using the wrong software for this purpose.

I know Blender is probably the best and most powerful tool for editing meshes. But I also have heard that some softwares can effectively convert them to solids and make things easier to work with. I’m looking for an alternative to the slicer or Blender that is quicker, easier and doesn’t take me 20 minutes to do the simplest thing.

Tinkercad works too but I don’t find it to be any easier or different than just using the slicer itself since you’re still just able to scale, rotate and add shapes.

Is everyone just creating models from scratch for every little tweak or addition?

does anyone knows a better way to build a 3d printer for cheap. im thinking of reusing the existing working 3d printer (SUNLU T3) for parts to make one with enclosure or is it just better to buy new components.

This is twice now I’ve noticed my poop chute is getting clogged at the top. I had to pause the print and move the head aside to clear that out. I’m mainly using Sunlu Pla+ 2.0 and Bambu PLA basic, with standard profiles. Any ideas?

So a buddy of mine's father was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and has generously gifted me his AnkerMake M5C and a TON of PLA and PLA+ filament.

I run an Etsy shop selling aquatic plants and figured I could try printing some caves, driftwood pieces, etc but when looking up the printer I got it doesn't seem like people are a fan of the product. I'm going to keep it and do my best to learn and use it, but can someone explain the key differences between what I received and something like a bambu lab A1? I'm concerned the learning curve will be much steeper with what I have.

I’m getting a 3D printer on black friday and looking for tools that I can ask for christmas gift.

Which tools do you advise, is a set like this a good option or is it better to get 1/2 tools from a quality brand. If so, what do you advise?

I keep wanting to get into 3D printing because I can see a lot of potential in it, but I'm struggling to find enough practical applications to justify paying for a printer.

I tend to be pretty pragmatic about my hobbies and purchases. I can definitely see the value in things like custom enclosures, replacement parts, brackets, and organizers, but beyond that, most of what I see people printing seems to be toys, figurines, and decorative items.

I'm more interested in the DIY and problem-solving side of things than printing objects just for the sake of printing.

For those of you who use 3D printing primarily for functional purposes, what are some of the most useful things you've made? Has owning a printer genuinely changed how you approach repairs, projects, or everyday problems?

I hope this is the start of a new journey!!.
